Chapter 87 - I'm The a chaos

The Chancellor Hans Wagner gestured for me to sit, and after a moment's hesitation, I sank into the chair, my posture tense.

"You did what you had to, Levi," the Chancellor began, his voice soft yet unwavering.

There was no judgment in his eyes, only understanding. "Sometimes, we're forced to make choices that haunt us. But remember this: you acted to save your friends, to protect those who couldn't defend themselves."

I remained silent, my hands clenched tightly in my lap. The words washed over me, but I wasn't sure I believed them.

How could he find peace in an act that had taken something from him, a part of himself that he feared he would never regain?

"Malachi was a man who brought pain and suffering," the Chancellor continued, leaning forward slightly.

"In stopping him, you did more than just end a life you ended the pain he would have caused to others. There's no glory in what we do, Levi, but sometimes there's justice."
