Chapter 3 - Improper Eyes

At a small dining table, Ye Qiu and Xiao Wu sat opposite each other.

After handing her the washed carrots, Ye Qiu buried his head in his bowl of white porridge, mixing it with his stored pickled vegetables, which had a unique flavor.

Xiao Wu, too, was crunching on her carrot, which was delightfully crispy.

Holding a carrot in one hand and propping her chin with the other, she asked, "Hey, Ye Qiu, my Spirit is the Soft Bones Demon Rabbit. What's your Spirit?"

"Sharingan!" Ye Qiu replied crisply without raising his head.

"Sharingan? What kind of Spirit is that? Show me!" This silly rabbit, fresh out of the Spirit Beast world, was full of curiosity for new things.

She propped herself on the table and flipped over to Ye Qiu's side in one somersault.

She directly brought her head close to his face, examining him thoroughly, "Is it related to the eyes?"

Smelling the wafting carrot scent, Ye Qiu clenched his fist. He was a bit helpless with this boundary-less rabbit; for now, he couldn't beat her.

"Look, this is the Sharingan!" Ye Qiu pointed to his eyes; a blood-red color emerged, and a single tomoe slowly rotated.

Xiao Wu's gaze met his eyes. After a moment of stunned, her rabbit ears on her head twitched, and she mumbled to herself, "So beautiful."

"Hey! What are you doing?" Ye Qiu gently nudged Xiao Wu's shoulder, but she didn't react.

Xiao Wu seemed to be enchanted, staring at his eyes with a look of infatuation, her originally fair and rosy face flushed.

Watching her small face get closer and closer, Ye Qiu had no choice but to slap her directly.

"Ah! Ye Qiu, why did you hit me?" Xiao Wu covered her face, looking at him with a dodging gaze.

"If I didn't hit you, you'd be plastered to my face, you hooligan rabbit!"

"I'm not a hooligan rabbit! Don't call me that!" Xiao Wu was furious.

"Still saying you're not? You just tried to take advantage of me!" Ye Qiu stepped back a few paces, putting a safe distance between them.

"You're talking nonsense!" She didn't know why she suddenly lost control just now; she just felt that Ye Qiu had become much more handsome.

She touched her flushed little face, stomped her foot in embarrassment, and raised her small fist at Ye Qiu, "Anyway, you can't call me that, or Xiao Wu Jie will deal with you!"

"Whatever, I'm going to wash the dishes." Ye Qiu waved his hand. A good man doesn't fight with women, mainly because he didn't want to get beaten.

"Hmph hmph! Good thing you know what's good for you!" Xiao Wu hummed twice, and after speaking, she didn't forget to take a bite of the carrot in her hand.

Seeing that Ye Qiu was no longer paying attention to her, she had no choice but to go to the door and tease Xiao Bai, who was in the cage.

'What was wrong with her just now? Was she under an illusion?'

Ye Qiu was also a bit curious about the previous situation. He clearly hadn't made any moves, but Xiao Wu, that rabbit, suddenly became abnormal.

"It seems I can try again later." Looking at his reflection in the water, he glanced at Xiao Wu outside and whispered to himself.

...

In the blink of an eye, more than half a month passed, and the two got along quite well. The silly rabbit, who was initially unruly, became much more docile.

During this time, Ye Qiu also continuously trained his physical fitness, improving his mental force and spirit power through meditation.

Although the Sharingan hadn't changed much, through Xiao Wu's perception, he knew that his current spirit power was level 4. Ye Qiu speculated that the Sharingan reaching the three-tomoe state was akin to innate full spirit power.

As for the higher-level Mangekyo Sharingan later on, he still had no clue.

This morning, Ye Qiu, as usual, pushed away the rabbit pressing on him.

He didn't do his morning exercises, and after preparing carrots, he waited for Xiao Wu at the dining table.

"Ye-Ye Qiu, good morning!" Soon, Xiao Wu's clear voice rang in his ears, a little embarrassed.

"Morning, come and eat breakfast quickly!" Ye Qiu's expression was as usual.

"Mm!" She avoided his gaze and nodded gently.

Looking at Xiao Wu, who was buried in her carrots, transforming from a lively rabbit to an ostrich-like figure, Ye Qiu couldn't help but rub his forehead. This was his fault.

After multiple experiments, he could now confirm that his Sharingan seemed to be a bit unconventional.

When making eye contact, it seemed to have a fatal attraction to the opposite sex. Xiao Wu, as the experimental subject, would lose her mind and blush with a pounding heart every time.

Yesterday, before Ye Qiu could stop her, she even caught him and gnawed on him several times, which is why he now had this docile rabbit.

As for whether this effect would strengthen with the evolution of the Sharingan, and whether it was short-term or long-term, these questions still needed to be verified.

Looking at Xiao Wu, who had lost her usual vitality, Ye Qiu felt he should say something, "There's no need to dwell on what happened yesterday. It was just an accident."

As he spoke, he naturally served her a bowl of porridge.

"I understand." Taking the porridge, Xiao Wu raised her flushed, pretty face, her brows lowered, seemingly a bit unhappy and pouting. "Xiao Wu Jie didn't take such a thing to heart at all!"

"That's for the best!" Ye Qiu breathed a sigh of relief, but Xiao Wu was unwilling to get up again.

Clang! She slammed her rice bowl heavily on the table and yelled at Ye Qiu, "What's so good about it? Hmph!"

"I'm full. I don't want to talk to you!" After saying that, under Ye Qiu's somewhat bewildered gaze, she picked up the cage containing the rabbit at the door and left the stone house.

"She was fine just now..." Ye Qiu scratched his head, not understanding what was wrong with this silly rabbit.

He glanced at the carrots, which were usually completely gone, but now half remained. Ye Qiu knew she hadn't eaten enough.

He didn't chase after her, silently tidying up his things. Ye Qiu was already used to her temper tantrums; each time, she would be the first to lose patience and reconcile on her own.

Xiao Wu had temporarily run away from home, and there was no one to practice combat with him.

Ye Qiu had no choice but to finish his scheduled training first, then sit cross-legged on the bed and meditate. After all, the Spirit was the foundation, and reaching the three-tomoe state earlier would speed up subsequent cultivation significantly.

"Ah! My Xiao Bai..."

It was another morning. Looking at the scattered rabbit fur in the cage, Xiao Wu cried out in surprise, and the carrot in her hand no longer smelled appealing.

"Ye Qiu! Where's my Xiao Bai?"

"Here, it's in the pot!" Ye Qiu pointed to the small stove under the eaves.

"What!?" Xiao Wu shrieked, "Ye Qiu! You're too much! Rabbits are so cute, why would you eat a rabbit!"

"We're going to Nuoding City tomorrow. No one will feed it if it stays here, and it's inconvenient to take it on the road, so it's better to just get it over with!"

Ye Qiu squatted by the fire, responding calmly, and added another log to the stove.

Xiao Wu's eyes were filled with mist, and she gritted her teeth and pounced on Ye Qiu. "Ah~ Ye Qiu, I'm going to beat you to death!"

"Hey, be reasonable..." Ye Qiu, pinned to the ground and scratched by Xiao Wu, struggled hard.

'No choice.'

Helpless, Ye Qiu had no choice but to activate his Spirit, his eyes turning blood-red and captivating, bringing them close to Xiao Wu's face.

As soon as their gazes met, Xiao Wu's crimson eyes lost focus for a moment.

She stopped moving, felt Ye Qiu's breath, and her face slowly turned red, not knowing if it was from anger.

"I don't want to talk to you anymore!" She got up, kicked Ye Qiu once, and then ran back into the house.

"Phew~" Ye Qiu exhaled a turbid breath, feeling the usefulness of his eyes while also showing a bitter smile.

'The Sharingan is also known as the eye that reflects the heart. I don't have any dirty thoughts!'
