She looked at him tears rolling down her cheeks "Adrian..."
A sound interrupted them...it was Elena, she just arrived from Evelyn's villa and she met a lady hugging her husband and her bag dropped to the floor causing them to look at her
"Elena..?" Adrian rose up
Lilah tucked her hair behind her ear standing up slowly
"What are you guys doing?" She asked, anger blaring in her eyes. Her gaze drifted to Lilah...she!! the one who betrayed him in the novel...oh well, Elena White never noticed anything and when she did, it was too late...
Adrian sighed, he turned and walked upstairs. He had wanted to tell Elena that nothing was happening. But was he really sure?
Under the running water, Adrian couldn't stop thinking about the look in her eyes. She looked hurt although he doesn't even care for her, so why? Why would she be hurt? They weren't even yet married...
Downstairs...Both women stared at each other
"I didn't expect to see you here, Lilah"
"I just came to see Adrian" She answered
"At night?" Elena raised her brows at her, a smile creeping to her face
Lilah picked up her bag "Well, I must take my leave now" She walked past Elena
"What are you playing at?" Lilah stopped in her tracks but didn't turn back to her
"I want to know, what game, are you playing?" Elena asked again
Lilah turned to her scrunting her eyes "Well...I must say you've changed...Elena"
That caught her off guard but she smiled "People change, don't you know?"
Lilah nodded her head smiling "That's nice but I'd advice you not to cross the line" Her smile didn't reach her eyes, her tone were threatening
But that didn't move Elena, she turned and walked upstairs leaving the other woman standing there
On getting to her room, she sighed...it was happening, all what happened to Adrian has began to happen.
She remembered when Lilah came to his house in the novel. Elena White was home but she didn't notice anything...how annoying!!
How could the author write the novel like that? It still really baffled Elena...
She was too ignorant to everything in the story
After getting a refreshing bath, she walked out of her room, then her stomach growled
Ouch, she really haven't had her dinner tonight. Pouting, she made her way to the kitchen but she met a maid there
"Young lady" The maid bowed
Huh? Young lady? Weird... "Just call me Miss White" she told the maid "What is your name?"
"Audrey" She looked young
"How old are you?" Well, she shouldn't be asking this to a maid but...it doesn't matter right?
"16" Audrey replied more like whispered
What? Why would a young girl like her work as a maid. The author really didn't talk much on the maid's in Adrian's house
"Why are you working here as a maid?"
Audrey bowed her head hesitating "M-ma'am..."
"Hey!" She touched her arm caressing it to reassure her, "It's alright"
Elena sighed...how could a sixteen year old work as a maid? Were was her parents? She didn't want to ask more questions so she stopped
