Chapter 83 - Bald Cape Man and Herrscher of the Sky

The Xandar government hall was grand and solemn, with a high dome and light blue energy screens flowing like water waves between the walls.

Chen Tian was led by Nova Prime through layers of heavily guarded corridors, finally stepping into this hall that symbolized the highest authority of the Nova Corps.

The hall was already filled with people—Nova Corps Commanders in blue and gold armor, their gazes vigilant and serious; while the Governors wore luxurious council robes, their expressions varied, some angry, some worried, and some full of hostility.

Chen Tian scanned the room, a slight, mocking smile playing on his lips.

"What a grand display," he snorted lightly, completely ignoring the tense atmosphere around him, and walked directly to the center.

A levitating chair sensed his approach and automatically slid behind him.

Chen Tian unceremoniously sat down, crossed his arms, propped his leg up, and tilted his chin slightly, looking directly at Nova Prime.

"Speak," he said indifferently, "I'm listening."

The hall instantly erupted in an uproar.

"Impudent!" a Commander roared, "How dare you be so rude to Nova Prime!"

Chen Tian didn't even bother to lift an eyelid; he simply flicked his fingertip, and an invisible repulsion field suddenly expanded.

The Commander was instantly pushed back by a huge force, stumbling until he hit the wall before barely regaining his balance.

"I don't like to be interrupted," Chen Tian's voice remained calm, but the cold light swirling in his six eyes sent shivers down everyone's spines.

Nova Prime raised her hand to signal for calm.

She took a deep breath and looked directly at Chen Tian: "Mr. Chen Tian, we invited you here to confirm your stance."

"Stance?" Chen Tian raised an eyebrow, "What stance?"

"Regarding Thanos," Nova Prime's voice was low and serious, "You mentioned his name, and according to what you said, you are not his ally."

Chen Tian scoffed: "Thanos?"

He spread his hands, "My only interaction with him was a few years ago when I foiled his plan to invade Earth, and his underlings ambushed me and threw me here."

The government hall fell silent, everyone staring at him, trying to discern the truth from his expression.

Nova Prime pondered for a moment, then waved her hand to bring up a holographic projection—it was a deployment map of Thanos's fleet, dense red dots spread across several star systems.

"Thanos's power is expanding.

His goal is clear—to collect the Infinity Stones and wipe out half of all life in the Universe," her gaze was sharp, "And Xandar is his enemy."

Chen Tian narrowed his eyes: "So you're worried I'm here to work for Thanos?"

"We have to be cautious," Nova Prime said frankly.

Chen Tian was silent for a moment, then suddenly laughed: "Interesting."

He stood up, and the levitating chair automatically moved away.

He slowly walked towards the projection, pointed a finger, and Thanos's image instantly magnified.

"First, I have no interest in being his subordinate," his fingertip lightly traced the projection, and Thanos's head was torn apart by a black energy, "Second, Thanos ambushed me, and I will settle that score with him personally."

He turned, his gaze sweeping over everyone present, finally settling on Nova Prime.

"So, will you choose to cooperate with me, or continue to oppose me?"

The government hall instantly erupted.

The Commanders in blue and gold armor split into two factions, arguing fiercely, while the Governors in council robes whispered to each other, the entire hall filled with rising and falling voices.

"We cannot trust this alien of unknown origin!"

The Commander of the Third Legion slammed his hand on the table, "I suggest we immediately transfer him to Klyn Prison!"

"But the power he displayed in the square…" The Head of Intelligence hesitated.

"Then he should be locked up even more!" the Security Advisor sharply interrupted, "Who knows if he's a spy sent by Thanos?"

Chen Tian idly spun his wristband, the metal dial gleaming coldly under the light.

When the date December 2013 came into view, his pupils constricted—at this point in time… Star-Lord should be looking for the Cosmic Orb, and after finding it, he would come to Xandar.

"Enough!" Nova Prime suddenly slammed the podium, and the entire hall instantly fell silent.

She turned to Chen Tian, noticing that the young man was thoughtfully staring at his wristband, a faint smile on his lips.

"Mr. Chen Tian," she said gravely, "You seem completely unconcerned by our debate?"

(Before entering the government hall, both sides had already introduced themselves.)

"Oh, I don't care," Chen Tian looked up, "I have no interest in the outcome of your debate.

If you want to cooperate, great.

If not, I'll just tear this place down, grab a spaceship, and leave."

As soon as Chen Tian finished speaking, the government hall erupted.

The opposing Commanders' faces turned ashen, and one general in blue and gold armor suddenly drew his energy sword: "Arrogant! Take him down!"

Chen Tian scoffed disdainfully, turning to walk towards the observation platform outside the government hall.

His black trench coat flapped behind him, and the blue light swirling in his six eyes grew increasingly intense.

As he stood at the edge of the platform, the entire sky of Xandar suddenly darkened.

"Watch closely."

Chen Tian raised his right hand, his index and middle fingers joined.

In an instant, a violent current of air swirled around him, the combination of magic and cursed energy causing the entire government hall to tremble slightly, and the glass windows vibrated violently.

A sphere of twisted, purplish-black energy condensed at his fingertips, the surrounding air distorting due to the energy fluctuations.

"Hollow Purple: Modified."

As he softly uttered the name of the technique, a purplish-black energy beam, over a hundred meters in diameter, shot into the sky.

Where the beam passed, the atmosphere was forcibly torn apart, and several patrol ships floating in the distance shook violently in the residual energy, alarms blaring throughout the Nova Corps headquarters.

When the beam dissipated, a huge hole appeared in the sky, taking a long time to heal.

Chen Tian turned around, his white hair dancing in the strong wind, a harmless, brilliant smile on his face: "I have many more methods like this.

Now—" he tilted his head, "Does anyone still want to send me to Klyn Prison?"

The entire government hall was silent.

Nova Prime's pupils constricted violently.

She saw behind Chen Tian that the torn atmosphere was slowly recovering, but the terrifying circular hole was still clearly visible.

The opposing Commanders' faces were ashen, their weapons unconsciously drooping.

The Head of Intelligence broke the silence with a trembling voice: "This… this power… if it hit Xandar…"

Chen Tian leisurely walked back to the center of the government hall, casually dusting off non-existent dust from his shoulder: "So, can we now have a good talk about cooperation?"

His smile was still gentle, but everyone present felt the chilling power behind that smile.

————

Thus, Chen Tian, with his uniquely 'kind' demeanor, successfully obtained the status of special advisor on Xandar.

The Nova Corps arranged a luxurious residence for him on the highest floor of the capital, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the entire glittering city.

On his first day of moving in, Chen Tian eagerly went to the Nova Corps' communication center.

He stood in front of the holographic projection table, his fingers rapidly swiping across the complex control interface.

"This frequency… no," he frowned, data streams constantly flashing in his eyes, "Try this band again."

The technical officers continuously operated the system.

When Chen Tian had them try the thirty-seventh communication protocol, he finally sighed and straightened up.

"It's too far," he rubbed his temples, "Regular communication simply can't reach Earth."

The Nova Corps' Chief Communications Officer hesitated: "We could try to establish a quantum communication relay closer to Earth, but it would take at least three months to establish a stable connection."

Chen Tian was silent for a moment, then suddenly turned to face the holographic recorder: "Then let's record a video first."

He tidied his collar, revealing a brilliant smile: "Hey everyone, miss me?"

After recording, Chen Tian held the storage chip in his hand, tossed it into the air, and spoke to Lia (Diablo) through his consciousness.

He knew Diablo had the ability to leave the summoning space without permission, but the appearance location was limited to himself and the characters he summoned.

(This was also Diablo's insidious side.

If it weren't for the previous mirror space where he (she) left the summoning space without permission and saved Chen Tian, Chen Tian wouldn't have known he (she) had this ability, and other summoned characters didn't.

Perhaps, this was the capriciousness of the beginner's gift package.)

In the following days, Chen Tian waited for Tony to find Thor and obtain the Infinity Stones before summoning Bayonetta, while also 'deeply understanding' Xandar's technology.

Every time he appeared, the surrounding officers and scientists would unconsciously tense up.

(Here to fix a bug: the protagonist can summon already appeared characters into the space regardless of distance, but after summoning them out again, the summoned characters can only appear next to him.)

—————

Time flew by, and it was soon 2014.

Early one morning, Chen Tian was leaning on the balcony railing, playing with a Nova Corps badge.

The Nova Corps badge in Chen Tian's hand gleamed with metallic luster in the morning light.

He casually tossed and caught the badge, his gaze, however, fixed on the light of the gradually rising Sun on the distant city skyline.

"Ah~ What a leisurely morning~" Bayonetta's lazy voice came from behind him.

She leaned against the balcony's glass door, holding a steaming cup of Xandar's special drink, "My Lord, you seem to be in a good mood?"

Chen Tian smiled without turning his head: "Hehe, I'm very curious what kind of expression Thanos will have when he discovers that three gems, which should have been in Odin's treasure vault, are missing."

"So boring…" a lazy voice came from the living room.

Saitama, wearing his iconic yellow jumpsuit, was sprawled on the sofa, idly flipping through a Xandar magazine, "There isn't even a decent supermarket sale here."

Chen Tian then turned around, his gaze falling on the white-haired girl who had appeared behind him at some point.

The girl's blue eyes sparkled with complex light, and although her face was full of vitality, her eyes already held a hint of maturity.

"Kiana Kaslana…" Chen Tian's lips curved into a playful smile, "Or should I call you Herrscher of the Void?"

Kiana was startled when she heard Chen Tian's words, then broke into a bright, sunny smile, her two white braids swaying.

"Commander~" she winked playfully, leaning slightly forward with her hands behind her back, "Just call me Kiana!"

After speaking, she skipped like a cheerful little canary to the edge of the balcony, resting her hands on the railing, her sapphire-like eyes sparkling as she looked down at the entire city.

"Wow! Those flying vehicles are so cool!" she exclaimed, pointing at the hovercars zipping through the air, "Even cooler than the Hyperion's carrier-based aircraft!"

Bayonetta sipped her drink, observing the lively girl with interest: "A newcomer? She seems very energetic~"

Saitama poked his head out from behind the magazine: "Oh? A noisy one has arrived."

Kiana turned around at his words, hands on her hips, proudly lifting her chin: "Hey, I'm not noisy! This lady is the strongest Valkyrie of Schicksal!"

Chen Tian stood up, looking at the ill-fated girl, "Kiana, welcome to a new World.

Here, you will have new companions, a new life, a new beginning, so."

Chen Tian also showed a bright, sunny smile, "Forget all the past hardships.

Here, you can unleash your true nature and your passion.

I'll cover everything for you."

Kiana's pupils trembled slightly, the sunlight filtering through Chen Tian's silhouette creating a golden halo in her eyes.

She suddenly remembered the fragmented memories she had seen while drifting in the Sea of Quanta—Sirin's mockery, Himeko-sensei's sacrifice, Mei's turning back… All the painful memories at this moment seemed to dissipate like mist pierced by sunlight.

"Thank you… Commander…"

Her voice was tinged with a slight sob, and she suddenly threw herself into Chen Tian's arms.

Her white braids traced a graceful arc in the air, their tips gently brushing Chen Tian's cheek.

Chen Tian could feel the girl's thin shoulders trembling slightly, like a young bird that had finally found its way home.

Bayonetta put down her cup, a knowing smile curving her red lips, and quietly retreated to the living room.

Saitama scratched his bald head, wisely continuing to flip through his magazine—though the magazine had long been upside down.

"It's okay to cry," Chen Tian gently patted Kiana's back, his voice softly flowing into Kiana's ears, "Here, you can be your true self."

Kiana buried her face in Chen Tian's shoulder, warm tears soaking his clothes.

She smelled the scent of the Sun, and at that moment, she suddenly realized that she could finally shed the heavy titles of 'Savior' and 'Valkyrie,' and just be an ordinary girl who could cry and laugh.

"I… I'm actually so scared…" she whimpered, her voice muffled, "Scared of letting everyone down… scared of not being able to control the Herrscher's power…"

Chen Tian's eyes glowed with gentle light: "Now you don't have to be afraid."

He rubbed Kiana's head, "I'm here."

In the distance, Xandar's two moons happened to be in the same orbit, overlapping in the sky to form a heart-shaped light and shadow.

Hovercars flowed ceaselessly through the city, and the melodious morning bugle call echoed from Nova Corps headquarters.

Everything was full of hope, as warm as this embrace.

Kiana finally looked up, her eyes still red, but already beaming with a brilliant smile: "Then Commander has to keep his word!

If I cause trouble in the future, you have to clean up the mess!"

"Alright, alright~" Chen Tian couldn't help but laugh, "But before that…"

He magically pulled out a card from his pocket, "How about going to the commercial district to buy some new clothes?

I heard Xandar's latest combat suits can change their appearance as you wish…"

"Really?!" Kiana's eyes instantly lit up, and she snatched the card, "I want to buy ten sets! No, twenty sets!"

She bounced towards the elevator, then suddenly turned back and gave Chen Tian a 'chu' kiss on the cheek, "Commander is the best!"

Watching the girl happily leave, Chen Tian touched the spot where he was kissed, shaking his head with a chuckle.

Bayonetta appeared beside him again at some point, saying meaningfully: "It seems you've picked up a clingy little cat~"

"Yes," Chen Tian looked at the descending indicator light of the elevator, "But this is good too."

"At least, she doesn't have to carry so much pain anymore."
