"Damn, damn, damn."
Peter Parker kept muttering, trying to shake off the relentless pursuer with his Webbing.
The two of them, moving as if they were on flat ground between the skyscrapers, attracted the attention of the New York citizens below.
The reason for this situation started with his joining the Osborn Group.
After getting an internship opportunity at Osborn, he naturally met Curt Connors, who was doing research there.
Especially after learning that his father, who had passed away in his childhood, had once been Doctor Connors' partner, he gave Connors a set of equations left by his father, helping the other party's experiment, which had been stuck in a bottleneck, to proceed smoothly.
Then, after a few days, he saw that Doctor Connors, who had chosen to experiment on his own body due to the pressure from the Osborn company, had turned into a giant... Lizard Monster?
"Fleeing insect!" Connors roared, his right hand plunged into the wall, tearing off a large chunk and throwing it hard at Peter.
In an instant, Peter's Spider-Sense kicked in. He yanked on his webbing, pulling his body away from the stone wall.
But seeing the wall falling towards the screaming crowd below, he cursed inwardly. He immediately stopped his escape, rapidly firing his web-shooters and successfully suspending the stone wall mid-air.
"Got you!" Before Peter could breathe a sigh of relief, the Lizard Monster's figure leaped high into the air, slamming its body onto Peter's back and instantly forcing him to the ground.
Doctor Lizard's left hand, like a steel claw, grabbed Peter's red and blue suit and tore at it, leaving three bloody gashes. His right hand then lunged towards Peter's eyes, but was blocked by Peter's right hand.
With the advantage of overwhelming strength, Doctor Lizard's claws slowly advanced towards Peter's eyes. Just as it was about to pierce his brain, a feeling of weakness washed over his body, as if the effects of the Serum were about to wear off.
Taking advantage of Doctor Lizard's weakness, Peter kicked him away and immediately shot out webbing, disappearing into the city.
Far away, the sirens of police cars gradually sounded. Doctor Lizard looked at the disappearing Spider-Man, angrily exhaling. He was then drawn to something that had fallen on the ground.
Looking at the work ID that had fallen after being torn, Doctor Lizard's eyes flashed with a cold light: "So that spider was you, Peter Parker. You are the final result of your father's work."
Putting away the certificate, Doctor Lizard took advantage of the fact that the effects of the drug hadn't worn off yet, and vanished into the sewer before the police cars arrived.
That night, Peter Parker painfully crawled into his room. He tossed off his suit, and winced in pain at the huge wound that stretched from his chest to his abdomen in the mirror.
The pain made him think of how Bai Ye looked after he beat him to a pulp during training. Didn't that guy feel any pain?
Peter took out his phone from his pocket and dialed Bai Ye's number.
In the newly purchased villa, Bai Ye was on the bed with Camilla, about to invite her to play poker, when the phone hanging on the clothes rack immediately rang.
He gently covered Camilla's lips as she leaned in for a kiss. Bai Ye picked up the phone and saw the caller ID: Spider-Man: What's the call about so late...?
He casually answered the phone, his tone a little cold: "Hello, what's up? Calling me so late at night."
"Bai, I caused the birth of a monster with my own hands." Peter Parker, holding the phone, recounted the whole story and asked Bai Ye for help.
After listening to the whole story, and looking at Camilla, who was sending him flirtatious glances, Bai Ye pondered for a moment and said, "You want me to help? First, we need to find out where the doctor is now. Do you know his whereabouts?"
"Uh... I don't, but I know the doctor's house. I think we might be able to find him there," Peter Parker considered.
"My time is precious. Call me after you've found him." Bai Ye said and hung up the phone, then looked at Camilla, who was lying on his chest.
He'd spent the whole day exercising, playing games with Camilla in bed, occasionally exchanging feelings with Gwen over the phone, and sometimes Kingpin would call to check on the progress of the book.
He was so busy, he didn't have time to help Peter find someone, he'd wait until Peter actually found him.
Looking at Camilla, Bai Ye's lips curled slightly, "You just awakened your superpowers today, I think we can change things up a bit tonight."
"New ways?" Camilla said, covering her mouth, her face flushed.
On the other side, Peter held the phone he had just hung up, feeling the pain from his wound, and he twitched his lips.
I can't let things escalate any further. I need to take a day off tomorrow, find Doctor Connors. Maybe everything can still be salvaged. Peter planned.
The next day, after a night of turmoil within the small building, Bai Ye looked at his muscular body in the mirror, covered in scars from the previous night's power surge. He sighed softly and reminded himself.
"Women have led me to this, Bai Ye, oh Bai Ye, this can't continue. Starting today, I swear off women!"
As his words faded, his phone rang.
He thought it was Peter calling. Looking down, the contact was labeled "Director's Little Darling."
"Hey, Gwen, I thought you'd still be in class? What are you doing calling me..." Bai Ye said, chuckling, immediately forgetting his resolution. However, Gwen's voice on the other end was filled with panic.
"Bai Ye, a giant monster that looks like a lizard just escaped in the school. It's running around, looking for people!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Gwen spoke into the phone, hearing the constant rumbling from Bai Ye's end, which made her worry. "Bai, did something happen to you too?"
"Nothing's wrong on my side. Where are you at school? I'll come find you." Bai Ye said calmly, his figure already turning into an afterimage, continuously advancing through the sound of exploding air.
"My classmates and I are all in the library."
"Got it. Three minutes… no, just two minutes. I'll be there. Just stay put." Bai Ye said, not hanging up the phone, keeping the call active.
He knew that Gwen needed a sense of security most of all in a crisis, so he used his Internal Energy to protect the phone from damage while rushing to the school at a speed invisible to the naked eye.
Inside the Midtown High School library, a giant bone claw easily tore open the heavy door under everyone's horrified gazes.
Then, a large head poked in, its irritated eyes fixed on everyone in the library.
