Sylas watched them, a small grimace on his face as he caught the way their eyes lingered on each other. With a sigh, he stepped to stand behind Willow, keeping his gaze locked with Navian, face to face, height to height.
"We need to get out of the forest first, then the crystal will lead us to the conductor." He pulled the crystal from his pocket, dangling it in front of Willow. She snatched it without hesitation.
"Ezrik sent me a track of where he and Evren are heading. They met some explorers who agreed to help them," Navian said, relief softening his voice.
"Good to know," Sylas muttered.
Willow handed the crystal back to him and started walking toward the cave entrance, the boys following closely. She glanced up at the sky. It mirrored the desert above, endless, dark but still strangely bright.
"How do we get out of here?"
"We'll need to find a beast that's about to take off," Sylas said.
