Navian wore a hard look, absently running his fingers through Willow's hair as she slept against him.
It was rare to see her be this unguarded and peaceful. Looking away, he met Sylas' piercing gaze.
"My parents know I killed Sutton," he said flatly.
Sylas tilted his head, lips curling. "Trust me, many know you killed Sutton. Mostly because you wanted them to." He leaned forward, his sunset-colored eyes catching the firelight, glowing with an eerie gleam. "What kind of message were you trying to send?"
Navian arched a brow, the faintest smirk tugging at his mouth. "Why would I tell you that? Figure it out yourself."
Sylas let out a low laugh, amused. "Oh, I like you. You didn't kill me for mummy and daddy because you want me on your side, right? Not the faction's... yours."
"Yeah." Navian nodded.
