Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Akari Yagi… the daughter of Toshinori Yagi, All Might.

Unlike her father, Akari didn't walk with the pride of a hero. She walked with hesitation, as if each step carried the weight of a world she wasn't sure she could protect.

Tonight, she was on patrol. Not alone, but with Mirio Togata, one of Nighteye's brightest interns.

Akari: (hugging her arms) Sometimes… I feel like I don't really deserve One For All.

Mirio: (turning his head) Deserve? That quirk chose you. That has to mean something.

Akari: (shaking her head) But you were trained your whole life… You were supposed to be the one. Everyone expected it to be you. And yet, at the end, all eyes turned to me. Just because the quirk picked me.

Her voice cracked slightly. She clenched her fists.

Akari: What if I'm not strong enough? What if I destroy everything my father built? His legacy… his image…

Mirio: Akari… your father's image isn't a wall you have to stand behind. It's a light you can carry forward. You don't have to be him. You just have to be you.

They were silent just for a moment.

Then suddenly, a thunderous bang shook the ground beneath their feet, followed by a low rumble that made the streetlamps flicker for an instant.

Akari: (stopping in her tracks, eyes wide) Did you feel that?

Mirio: (nodding, instantly alert) Yeah… stay sharp.

They moved quickly, scanning the area. The streets looked empty. The vibrations… they were coming from below.

Without a word, Mirio phased through the ground, disappearing beneath the surface for a moment. Akari waited. When he reappeared, his expression was grim.

Mirio: Right under us... There's… an underground illegal fight ring. And something big is down there.

He guided Akari to a hidden entrance at the side of an abandoned warehouse. The heavy door groaned as Mirio forced it open, the air inside thick with sweat, smoke, and the muffled roar of a crowd.

He tapped his comm device, his voice calm but urgent.

Mirio: This is Lemillion, Nighteye's agency. We've discovered an illegal fight operation. Sending location now. Requesting backup.

With that, he gestured for Akari to follow. Together, they stepped deeper inside, the sounds growing louder with each step.

Then they saw it.

In the center of the ring, surrounded by cheering criminals and gamblers, stood a monster. Red-skinned. Muscles carved like stone. And four huge arms.

Akari: (whispering, her voice trembling) W-What… is that?

The beast slammed two fists into its chest, shaking the metal cage around it. The crowd screamed in excitement. To them, this wasn't a nightmare. It was entertainment.

The situation shifted in an instant as one of the members shouted from the back.

Police are coming! Everybody move!

The crowd erupted, chairs crashing, money scattering, footsteps pounding toward the exits.

The underground fight ring turned into a frenzy of desperate criminals trying to vanish before the law arrived.

Mirio acted fast. He slammed the heavy door shut and locked it, his voice firm and commanding.

Mirio: (gritting his teeth) Don't Let Anyone Get Out Of Here!

The monster stood under the dim lights, four massive fists tightening, crouched low. Then, with a Jump, landed outside the cage with a crash that shook the entire floor.

Akari: (eyes wide, stumbling back) H-he jumped out!?

Before she could process it, the monster bolted toward the far side of the arena, running with terrifying speed.

Mirio: (pointing) Go after him! I'll handle the rest!

Akari: (nodded) Got it!

She sprinted after the creature.

Moments later, she burst out of a side exit into the cool night air.

Silence.

The alley stretched out empty, bathed in pale moonlight. No crowd, no footsteps, no monster. Just stillness… as if nothing had been there at all.

Akari: (panting, scanning the shadows) Where… Did it go?

She looked around, but no one was there. Suddenly, there was a movement. A figure walking hurriedly at the far end of the alley.

Akari: (sprinting forward) Hey! Stop right there!

The boy froze. His clothes were rough, torn at the sleeves, his hands clutching a small, worn duffel bag tight against his chest. He turned slowly, fear painted across his face.

Boy: P-please… let me go.

Akari: (stepping closer) Where are you going with that bag?

Boy: (clutching it tighter, panicked) I… I made this money in the ring. Somehow… somehow I won. Please, don't send me to prison! I swear I'll never come back here!

Akari: (looking at him)

Boy: I… I need this money for my mother's treatment. She's all I have. Without it… She'll… she'll die.

Akari's eyes softened for a second, a flicker of sympathy flashing through her doubt. His words carried weight, but something about the way he gripped that bag… the way his eyes darted away whenever she looked at him… it didn't sit right.

Akari: …Treatment?

Boy: (nodding rapidly, almost begging) Yes! Please… I'll do anything. Just don't take this away.

She studied him for a moment, then took a small step closer.

Akari: Did you see a giant… monster around here? Four arms. Red skin. Huge.

For a moment, the boy froze. His jaw tightened ever so slightly before he forced himself to shake his head.

Boy: (quickly) N-no. I didn't see anything like that. Just chaos inside. I ran before it got worse.

Akari stared, something about his answer felt too quick, too rehearsed. But his trembling, his desperate grip on that bag… it looked real enough.

Akari: (sighs, stepping back a little) …Alright. You can go. But don't tell anyone about this. I mean No One!

Boy: (eyes widening, shocked) You'll… you'll really let me go?

Akari: (nodding slightly) I don't think you're dangerous. So… you can go.

Boy: A.. alright!

With that, he turned and hurried off into the shadows.

—--------------------------------------------------

By the time Akari returned to the warehouse, Police had already swarmed the area, hauling out panicked gang members in handcuffs.

Mirio stood near the entrance, speaking to an officer. His usual bright face was clouded with seriousness.

Mirko: (approached her) What happened? Where's the giant monster?

Akari: (softly) …It got away.

Mirio: (frustrated) Are you serious? Akari… how could you let something that big just run away right in front of you?

She clenched her fists, her voice shaky as she tried to explain.

Akari: (hesitant) I-I don't know… it's almost like it just… disappeared or something. One second it was there, and the next… it was gone.

Mirio: (stared at her for a while, sighs) Alright. Just… next time, be cautious. That thing didn't look like a joke.

One of the officers stepped forward, his notepad in hand, glancing between them.

Police Officer: We've… actually heard reports about a red, four-armed monster before. To be honest, we thought it was just some rumor.

Mirio: (serious, shaking his head) No. It's real. I saw it right in front of me. That thing was massive… and dangerous. We need to stop it before it hurts anyone.

The officer nodded, scribbling into his notes.

Police Officer: You're absolutely right. We'll take it from here. You both have done more than enough by bringing this to light. You can leave this place to us now. And… Thank you.

—--------------------------------------------------

The chaos slowly faded behind them as Akari and Mirio walked down the quieter streets.

Mirio: (glancing at her) Hey… don't mind my harshness back there. I just didn't want you being careless. That thing was no joke.

Akari shoved her hands into her coat pockets, her usual habit when she had nothing else to say.

Akari: Yeah, I know… I messed up.

But then her steps faltered. Her fingers brushed against nothing but fabric.

Akari: (in her mind, panicking) My pockets… empty? Where's…. where's my hero license?!

Her eyes widened slightly, but she quickly masked it, forcing herself to stay calm.

Mirio: (noticing her freeze) Hm?... What happened?

Akari: (stuttering, then forcing a small smile) N-no… it's nothing. Just a… hiccup.

She hurried forward, her steps quicker now, like she was running away..

Akari: (waving casually) I'm getting late. See ya tomorrow.

Mirio stopped, watching her with a puzzled frown

Akari: (in her mind) That boy… it had to be him.
