Dear diary,
Year- 3025 Date- 6th of March
This is my first journal entry ever. Right now I am sitting over the ledge of a building. I am not going to jump off or anything; my friends and I are waiting for someone.
???: Hey, introduce us already.
Gosh. These guys are impatient, more impatient than Mom telling me to come eat downstairs..... well, the guy on my left is Kane.
Kane: Hey!
Kind of the brooding and serious type, has silver hair, and looks good... nothing else interesting about him, to be honest.
Kane: The hell is that supposed to mean??? And I am not brooding.
Sure thing... This guy can become super serious anytime, its scaryy.
???: Do me tooo!!!
yea yea hold your horses, this is Haki, she has purple hair for some weird odd reason, and she is a very lively person, and is dumb
Haki: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT???
....Most of the time. My name is Damian! Damian Black, I have black hair, and it's wavy! Also, unlike these "fair" gentlemen and women, I have brown skin!
Kane: Anyways, where are these guys? For elementals, these guys are slow.
Haki: No regular elemental has to face us.
We suddenly hear shouting and loud banging from our side; we turn and voila.
Damian: Speak of the devil, they're coming!!
Three young guys and two girls are coming towards us, and by the looks of the faces.
Damian:- And it looks like they don't want cupcakes!! (everyone getting up)
Kane:- Alright (stretching a bit), so get beaten up now, or run and get beaten up later?
Damian:- Yeah, no, I choose escape; last one to my house is a rotten egg!!
Haki: ....cringe
Lucas: GET BACK HERE, BLACK, AND THE OTHER TWO!
That guy there, his name is Lucas; you will be hearing about him a lot.
Kane: How has he not learned our name yet??
Damian: You forgot? I am his favorite! Let's just go already!
And, cue the intense parkour sequence. Even though we were just some kids, we were able to do stuff that no other kid should be able to do, even adults. The problem is
Lucas: You are quick, but I am Quicker! (literally using his feet as jetpacks)
Of course you can do that... and so intense parkour continued! Now I am jumping over building gaps, over dumpsters, and flipping through tight gaps, Kane sliding down buildings and pipes, and haki...well.
Haki: ( swinging) YEA BABYY
She um....is swinging around on the power lines....
Suddenly, a fireball came and hit me, and I fell of balanced and tumbled down into an Alleyway. I hit every possible ledge and balcony, and landed right in the dumpster. I very slowly and painfully crawled out of the dumpster.
Damian: KANE... HAKI... A LITTLE HELP HERE??
Lucas:- No help for you, Damian ( as he appears in front of me)
Damian:.... well this su-(gets punched in the face)
And thus the absolute beatdown started; it doesn't feel good when you are getting punched and kicked, that too with elemental powers, like a fire punch, or getting moved around in the wind, and I was suffering for quite a bit. You might be wondering why I don't fight back.... the thing is.... I don't have any elements to fight back with…
Damian: Stop already..... I haven't even done anything to you....
Lucas:- this is everything I need from you...
After 10 minutes, they stopped; I guess they thought it was enough, and they just left afterwards. As I stood up, I could feel the blood running down my face, feeling all the dirt on my body and the burn marks on my hand. Good thing that damage done due to mana elements doesn't last long on me, but it sure does hurt as much as the real deal.
Damian:....Dammit, how do I explain this to Mom and Dad...
Haki and Kane: Damian!
Damian: About time!
These guys are in the same boat as me; neither of us has any powers...
Haki: (kneeling beside me) Oh no!
Kane: ok ... this is too much…even for them
Haki: We have to get you to a doctor!! Quick, Kane, hel-
Damian: NO!
Haki and kane: …..(silence)
Damian: ....there is no need; it will heal in a bit, you already know that.
Haki: You have blood all over you, Damian!! Not to mention the boot marks on you too
Damian: It's fine….
Kane: Oh….I get it
Haki: What?!
Kane: ...its your birthday…. And you don't want to worry your parents
Damian: ….
Haki: Oh...
Damian: It's fine, I can come up with an excuse, you know
Kane: Oh please..... tell me this great excuse of yours
Damian: Oh uh…. Well … I fell down the side of a building while running with you, and an aunty was cooking, and the flame went out of control, and while falling by her window I got a little burned, and fell in the dumpster-filled boots, and voila, me.
Kane and Haki: ...(look at each other and look back) your parents, your problem
Damian: whaaat? It was a good enough excuse, anyways, Haki, bandage me up, will you.
Haki: yea, give me a sec (takes out bandages)
As she was patching me up, I remembered all the times that idiot had beaten us up. Physically, we were stronger, but only due to them having powers; we were, well, beaten up.
They leave us with broken bones, bloodied up, and exhausted. We can't exactly go to teachers because they hate us as much.
The only reason we aren't already dead is because of my father. My father is also powerless, but he has crazy strength, like enough to beat the strongest guys anywhere. He has the most influence in the area; many people don't like him, but they can't do anything to him cuz of the power!
Damian:- Sure is confusing how he even got that powerful
Kane:- What are you even saying? You didn't hit your head or something, right?
Damian:- Yeah, no, I'm good. Let's go to my house then.
Haki:- Like this? You're covered in bandages, you know.
Damian:- I came up with a good excuse, right? Don't worry (gets up and starts walking)
Haki and Kane:- (look at each other) How can we not (follow behind him)
As we reached home, I remembered that even though people fear my father, they still find ways to annoy me and beat me up- pathetic, really. I can't do anything to my dad, so they target me.
As we turned the corner, I saw my house. Battered from all the stones thrown at it, paint scraping off due to wear and tear from my father's training, and the cracks well... from my mom. Even though it looked bad, it was one of the biggest houses in size, because of the overpopulation; quite the luxury if you say so, well… except the damage. Partly our fault.
As I finished my monologue, someone opened the door with the biggest smile and the heartiest of all.
Thenus Black: Hello kids!! Welcome ba- WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO YOU DAMIAN???!!
The man running towards me is Thenus Black, my father. He doesn't really look like it, but he is the most respectable and wisest person I have seen, but this-
Damian: Have a good look, da-
Thenus Black: (picks him up a little too fast) WHAT HAPPENED, DAMIAN? WHO DID THIS (as he is checking every bruise and also bawling his eyes out)
Damian:- Dad ( about to vomit) too fast..
Thenus:- wait no no- ( get vomited on)
Damian:- ..he…hehe
Thenus:- (0-0 -_- 0-0) ... never mind this, what happened Damian?? Why are you covered in bruises??
Damian: Welllll, I uh fell down the side of a building while running with these guys….
Both Haki and Kane: Oh, this guy is dead
Thenus:…. And what about the burn marks?
As I looked around, I saw Haki and Kane; they both were struggling to stand. Even though my dad doesn't have any elemental powers, he does have ichur, and when someone has a lot, it loops around them, enveloping people around it; it has mass and is dense, making it a dangerous thing alone for others weaker. But it doesn't really bother me.
Damian:...when I fell down the side of the building, an aunty was cooking, and the flame went out of control, and while falling by her window I got a little burned and fell in the dumpster filled boots and voila... me.
Sure wasn't convincing, I will tell you that, well it looks like I won't be able to escape the nagging today.
Thenus: ...ok just be careful
Damian, Kane, and Haki:[ ….huh?.....huh???!!]
Kane and Haki: [that worked???]
Damian: It worked??!!
Thenus: What worked?
Damian: Oh, um…. The light- the light is working again??
Thenus: uh yea, it never broke in the first place.
Damian: Oh! That's great, very grea- I mean good, very good.
Thenus: (looks towards Haki and Kane)... he didn't hit his head, right?
Kane and Haki :( shocked and dumbfounded)....
Thenus : (looking at them being dumbfounded) ….what? Do I have something on my face?
Damian: uh yea…. The vomit..
Thenus: …. Well, come on in, kids, the party is about to get started!!.... And I have to clean this…..
I should tell you what my dad looks like; he has brownish skin with curly, wavy hair, he is very tall and wears polos and pants all the time, as his life depends upon it, and he loves tattoos, basically the coolest guy you can think of. If you can't guess already, I'm a big fan of his.
Kane and Haki: thank you for letting us in, sir.
Thenus: Oh, don't bother you guys; basically live here
He wasn't even showing courtesy; they really did basically live here. Due to the overpopulation, there wasn't even enough space. Where we live was a hot spot, meaning this was a civilian spot; there are other places like farm spots, industrial spots, commerce spots, and many more. Luxertimna is divided into these spots, and we are in the most compact part of the civilian spots. So these guys (Kane and Haki) are parents, and they live in our house too.
Damian: On that note, what were you guys even doing?? It's because of you guys I'm in this state.
Haki: Oh, it will all be worth it
Thenus: Damian! Come here, will you!
Damian: Coming! ( gets to his father)
Thenus: Ok, so listen, Haki's dad is going to get your brother from school, so in the meantime we'll get cake for your birthday. How does that sound?
Damian: Wow... getting my cake by bringing me along?
Thenus:.....yes
So as we were about to go out, we heard a voice, a voice I am all familiar with.
Aindrilia Black: You two idiots get back here!!
That, that is my mother, Aindrilia Black. She has golden-coloured hair and blue eyes, and she also has a special thing about her.
Thenus: Yeah, honey, what happened?
Aindrilia: Take this ( gives them a box); it's sweets for Mr Virex.
Thenus: Sweeeet, anything you want us to bring?
Aindrilia: Yeah, concrete.
Thenus: Huh? What for?
Aindrilia: For the house you keep breaking!!
As I look back at the house, I see even more bits breaking apart, prolly cuz of dad using his ichur unintentionally. Oh, I haven't told you about ichur; just think of it as a battery source for elementals to use to make the elements. The more you have, the stronger you are basically.
Thenus: ...oh..... welllll it doesn't really matter now does it!!, and besides, if you get angry, no fun time at night remember!!!
Aindrilia: ( Blushing super hard) OUR SON IS RIGHT THERE!!
As she said that, she released a lot of ichur. Oh, that special thing about mom I told you about? Yeah, she is the strongest lightning elemental in the whole of Luxertermina.
Damian: MOM WAIT!
Aindrilia: What . dear . son!
Damian: Um.... You are breaking the house even more….
Mom looked up and saw... more cracks...
Aindrila:....(blushing even more) JUST GO ALREADY.
Both Thenus and Damian: Yes, ma'am! (salute and run)
As we ran away, we were laughing together like we had no shame in the world.
We were walking towards a shop. My dad always takes our family there, kind of like a regular spot for us. I could feel the stares of people around me, just because we don't have any powers; people always judge us. I couldn't help but get anxious because of it.
Thenus: Don't mind them, Damian; their opinions of us don't matter.
Damian: Really hard to do that when they make it so obvious.
Thenus: ....Just leave it, focus on where you are going.
After walking for a little while, we reached the place, or at least the building where it is. In the civil zones, you will hardly find places where shops are in rows; any nook and cranny is fought over. The building's side is filled with neon signs just filled with advertising; one stands out in the middle of it all. In Big red letters, I see it.
AVALANCHE.
This place.... is the happiest in the world for me, you know. It's the only place where every person there doesn't see me and my family and my friends as a piece of crap.
We enter the restaurant after going up 10 FLIGHT OF STAIRS! I always become breathless at the end, you know. Anyways, sidetracking there, as we enter the restaurant I see someone; he is standing behind the main counter washing some dishes, he is big, very big, not in height though, after seeing us he swished his white hair back and exclaimed with a big smile.
Virex: Thenus! Damian! Happy birthd- What the hell happened to you???
Damian: (looking back at the bandages) oooh this...I just fell; otherwise I am fine, for the most part.
Virex: Oh....sure, well I was going to drop by for the party.
Thenus: yeah about that, we need a cake, a biggg cake.
Virex: …..you mean you didn't buy it already?
Thenus:.....i dropped the previous one....(looking down with dissapointment)
Virex: ... sigh, Thenus, what will you do without me ( turns around to get a cake)
Thenus: Thank you, Vivi, very good (thumbs up)
Virex: It's Virex, thank you very much.
Thenus: Yeah, I know, VIVI.
As I looked at Dad snickering like an idiot, and Virex also laughing, I was looking around the restaurant and looking at all the trinkets that we were there; it was like a pub, a very old pub. I asked my dad about it, and he said that it was a 90s design or something. Mr. Virex apparently was really fascinated by it and decided to build it. Don't know where he got the inspiration for it.
Virex: ....you know, you should tell him, it is about time.
Thenus: Vivi, I told you again and again, I am leaving him out of this life; I won't let him enter the world I lived in.
Virex:... If you don't, then he will be alone; he will be clueless when it happens.
Thenus: he already knows enough; he knows how to be a man like me, hehe.
Virex: it's no time for jokes. ( prepares the cake in the cooking area)
Thenus: ( comes above the counter and takes the cake) I am not joking ( jumps back over). He can live a good life even without me.
As I turn back, I see Dad in a stern expression coming up to me and taking me in.
Thenus: Let's go damian, we got the cake.
Damian: Yay... cake time, let's go!
And we go back, happily towards our home.
Virex: .....
After that visit, Dad took me home, but we took the long way. I didn't know why, but I didn't question it. We reached home to see it completely barren from the outside. Well, what do I expect? As I opened the door to the house, I saw darkness for a minute. Confused, I called out to anyone in the house.
Damian: Helloo?? Hellooooooooo
Nothing. As I turned around towards Dad to ask him what was happening, all I heard was the door shutting on me. Now being in the darkness got me really scared; I was afraid of the dark, and this didn't help at all.
Damian: h-he-hello?? Mom? Dad? Where are you guys???
As I ended my sentence, I heard the flicking of a switch, and I saw my dad on the light switch, grinning like he had just won the lottery or something like that.
As I was going to shout at him, I heard, Confetti? As I turned around, I saw everyone I love and care about around one table, all shouting.
All: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAMIAN!!
