One of the assassins runs out from behind a bookshelf. He reaches behind his back to grab his weapon. With his other hand, he puts it on the railing to swing his body on top of it. He leans forward on the railing. Right before he falls, he kicks off of it, launching himself at Dai'chi. He swiftly pulls out his dagger to swing at Dai'chi. Dai'chi gets lower to the ground and takes out his katana. The yellow flames flicker dark red as he swings. His blade effortlessly slices through the assassin, cutting his torso in half and separating the wrist the dagger was in.
The assassin doesn't stop. His upper half lands behind Dai'chi. It slides forward as the torso lands perfectly on the lower half and reconnects. The assassin puts his arm back as his hand flies back into place. He turns around and slashes the hand of the unaware Dai'chi. Dai'chi turns around and grabs the assassin's face with his other hand. " Owhokire," Dai'chi says. The assassin catches fire as his regeneration becomes useless. The assassin falls to the floor. "That was more difficult than I thought it would be. You don't normally see assassins with that high of regen," Dai'chi states, his hand regenerates.
Lilith scoffs," Maybe you shouldn't let your guard down. The only reason that hit you is you stopped being aware of your surroundings the moment the assassin died," she says. One of the assassins jumps down from the upper layer. He dashes at her with his dagger up, ready to attack her. Lilith pulls out her katana, "Blade of love, first form, broken heart," she says, she pierces her blade into the enemy's chest. Their heart rate slowly speeds up, and it continues until their heart explodes, killing the assassin.
Another assassin runs at Dai'chi, this time with a katana. Dai'chi attempts to kill them quickly. He swings his katana downwards on the assassin, attempting to split them perfectly in half. The assassin redirects the moment of Dai'chi's blade to the side. The assassin uses this opening to move forward towards Dai'chi, to get an attack in. "fmuhire moyeb," Dai'chi chants. A magic circle appears on the ground beneath him. A stone pillar shoots out of the ground, hitting the assassin in the stomach. "Blade Demon Style, 5th form, Pentagram cut," he says. Dai'chi cuts off all the limbs of the assassin before decapitating them. He burns the remains of their body. "These guys are so annoying," Dai'chi says.
Three more assassins run at Lilith. "Tell me about it," she says, "Blade of love, second form, unrequited love." She dashes past the three assassins and stands behind them. She slowly sheaths her blade. When she does, the three assassins split into four pieces each. More assassins come out and start to surround them. Just how many lower thugs did the church send at us? It seems more likely that they hired outside people to take care of us, rather than wasting their own troops," she says. They prepare to fight, then the spearman stands up. He takes the cloth off his spear and takes a fighting position. Sparks appear around him.
In an instant, he disappears. Sparks of lightning line his trail. He reappears behind one of the assassins. He stabs them through the back with his spear. Lightning rages throughout their body before the assassin explodes. Lightning continues to consume the room as the assassins die, one by one. They attempt to fight back, but it's pointless. In under 30 seconds, all the assassins are quickly wiped out. The person stops, and they swing their spear to the side, flinging the blood off. They spin their spear and bring it back up, resting it on their neck. "You looked like you were in a bit of a difficult situation there," he says.
Lilith sighs, "Not really. Honestly, it was more of a pain than anything. Those assassins weren't going to be able to do any real damage. The church was foolish to think they were going to kill us with those weaklings, but thanks anyway," she says.
"The situation didn't look like that to me, darling. I guess I should just be grateful that I got a thank you at all, though, " He says. Suddenly, outside, a huge commotion starts as people run away.
A giant bone dragon comes down from the sky. It lands directly in front of the Adventurers' Guild, staring through the glass doors. Satoshi slides down the leg and walks inside. "Who the hell are you to call her 'Darling'? Some lowly Adventurer like you doesn't have that right," He says.
Lilith sighs, "It's fine Satoshi, he's always like this. I'd like to introduce you to Vajra, The Eternal Lightning Spear. He's an assassin that was alive and fought in the war back during the Red Era," she says, "He has a close relationship with Yehn Pohs, so that's why he talks so lax like this. He's one of the strongest S-rank Adventurers." Vajra takes a bow, annoying Satoshi more.
"I think I remember you," Dai'chi says. "You played a really big part in the war. It's a shame that the outcome of the war was decided before it ever even began." He sighs, reminiscing about old times.
The giant bone dragon outside begins to change. A dark mist begins to surround it before the bone dragon completely disappears. The mist heads inside and is absorbed into Satoshi's hand. "I don't remember seeing him during the war. At the same time, I don't even remember if the war even happened or not. It happened way too long ago for me to care anymore," Satoshi says.
Lilith puts her hands in her pockets. "I'm going to head back to the base. I have confirmed that something is going on, even if it isn't the church planning something. I'll leave it to him to figure out; it takes too much brain power for me to care," She says. She walks out of the Adventurers' guild.
"I'm going to leave now, too," Dai'chi says, "I'm going to go do some training. This fight has shown me where I'm lacking and how much stronger I need to be, despite how pointless and boring it was." He also walks out of the Guild, heading towards a teleporter near the center of the city. Satoshi summons his dragon and then flies away. Vajra sighs, then begins cleaning up the bodies.
"Satoshi makes it back to the Crusaders' base a few days later. He de-summons his dragon and teleports back to his room. He quickly falls asleep. People are yelling outside his room, but his loud snoring quickly causes them to stop. He peacefully continues to sleep.
