Galerius stands opposite the undead horsemen, his arms crossed as his eyes dart around, flared up with gale mana, searching for the necromancer.
Where is he? Is this some type of spell? He shouldn't be able to conceal his aura from me unless it's equal to the pure mana of a fay, Galerius thinks, focusing completely on trying to find the necromancer.
The undead horseman lunges at Galerius.
But Galerius, unbothered, his arms still crossed, simply jumps out of the way, still turning his head, looking for the necromancer.
Why can't I seem to find him?
The undead horseman immediately after swiping the air charges in again, roaring, "Argggh!"
But Galerius just takes a couple steps back.
Mmm… maybe if I get wider view
As the undead horseman crashes into a pile of rubble, Galerius propels himself high into the air. Hovering briefly, now able to see the whole city, he looks around him.
I still can't find him. Even at this height…
The undead horseman leaps into the sky and tries to strike at his back, but as the attack connects with Galerius's layer of gale armour, it immediately diverts the attack to the side rather than at him.
Galerius continues looking around, back turned.
My gale armour's repel mode should hold him for a bit.
Back still turned, the undead horseman continues relentlessly trying to hit him, but each time the attack gets diverted.
Where could he possibly have gone…
The undead begins to descend back down now, but before it does, it tries to thrust one last time.
Galerius bursts out, "DAMMIT, THIS IS USELESS!" and instantly smacks the undead horseman to side . It flies down through the air across the city, hitting the ground and causing a large cloud of dust and debris to explode.
Galerius slowly floats to the ground.
"First, let me deal with this annoyance. Then I will look properly."
But as he floats down, a green orb swoops in beside him.
A voice reverberates in his head. Galerius… I found no living soul. All have perished.
Galerius finishes floating to the ground, his gale mana flaring up intensely around him.
"Why did I allow this to happen? Why? Why… WHY!"
"THIS IS ALL MY FAULT, DAMMIT!"
Galerius grits his teeth, gale surging around him furiously.
Galela's soothing voice reverberates through tension in his mind.
Calm down, Galerius. Rash emotion will be your downfall in this battle, so please focus so you can win this. You can cry about it later. Her voice is regal and calm in his mind.
Galerius instantly regains his composure.
Breathing in and out.
His face becomes completely stoic, the raging gale flowing off his nicely toned body.
As he is about to propel himself forward, Galela speaks again. He's coming…
The undead horseman comes charging, dust kicking up behind him, wildly galloping as both him and his war horse screech at the top of there voices while surging with immense crimson mana
Galerius's spread his feet apart lifting his arms up to his face,
Taking up a full stance.
"It's time to take this a little more seriously."
Would you like me to look for the necromancer?
No need. Just watch my back in case he tries anything… this will be a good moment to conserve mana too.
Galela just flutters closer to him.
Galerius disperses his wind armour as the undead gets to him, trying to thrust with his lance.
Galerius just weaves to the side and then goes for a gale-infused punch, but the horseman's horse rears up and taking the blow instead.
Some pieces of its skull break off on impact.
Galerius is shocked as he thinks, Mm? This horse is quite tough.
The undead horseman takes the chance to go for another thrust, but Galerius infuses himself with gale for a split second to reposition by swerving to the side of the undead horseman, holding his hand out at the still reared up horse's side.
Doesn't matter. This burst should take them out, he thinks to himself confidently.
The undead horseman sees this and starts to get off the horse. As soon as Galerius sends a point blank gale burst to the horse, sending it flying back into his own tower and making the whole thing crumble.
Galerius doesn't realize that the undead horseman had jumped up into the air, effectively dodging the burst.
"Huh?" he looked up surprised
The undead horseman, with both hands, thrusts his long lance at him, but Galerius weaves to the side again effortlessly. It hits the ground with so much force it cracks the ground on impact.
"Clumsy attacks like that won't do you any favors… now you're wide open!"
He takes this chance to send a gale-infused punch straight toward the undead's face.
Its skull cracks in many places. The force from the blow alone causes waves in the air, pushing dust and small rocks away.
Its red eyes fade out for only a second until both its hand clasp on Galerius wrist.
Skeletal sockets now reignite, blazing red straight at the Galerius
Galerius, surprised by this, tries to shake it off. "What the heck!"
Each sway will not shake the undead off. It's not letting go! Why is its grip so darn tight?
Galerius stops swaying his hand, as something dawned on him, opening his palm.
"This is perfect, actually…"
As gale coalesces in his palm, the undead doesn't move, just keeps holding on tightly.
The ground ruptures underneath. Galerius doesn't notice as something protrudes from right under him.
Galela quickly alerts him. Galerius, watch out under you! Her voice rings in his mind.
Galerius instinctively dashes forward, then mid-dash he turns to face a large bone-infused pillar.
"What the—"
But only glimpse, as just behind him is the undead war horse surging with crimson mana, leaving decay in its path as it bursts forward with explosive speed in a necrotic charge, about to ram through him…
Dammit, it will take too long for my gale armour to cover me in time.
"GALELA, GIVE ME A BOOST!"
Gale mana surges around him, infusing his body instantly.
"Now you're dead!" he says while gritting his teeth.
He repositions, twisting as if he's skating through the air, swerving right behind the undead warhorse. When he gets behind it, he lifts his arm with the undead horsemen still holding on to it and charges a gale burst.
As it charges, it generates streaks of pure gale mana which tear up the ground as they go by. "THIS WILL SEND YOU ALL BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM, YOU DAMNED CHAOS FIENDS!"
The horse rams into the bone-infused pillar, breaking it, and the undead lets go of Galerius just before Galerius releases a powerfully wide gale burst, blasting the undead into its horse and sending them both far into the city, crashing through multiple structures.
In the aftermath, lines are etched into stone and earth, and a long, narrow crater—scarred by the force of the blast, had cut through the ground.
Galerius stands there panting a briefly before fully catching his breath.
"Galela, why did you warn me of that? I told you to keep watch for the necromancer's strikes—and besides, I could have handled it!"
"That's the thing. It was the necromancer's attack."
"What?"
"That skeleton doesn't seem to be able to cast spells, as it seems restricted for some reason. Maybe something to do with his eyes…"
"Your point?"
"My point being that I don't know how, but the necromancer seems to be casting spells from a good vantage point."
Galerius looks around. "Mmm, could be my…"
He looks far behind him, seeing his tower destroyed.
A vein pops. Everything is falling apart. Damn this chaos!
Galerius, please keep calm… I am going to recover now. That power I handed you took a lot out of me.
How long do you think you need?
Ten minutes. Don't do anything rash till then.
Galela floats into his chest.
Galerius looks at his wrist. It now has the mark of skeletal fingers on it. Damn, that grip was strong. It left a mark on me. If I had my gale armour, it wouldn't have even been able to touch me.
"I need to be more careful from now on."
Galerius propels himself toward where he sent them.
As he gets there, his gale breaks his momentum.
He drops to the ground softly, looking around. Not seeing them, he flares his eyes up with his gale mana and instantly stumbles upon two necrotic auras—the undead horseman and his undead warhorse high in the air above him. As they plummet, he sees another aura sitting calmly behind the undead horseman. "Is that?"
Galerius quickly dodges back out of the way as they both crash down in front of him, calmly cracking the ground under them.
The undead horseman and his undead warhorse stand strong and fully restored, as if they both never took any damage.
In Galerius's head, it doesn't matter because of the "necromancer!" His rage starts to bubble up.
But Galela's voice echoes through his head. Keep calm, Galerius.
He breathes in and out.
As the undead horseman readies his stance, Galerius speaks calmly. "Come forth, Necromancer! I've no patience left for your petty tricks."
Though there is a figure sitting at the back of the undead warhorse right behind the undead horseman, facing the opposite direction, he merely sits there kicking his feet.
Even though I can't see his face, I almost feel that evil smirk of his! Galerius thinks, annoyed, but yet he keeps his cool, announcing again, his tone calm. "I know you hear me. Face me, necromancer."
Though there is no reply.
Silence fills the atmosphere, the soft crumbles of stone around them echoing their standoff.
The undead warhorse simply grunts, spectral steam leaving his nostrils, and the undead horseman grips his lance tighter. Both their eyes burn reddish in anticipation.
Hasteful footsteps are heard echoing behind Galerius.
It's something running toward him, but he doesn't flinch or turn around. It tries to lunge and attack him, but as soon as its attack reaches the vicinity of his gale armour—
Got you, Galerius calmly thinks.
Still facing forward, his eyes trained on the three in front of him, he grabs its arm and, with barely any movement, flips it over and slams it in front of him.
He sees that it's the necromancer, but he isn't fooled. Just a clone. Another of one his petty tricks!
Then he steps forward and, with an open palm directed at it, just before he can send a gale burst at it—
The necromancer's clone opens its mouth and emits an eerie wail that startles Galerius.
What is this?
Before he knows it, the undead horseman has charged and is right in front of him, about to strike his lance near his face.
"Nice try." His face is determined.
But in this gale armour mode, I can see all pressure points in the air within the range of my gale armour, giving me near-precognitive vision.
So despite it being near his face, Galerius sees every point of it coming.
Galerius simply moves his head to the side while grabbing the middle of the weapon with one hand and, with his other, getting ready for a gale-infused punch. The undead horse tries to rear up again to take the blow.
Not this time!
As he sends an explosive gale-infused jab to the undead horseman's face, knocking him off his undead warhorse, the undead horseman slowly gets out of his way. Galerius stares at where the horseman sat. As the horseman flies out of view and into a building, he realizes the necromancer has disappeared.
"He's gone?!"
A voice hisses from the other side of him.
"Over here, warden!"
Suddenly Galerius looks over to his side, seeing the necromancer sliding in from the side, his book floating open beside him, a big evil smirk forming on his face, fist ready as a large skeletal hand protrudes out of the ground beside him.
No way!
The necromancer throws his fist forward, causing the skeletal fist to do the same. It soars toward him. I can't counter that. It's too big, he thinks, panicking.
Galerius blocks with his arms. The punch itself is so strong it sends Galerius flying away for the first time, crashing through the city with a cloud trail of dust and debris in his wake.
Galerius lies on his back. "That hit hard. Luckily I had my armour to protect me. Where did he get that spell from? He didn't pull that one out earlier." He holds his head and gets up slowly. "Alright… alright… I can still handle this."
"WARDEN!"
Something from above shouts.
Galerius instantly backs away as the warhorse crashes down.
The undead warhorse stands imposing and strong while the necromancer stands on top of it, a wide smile on his face, just waving at him, his book floating beside him, open.
"Hey, warden!"
Galerius sees a slight smirk tug on the necromancer's lips.
His face tightens in annoyance, the thought flashing in mind—Is he mocking me?
No… no… Must stay calm. I must stay calm...
The necromancer notices this.
"What ya thinking about, warden? Scared, maybe?!" he says, sarcasm in his tone.
A large lance soars down from the sky, but Galerius jumps back, dodging it.
"Come on, wind warden Galerius, are you getting tired already?" the necromancer teases yet again.
"Damn you…" he mutters.
He bends a bit and puts his hand to his ear, trying to hear.
"Huh? What was that? I can't hear you from all the way over here!"
Galerius's temper rises. "Silence…" he mutters a little louder.
"What?! Still can't—"
Galerius interrupts. "I SAID SILENCE, YOU WRETCHED FIEND!"
The necromancer speaks immediately after, interrupting. "Well, whatever you said… WAKE UP ALREADY! AND LOOK AROUND YOU! AHAHAHAHAHA!"
The necromancer cackles loudly.
That's it.
Galerius directs his finger toward them and fires off a big bullet of gale. The necromancer fires off a ray of darkness.
It clashes for a brief second with the gale bullet before consuming it and becoming stronger.
Galerius looks shocked but manages to dash to the side in time before it could hit him. Instead, it erases a small part of his gale armour.
Did it just eat right through my armour?
Then three long, jagged bone spikes quickly protrude from the ground, but Galerius manages to maneuver through them, backing away out of danger. But at the same time, the lance starts to soar back at him, and so does the necromancer, now sat down, riding toward him in a necrotic charge. All spikes ram through in an instant.
But as they reach, all the attacks get diverted away.
The horse's ram gets diverted to the side, and the lance is diverted too as Galerius sidesteps it at the last minute, grazing his armour as he blasts gale into it, sending it far away.
That was close, but there's no way he found a way around my repel mode. Right?
But the necromancer blasts another abyssal ray as Galerius backs away. I'll let it hit my gale armour to see if it's different. But it repels the attack to the side as it hits the ground instead.
Perfect, it works now. It just means that—
The warhorse instantly flips its head and instantly goes in for another ram, its head down, surging with power, but this time goes for the open part of galerius gale armour
When it hits Galerius, it sends him tumbling up into the sky, but he quickly recovers.
After, the lance comes speeding back. Perfect.
Galerius uses it, using gale to guide and redirect it down toward the duo.
They dodge, and the lance floats again.
He lands farther away from them.
That lance is starting to annoy me...
Gale begins to swirl around Galerius's arm — haven't used this technique in years.
The gale gathers, forming a tight vortex that yanks the lance toward him in an instant.
The necromancer tries to pull it back, but it's useless. Galerius intensifies the vortex, and the weapon flies into his hand. Dispelling the gale, he grips the lance with his bare hand, cracking it, then crushing it completely. Crumbles of bone fall from his fist.
The necromancer and his warhorse charge.
Galerius conjures longer gale vortexes around his arms and sweeps them across the ground. The strikes gouge deep scars into the earth, but the warhorse deftly evades — leaping over one, sidestepping another, and then soaring high toward him. All while resisting the vortex's pull.
"Coming for me, huh?" Galerius mutters.
He raises both hands, merging the twin vortexes into one, the gale roaring around his arms.
The necromancer senses danger and leaps clear of the horse.
Galerius pulls the undead warhorse in instantly. As soon as he grips its neck, he slams it into the ground and begins charging a gale burst.
"I'll take you out now!" he says, his eyes locked and unyielding.
Two massive skeletal fists erupt from the ground on either side of him. Galerius lets go of the horse and thrusts both arms outward, catching each giant hand mid-swing.
A third skeletal palm bursts up, snatching the warhorse and hurling it back toward the necromancer.
Damn it, they're getting away.
Even with my gale armor, I can't hold this much pressure. I didn't want to wreck the city any further… but I've got no choice.
The warhorse regains its footing, and the necromancer mounts. They turn and flee.
Gale mana swirls violently around Galerius. He releases it all at once — a shockwave that obliterates the skeletal fists. But before the gales can disperse, they surge back toward him, spiralling tighter, denser, more devastating.
"THIS IS MY GREAT GALE VORTEX!"
The vortex expands, devouring everything within its reach. Rubble, debris, even distant fragments of the city are drawn in and shredded.
Galloping.
I can't see through the storm. I hope this works, he thinks. The sound grows louder — hooves pounding, wind shrieking — and then a piercing screech.
Through the maelstrom, the necromancer appears, surrounded by a thick purple barrier, charging straight toward him atop the warhorse.
No… how?!
They crash into him. Galerius tries to block, but the warhorse's head drives into the gap made in his Armor.
He's flung from the vortex, smashing through the air until he collides with the city wall. The vortex collapses, imploding with a thunderous roar.
Dust settles.
The necromancer advances slowly.
Galerius lies on the ground, struggling to rise.
Galerius realizes: The speed and momentum they had in that one charge with the warhorse allowed them to burst through the vortex and ultimately go against the current of the vortex, and the necromancer had a barrier to protect himself from the current and speed affecting him.
He sighs, standing up, grunting in pain. He says, "Gale armour adds a layer of protection to me while giving me better movement and precision and overall body enhancement, but even with that, the hits do rack up a bit, especially with all this mana I am using."
The necromancer starts rushing at Galerius from a distance.
"I'm so fed up with all this." He says, his face stoic.
Gale surges around him.
"I want to end it permanently ."
Is that so? A voice reverberates in his mind.
"Galela, you're back." He smiles.
Gale calmly surges around him.
"Yes. Time for a boost… to end it!" she says confidently, her voice still soft.
Galerius's body vibrates with gale energy, calm.
But he doesn't rush in.
"To end it!" he says in reply, standing ready…
The necromancer turns around with the warhorse and starts running away.
"Resorting to running again, huh?"
Galerius disappears and reappears, calmly flying right behind the two.
That horse has incredible speed. It's still able to run from me in this form…
The necromancer turns around, holding his hand out to target Galerius. A bone spike comes up from the ground, but Galerius disappears. When he reappears, the necromancer moves his hand, causing another bone spike to appear. Each time one tries to impale Galerius, he keeps dodging them.
Galerius, perfectly calm and in his element.
The necromancer keeps following with his arm, sweat beading down his forehead.
"Mmm, can't touch me, necromancer!" Galerius taunts.
Galerius, don't get so arrogant. End this already! You must end it!
Galerius furrows his brows. You're right. Time to finish this! he thinks resolutely.
The necromancer notices this and gets up from the horse, phantom dashing far ahead.
He's vulnerable… Galerius! Galela's voice echoes urgency in her tone.
The necromancer, now upside down in the air, points his fingers and fires abyssal rays.
But Galerius just appears in front of him, about to deliver a lethal blow with his fist. Both abyssal rays deflect away.
"TO END IT!" he shouts.
Two large skeletal hands appear from the back and front of Galerius.
He sees but only smirks "No Problem i will just break through them!"
As he smashes the front skeletal fist right after, dozens of large skeletal hands break out of the ground underneath and everywhere around him.
wait maybe i can find a...
Galerius looks around frantically
"What? Every route's cut off!"
Not being able to escape, ALL the hands trap him, slamming him down on the ground. Each one breaks the ground and cracks other skeletal hands.
Dammit, I can't get loose.
They had him pinned, but as more kept piling on, it pushed him deeper into the ground. For the briefest moment, he caught a glimpse of the necromancer tumbling across the earth — yet somehow, he managed to grab hold of the galloping warhorse's tail and as he does he makes silly face, sticking his tongue out at Galerius then climbing onto the warhorse and riding away.
Then it goes dark leaving Galerius to his thoughts, Why does it always feel like he's two steps ahead?
Galela's voice rings in his head.
Galerius, forget this. You need to end this now. I can't keep this up for long.
"Alright!"
Gale starts to swoosh around everywhere, and it also seeps through the cracks in the skeletal hands.
All I got to do is increase the pressure.
Galerius bursts out immediately, a massive powerful shockwave left in his wake.
Both fists out in front of him.
Soaring with incredible speed ahead, toward the far-away necromancer.
The necromancer drifts to the side with the warhorse, skidding on the ground, then jumps off.
"YOU WANT TO COME AT ME? COME AT ME THEN, WARDEN!" Driving his arms to the ground, he summons an insanely enormous earth-bone-infused earthen wall that is proportionally wide, then casts a purple barrier over it.
"THAT WON'T STOP ME! THIS IS TO END IT, NECROMANCER!"
He crashes through the barrier instantly and crashes into the wall, the impact causing the whole city to shake.
But as soon as he hits it, a wave of gale goes all over it, breaking it and making it crumble almost immediately as he goes flying straight through and hits the necromancer into the undead warhorse.
Taking them straight through the city to the other side of it until they hit the literal city wall on the other side.
The shockwave when they hit obliterates a large section of that part of the city. The wall is completely eviscerated by the concussive force, leaving the area a shallow crater—almost at surface level—with sharply sloping sides. The crater itself sprawls widely, consuming the entire space, a grim testament to the sheer power of the impact caused by Galerius
Galerius just pants. He looks very tired now. Galela, I think I got them…
But there's no response. "Dammit, she must be asleep. That push probably took a lot out of her."
"That shou—"
Galerius sees a speck of purple ooze on the ground.
And instantly remembers. "NO!"
Then a voice comes in from above him. "YES!"
He backs away, still trying to catch his breath.
As the necromancer and the warhorse land, they relentlessly start to attack Galerius. The necromancer non-stop cackles as the warhorse tries to stomp on Galerius.
Galerius dodges, thinking, I'm almost completely depleted of mana. I need to use it wisely.
He keeps dodging, but barely, as he stumbles with each stomp from the warhorse, the necromancer cackling behind each strike.
But even though I may be tired, he has to be getting tired too! This motivates Galerius.
Galerius back-dashes while raising his palm up for a gale burst, but the necromancer puts a barrier up that, on impact, breaks from the gale burst.
They both continue to push through with their attacks.
They wouldn't call me the strongest in Trishtan if I wasn't a skilled fighter, Galerius thinks confidently.
Galerius crosses his arms at perfect timing, blocking the attack. The pain quickly jolts in, but he grits through it and manages to push them back.
Forcing the warhorse's head back, but the necromancer simply rears the warhorse's head back, getting ready for a stomp. Galerius tries to gale burst them again at the warhorse's stomach, but the necromancer casts a barrier again, which breaks on impact from the gale burst.
"Dammit, when all else fails…"
Galerius mutters to himself.
The necromancer looks at him, confused.
"RUSH IN!" He grits his teeth, lunging in while infusing himself and shoulder-barging the skeletal undead warhorse away, but it skids from the attack, holding itself on only its hind legs.
As Galerius stumbles a bit, still infused with wind, his head down, he looks up. Where… He instantly feels a pressure point behind him. "There!"
He repositions himself with his gale, turning all the way around, already pointing his palm at the warhorse. The necromancer—where did he go?! he panics in his mind, thinking the necromancer would be there.
"Over here, warden!" He's hanging off the side, holding one of the horse's ribcages, readying his own attack in the form of a large skeletal fist heading for him again.
But Galerius notices something peculiar. It's like time slows down as he sees it.
Mm? Where did his book go? The last time he did this, his book was hovering beside him…
No time to think. I have to act. I will take this chance to put out this undead warhorse for good!
He lets out a fully powered gale burst while holding up his other hand to block the incoming skeletal fist.
The blast sends the warhorse flying, its bones splintering and breaking apart as it slams into the ground. It stirs a cloud of dust and debris in a thunderous explosion.
The burst also catches the necromancer's forearm, shattering it instantly, ripping the clothing from his arm as the gale tears through him, making the necromancer lose concentration on his spell.
The punch sends Galerius reeling back, some blood splattering out of his mouth onto the ground, but he still manages to keep his feet on the ground and firm.
Galerius takes a few steps back. That fist would've probably taken me out if his forearm didn't get caught in the gale burst.
The necromancer stands up slowly, holding his broken forearm. He looks at Galerius's blood on the ground.
Galerius notices the necromancer's look as the blood starts to form a long, sharp needle in the air and floats up beside the necromancer. He smirks deviously, his eyes gleaming.
How does he still find the energy to taunt me? So!
Galerius's gale armour starts to cover him again.
It speeds toward him.
Repelling off him instantly.
That was fast.
But instead of letting it hit the ground, he sends a burst of gale, incinerating the blood. "Won't let you try something like that again."
That was too meaningless. There must be a catch.
He raises his hand, instantly sending a gale burst that just hits the necromancer and sends him flying into the same rubble as the warhorse.
Pages flick.
"Necromancer, what was the point in that?! Huh?! You coward, come out and face me by yourself this time, so I can kill you with my fist!"
…
Silence…
Maybe he might be dead! Let me check to make sure…
He starts walking to where he hit them, hopeful in their death.
A loud yell comes from inside.
Galerius's face gets even more serious. They're alive…
Two eyes shine from the smoke—one purple and one blue.
Two figures emerge, dust and debris rushing past them as they exit.
The necromancer, his face plain, his clothes tattered and ripped along with his body, his broken forearm and the many cuts and bruises that paint him.
The second is the skeletal undead horseman, his face and body barely holding itself together, his bones cracked, only one of his eyes hollow as the other one shines softly blue.
He is slumped low as he struggles to walk, with his body in shambles.
One's barely able to move, and the other is in a similar state to me…
"Necr—"
"AHHHH, SHUT UP!" the necromancer interrupts.
Galerius looks confused.
"Mmm?"
The necromancer lifts his head up in slight annoyance, and with his hand he gestures. "Necromancer this… Necromancer that… My name is Zero."
He smirks as he stops walking.
Galerius just stands there, stopping his walk as well.
"Anyway, I'm getting pretty fed up with this fight. It's starting to piss me off, and I'm going to be honest with you—you probably already know I'm pretty low on mana too…"
He knows I am as well… Galerius looks serious, his face getting stern.
The necromancer continues.
"Well, 'restricted' is a better term. You see, I—"
Suddenly the horsemen shakes and falls on his face.
The necromancer looks to the side. "WHAT? C'MON, AUGUSTUS, DON'T BE LAME! GET UP!" He struggles to get up.
His voice shifts. "Where's your pride, Augustus?"
The horseman instantly gets up but maintains a hunched posture, his one socket blazing blue.
The necromancer facepalms with his good arm.
"That's better. And you know what? Forget talking…"
They both crouch, their eyes gleaming—the necromancer with evil purple delight; the horseman, cold blue determination.
And they raise opposite hands—the necromancer's left and the horseman's right.
Here they come!
Galerius takes a stance.
The necromancer smirks and says, "Let's get him!"
They both rush in.
Heh… no spells? Easy. Physical fighters have never been a problem for me.
Galerius turns off his wind armour. Perfect. I can finally just conserve my mana.
The horseman goes for Galerius's head and goes for swipes from both sides, and the necromancer slides to the back of Galerius, going to try to strike both there, palms open, as they are about to hit him.
Galerius uppercuts the undead and simultaneously grabs the necromancer's arm, swings him in the air, flipping him to his front mid-air, and slams him off the ground. As he bounces, he kicks the necromancer away.
As he quickly tumbles on the ground, he catches himself and regains his footing, already running back in.
While the undead still recovers, Galerius turns around to face the necromancer.
The necromancer's eyes gleam pure insanity as he swipes at Galerius, but he simply moves his head out of the way of each swipe. He goes for a quick jab to the necromancer's face, which knocks him off balance, but he quickly regains it and goes in again. He weaves a few more swipes again, then jabs the necromancer again, but he pushes through it, this time going for his stomach.
Falling for the same trick, necromancer.
He grabs the necromancer's wrist and his other wrist, yanks him close, and knees him in the stomach.
He instantly falls to the ground.
The undead this time swerves behind him.
Galerius sees him.
Copying your master, eh?
He quickly kicks the undead's skull, then hooks his skull with his foot and reels him in. Then, putting down his foot with the undead now in front of him, he slams his fist down, but the undead blocks it, his eye blazing reddish now. He pushes Galerius off him.
Galerius glances behind him, seeing the necromancer lunging for a strike.
The undead goes for a lunge.
Galerius crouches down and tries to swipe at the necromancer's legs, but he jumps over it, smirking.
"Nice try, warden!"
"Your arm is still extended out. Same trick you fall for…"
Galerius grabs his arm and flips him into the undead.
When the necromancer crashes into the undead, it sends them both back a bit, tumbling on the ground. They get up immediately.
Both lunge in again.
"Heh." Galerius looks smug. This approach will never do them any good.
Galerius runs in too. He tries to uppercut the necromancer, but he dodges out of the way. He dodged?
Then he tries to go for his stomach, but Galerius immediately catches his wrist. His hand is near his stomach, then he swipes the necromancer's legs, making him fall on his back.
"Same trick you fall for—" he taunts the necromancer, not realizing a quick jab coming for him.
He was about to use his hand to block it but hesitates and takes it to the chest, getting pushed a distance away.
He crouches, clutching his chest. A broken rib is better than a broken arm.
He spits out some blood.
He gets up to his feet.
The horseman's eyes turn back to blue, and he starts to shake again.
Galerius grins, seeing this. I should be safe again!
The necromancer gets up.
They lunge again.
I will end this.
Galerius stands up and faces them head-on. They all fight in the middle.
He lifts his leg up, hits above the necromancer's head, and heel strikes his head to the ground.
Then, as the undead horseman tries to swipe, Galerius grabs his wrist and palm strikes his face.
Galerius doesn't stop there. He pulls him back with his wrist and jerks his hand, snapping off the undead's arm. Immediately after, he grabs the other with the same hand and, with his other hand, chops the elbow, snapping his skeletal arm in two, breaking it.
Keeping the stance as the undead slowly falls, his body crumbling even more....
His blue fire fizzles out slowly. As Galerius is about to step on his head, he feels weakness in his ankle. He looks and sees his ankle slowly being decayed.
By the necromancer.
"YOU!" Galerius's eyes fill with anger.
He steps on his arm, crushing it.
The necromancer screams. "Argggh, that was my good one!"
The decay retracts from his ankle.
Galerius pants, then starts pressing on it even more.
"Stop! Please stop! I'm begging!"
Galerius thinks about everything that happened till now. Galerius's expression darkens at this, and his face is set in grim, unyielding seriousness.
He steps on it even more, twisting his foot on it. The necromancer's bones creak and rip, and the more Galerius twists on it, he keeps screaming until a sickening pop fills the atmosphere. Galerius's face looks grim, completely serious.
The necromancer is speechless, beads of sweat all over his face as he grits his teeth through the pain.
Then Augustus comes behind him, his eyes burning red one last time as he bites down on his shoulder with all his force. Blood splatters everywhere as Galerius screams but manages to grab the undead's head and fling him away.
He holds his shoulder in pain. "That stung, damn it!"
Galerius looked up in shock
He got up again!
The necromancer just stands, his arms hung, looking straight at Galerius from a distance, his body bloody along with his face.
Galerius rushes in.
Trying to punch him, but he couldn't as the necromancer kept dodging.
Why can't I hit him?
A sick smirk forms on the necromancer's face.
"You know, you're really sick in the head for doing that to me!"
"That's ironic coming from someone like you, necromancer."
"HAHAHA, FAIR!"
Galerius stops swinging, and the necromancer makes some space between them. "I win. I have you right where I want you!"
It can't be... Another trap, can it?
A large beam of purple thunder speedily consumes the necromancer's body, destroying him, his body turning into purple ooze before he is destroyed.
The thunder beam is about to hit Galerius's face, growing more and more hopeless as it gets to him.
"Is this it...?"
"No. I have you, don't worry, Galerius."
Galela comes in, boosting him.
The attack hits him. The thunderous purple beam flies all the way through the town and outside.
He stands there, surging with power, his body charred, his clothes tarnished.
Electricity sparks on his body. He stumbles slightly, but he remains firm.
"Galela... you did me a wonderful favor..."
That can't be the end. I can't—I saw that ooze and that book!
His eyes flare up. He sees the necromancer standing there.
Just outside the destroyed wall, standing there, his book floating.
"Is that him?!"
The figure puts the book by his side and runs the other way.
"Has to be. Come here!"
Galerius disappears and reappears in front of him.
He grabs his head, slams it deep into the ground, embedding it in there, and drags his head through the ground, lifting it up as he goes full speed.
"I AM GOING TO!"
Then, after dragging his head through the ground literally, he forces a gale burst on his head that creates a large crater, revealing the necromancer's bloody head. Then he flings him into the sky, his completely half-conscious body.
"TO END YOU!"
He charges up a full-power boosted gale burst, gale mana coalescing at both his hands as he puts both hands side by side, charging this up as the necromancer's mangled body falls in the air.
Streaks of rampant mana destroy the ground and turn it up.
As he fires a large gale burst toward the necromancer.
It comes out as a wide beam of great concussive force, which hits the necromancer.
His body, covered in black smoke, falls to the ground quite a distance away.
Galerius walks up. With each stride, he feels weaker as his gale form wears off.
"Dammit, need to check. Surely he's dead now…"
He gets to the smoking remains but keeps his distance.
The rain starts…
