Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Three soul-piercing questions

Yuki was stunned.

The man before him, dressed in a suit and top hat, with curly hair styled like Michael Jackson, was undoubtedly Kibutsuji Muzan.

He never imagined he would transmigrate to the very night Muzan slaughtered the Kamado family!

If he had achieved even 50% of his original power, let alone 100%, he would have been confident in protecting the Kamado family and escaping unscathed from Muzan.

But with only 10% of his power and a "Tsugikuni Yoriichi's Blade - Pseudo," even his own survival was in question.

This feeling of facing the final boss right from the start reminded Yuki of his first time playing Sekiro:

'This is attack, this is block, and this is Ashina Genichiro!'

Yuki really wanted to point at himself and ask the System:

"Me? Fight Muzan?"

Faced with this "instant death" scenario, Yuki could only say:

"Muzan, I never expected to meet you here."

*Whine!*

A subconscious moan escaped Muzan's lips, all five of his brains trembling violently.

Initially, only two of his brains believed he had once again encountered Yoriichi. The other three struggled to maintain their composure.

'Yoriichi has been dead for centuries! There's no way he could be here!'

But Yuki's words shattered his remaining composure.

'This guy recognizes me! I haven't shown myself in centuries—how could he recognize me at first glance?!'

There was only one explanation:

'This guy is likely Yoriichi himself!'

Muzan stared at Yuki, his eyes widening involuntarily.

"You... you're supposed to be dead?!"

Hearing this, Yuki immediately realized that Muzan had misunderstood his words. Moreover, the demon was even more tense and terrified than he was.

The entire demon stood frozen in place, his body trembling slightly.

Standing so close, Yuki could even hear the chattering of Muzan's teeth.

Yuki had an epiphany!

'That's right! Only I know that my restoration rate is merely 10%, but Muzan doesn't!'

As everyone knew, Muzan's defining trait was his cowardice—no, wait, his extreme caution.

And the reason for this caution stemmed from his encounter with Yoriichi three centuries ago.

Having cosplayed as Yoriichi, Yuki was intimately familiar with the original Demon Slayer manga.

He vividly recalled how, during their confrontation, Muzan had split himself into over 1,800 pieces to escape. Yet Yoriichi had still managed to shatter over 1,500 of them.

He had even left a wound on Muzan's body that refused to heal to this day.

When Yuki had first seen Muzan, his immediate reaction was, "Holy shit, I'm seeing ghosts!"

But now, realizing the situation, he understood that Muzan's terror and shock at seeing this "Tsugikuni Yoriichi" must be far greater than his own.

Yuki immediately regained his composure.

He gazed at Muzan, whose crimson pupils trembled like an earthquake, and declared in a deep voice:

"I have returned from hell, Muzan!"

*Fear!*

A tidal wave of terror instantly engulfed Muzan!

He clenched his teeth so hard that veins bulged across his skin, writhing beneath the surface.

His seven hearts pounded violently.

The five brains reached a unanimous decision in an instant:

'Run!'

Yuki immediately sensed Muzan's agitation.

He still doubted that two mere sentences could truly frighten Muzan into retreat.

To make Muzan genuinely believe he was Yoriichi, he needed to demonstrate more of his abilities.

He drew his blade.

*Hum!*

The black blade hummed as it slid from its sheath, emitting a faint crimson glow the moment it emerged.

Fine snow, blown from the eaves by the wind, melted instantly into water upon touching the blade.

Though this was merely " Yoriichi's Blade - Pseudo" and an incomplete Crimson Blade effect, visually, it was indistinguishable from the original!

Simultaneously, Yuki played his remaining trump cards.

*Hiss!*

As he channeled Sun Breathing, wisps of white mist escaped from the corners of his mouth.

His heartbeat quickened, and his body temperature soared above 39 degrees Celsius.

The Demon Slayer Mark on his forehead pulsed with searing pain.

Before Yuki's eyes, the world itself began to transform.

Muzan's body gradually became transparent in Yuki's vision.

The flow and contraction of muscles, the functioning of organs, and the circulation of blood became vividly clear.

Crimson Blade, Sun Breathing, Demon Slayer Mark, and Transparent World.

Though only 10% of the original power had been restored, Yuki could still sense the overwhelming strength of Yoriichi!

Meanwhile, Muzan's pupils had just ceased their trembling.

In the next instant, he saw Yuki draw his blade and witnessed firsthand the crimson-glowing, scorching-hot blade!

"Hiss—!" Muzan gasped sharply.

The memory of that blade from three centuries ago perfectly merged with the scene before him!

What terrified him even more was that the aura of the man before him had inexplicably weakened.

In Muzan's perception, this opponent now seemed weaker than an ordinary Demon Slayer Corps swordsman.

This bizarre situation immediately brought back Muzan's humiliating memories from the past.

Three centuries ago, when he first encountered Yoriichi, he had also dismissed him as a mere Demon Slayer Corps swordsman.

And then...

Muzan dared not let his thoughts wander further.

He tried desperately to control his trembling body, but every cell within him was quivering uncontrollably.

His only thought was to repeat his old trick: split into countless fragments and flee.

But his fear-wracked cells, trembling incessantly, made splitting nearly impossible.

No!

It wasn't just that he couldn't split!

Under the crushing weight of terror, Muzan found himself temporarily unable to move his body at all.

Yet Yuki had already charged forward.

Empowered by the Transparent World, he clearly saw the five brains and seven hearts within Muzan's body.

More than that, he saw the wounds Yoriichi had inflicted three centuries ago—wounds that had never fully healed.

To Yuki's eyes, these scars were as considerate as dotted lines on a package, guiding him:

'Please cut along the dotted line!'

Under Muzan's terrified gaze, Yuki's first strike landed precisely on the scar left by Yoriichi all those years ago.

Two blades, separated by three centuries, merged into one.

"Aaaah—!"

Muzan screamed in agony, his eyes burning with rage, hatred, and terror.

This strike was no coincidence!

Only Yoriichi himself could strike the exact same spot with such precision!

He had truly crawled out of his grave!

Yet even greater terror was yet to come.

"Muzan, I saw you smiling when I opened the door."

Yuki, aiming to crush Muzan's spirit, delivered three soul-piercing questions:

"What's so funny?"

"What's so amusing?"

"Muzan, what do you take life for?!"
