Chapter 262 — The Whole Family Together

Fugaku glanced toward the city gate, noticing a squad of soldiers marching straight in their direction.

He raised an eyebrow. Ryuzetsu's parents aren't here yet… so why are these soldiers arriving early? Planning to block us already?

Of course, he immediately understood the situation. Ryuzetsu's friend Muku must have witnessed him taking her away and had run to call for help.

Fugaku sighed inwardly. I should have knocked that brat out earlier.

Originally, he had intended to take only Ryuzetsu… but halfway through, he changed his mind. Her parents deserved to come along as well — a small piece of compensation for everything she had gone through.

And besides, unless some cheat-level transmigrator suddenly appeared to target him, Fugaku wasn't exactly expecting to die anytime soon.

Maybe Ryuzetsu would really be able to live peacefully in Konoha.

As the soldiers came closer, Fugaku prepared himself. If they noticed him, he could take them down, but…

Honestly, must everything be solved with violence? Wouldn't it be better for all of us if we just walked away peacefully?

Right then, a voice rang out from behind him.

"Make way! Uncle Ryu and Aunt Ryu are here!"

Ryuzetsu's parents had arrived.

Fugaku's eyes brightened, and he turned.

The crowd split open, creating a clear path. Following the young man who had gone to fetch them, a middle-aged couple stepped forward — the father with white hair and a weathered but once-handsome face, and the mother still beautiful despite her age.

These are Ryuzetsu's parents?

The resemblance was obvious.

And then Fugaku noticed something else.

Ryuzetsu's father had the same eyes — the concentric-patterned dojutsu of the Dragon Life Reincarnation bloodline. Not as noble or overwhelming as the Rinnegan, of course. Compared to the Sage of Six Paths' eyes, this bloodline didn't measure up… but its resurrection ability made it uniquely precious.

So the father has it too. Another revival card… Perfect.

A sharp glint flashed through Fugaku's eyes.

As Ryuzetsu's parents approached, the old man began to speak.

"Young man, these are Ryuzetsu's—"

His words cut off instantly as Fugaku's Sharingan activated.

In the blink of an eye, everyone who made eye contact with him — not just the parents, but the crowd around them — fell under his genjutsu, frozen in place like statues.

Fugaku formed hand seals and created two shadow clones. One clone picked up Ryuzetsu's father, the other her mother. Fugaku himself transformed into a small flea and leapt away at high speed, moving opposite from the direction of the approaching soldiers.

The squad arrived just in time to see three figures carrying three others sprinting into the distance.

"There! Found them!"

"The Young Master said Ryuzetsu must be retrieved—move!"

But no matter how desperately they ran, Fugaku's speed was beyond anything they could hope to match.

By the time they reached the edge of the forest cliff, they saw three silhouettes running effortlessly across the surface of the sea — shrinking into tiny black dots before disappearing completely.

The squad captain's face darkened.

"Damn it! Who is this ninja? How did he snatch Ryuzetsu away?!"

He could already imagine the Young Master's fury.

Meanwhile, far ahead, Fugaku checked to be sure no one was following. He summoned his Complete-Body Susanoo, stepped inside, and took to the sky — soaring back toward Konoha.

---

Returning to the village, Fugaku quietly used Kotoamatsukami on Ryuzetsu's family. He rewrote their memories so they believed they had grown up in Konoha — proper citizens of the village.

He arranged a home for them inside the Uchiha District, close to his own residence.

After all, they were extremely important "revival insurance."

Naturally, he needed them nearby.

Slowly, he began planting the idea of "reviving him" into their subconscious minds.

At the same time, Fugaku arranged for people to begin training in the Reanimation Jutsu. It was a difficult forbidden technique, and everyone so far had failed… but Fugaku wasn't concerned.

He already had Dragon Life Reincarnation.

Reanimation could be perfected slowly.

Life in the village had fallen into a rare and pleasant calm.

Orochimaru's research was progressing rapidly thanks to Fugaku's complete support — money when needed, manpower when needed, no hesitation.

And today was a milestone: the computer game Fugaku had been dreaming of was finally completed.

Orochimaru's research team arrived personally to update the Hokage Office computers and install the first single-player game.

The true internet era was still a little ways off, but getting closer.

Now Fugaku could slack off even more happily, playing computer games during work.

But while Konoha enjoyed peace, the distant ocean was anything but calm.

Ever since the Mist had taken the bulk of the spoils from Iwagakure, relations between the two villages had been deteriorating.

Ōnoki couldn't swallow his anger, but he also wasn't foolish. Before making any move, he sent spies into Hidden Mist to gather intelligence.

Instead, those spies managed to send back only a single report before going completely silent. They were likely dead.

The Mist's sealing and isolation policies made infiltration nearly impossible.

And so, until today, Iwagakure still had no information about what was happening inside the Village of the Bloody Mist.
