Jamie Foxx was just like any other 20-year-old guy. Ordinary. Forgettable. A college student juggling boring lectures, late-night gaming sessions, and the occasional ramen cup when money was tight. His world was nothing extraordinary—until anime came along to spice it up.
Right now, he was especially excited. The brand-new season of Demon Slayer had just dropped, and he had been waiting for it like a kid counting down to Christmas. He loved almost every character in the series… almost.
The one he hated?
Tengen Uzui.
Sure, Tengen was strong. Sure, he was flashy, charming, and had that larger-than-life personality. But Jamie couldn't stand him for one reason: he had three wives.
Three.
Meanwhile, Jamie had… none. Zero girlfriends since birth. Zero kisses. Zero experience. His love life was emptier than his fridge on a Sunday night. Every time he saw Tengen flexing on screen, Jamie couldn't help but feel a spark of bitter jealousy.
"Damn show-off," Jamie muttered while scrolling through memes about the Sound Hashira. "Three wives? I can't even get one text back. Unreal."
But life has a twisted sense of humor.
The next morning, Jamie woke up in his room, rubbing his eyes and groaning at the thought of another dull day. He was about to reach for his phone when suddenly—
Ding!
A clear electronic chime echoed inside his head.
Jamie froze.
His eyes darted around his messy room. Laptop? Phone? Alarm clock? Nothing was making that sound.
Then, a glowing blue screen flickered into existence right before his eyes.
[System Initialization].
His heart skipped a beat. His breath caught in his throat.
"What the… what the fuck is this!?" Jamie shouted, stumbling back against his bed.
The screen didn't vanish. Instead, it glowed brighter.
"Congratulations! For unlocking the great me, your single life shall now come to an end! From this day forth, you will be baptized by my greatness!"
The strange blue screen echoed with pride, as if the System itself had an ego.
"You are granted a total of five wishes."
Jamie blinked. Once. Twice. Then his jaw dropped.
"Whaaaat???" he shouted, nearly falling off his bed. "A system? In the modern world? What the hell is going on?!"
But even as panic bubbled in his chest, a grin slowly crept across his face. His lips curled into something that could only be described as evil glee.
If a mirror were in front of him right now, he would've seen his ordinary, tired college-student face morph into the twisted grin of a scheming villain. His eyes gleamed with excitement, his mouth drooled slightly as fantasies flooded his mind.
"Heheheh…" Jamie chuckled, unable to hold back. "Five wishes, huh? Oh, I already know what to do with this. Mind manipulation… DNA alteration… and of course—time stop. Can't forget time stop. Hohohoho!"
His laugh grew louder, greedier, echoing through his empty room. For the first time in his life, he felt like the universe had finally handed him the cheat codes to reality itself.
The blue screen pulsed again, as if amused by his madness.
[Please follow the steps, and state your first wish.]
Jamie wiped the corner of his mouth, still grinning like a maniac. "Oh, I'll state them alright… and when I'm done, even Tengen Uzui with his three wives will look like a virgin compared to me."
The next step?" Jamie muttered, staring at the glowing screen.
The System's reply appeared instantly, bold and commanding:
[Step One: Leave your room.]
[Step Two: Walk to the park near your apartment and sit on the center bench.]
[Further instructions will be given upon arrival.]
Jamie squinted at the floating words. "Huh? Steps? What is this, a scavenger hunt? Strange… really strange."
For a moment, doubt gnawed at him. It felt ridiculous—obeying a screen that just appeared out of nowhere. But the thought of those five wishes flashed in his mind, and suddenly all hesitation melted away.
"This is only a small sacrifice," he muttered to himself, pulling on a hoodie. "If following some weird steps gets me mind powers, DNA alteration, and time stop, then hell yeah, I'm in."
With a mix of curiosity and anticipation, Jamie opened his apartment door and stepped outside. The morning air hit him with a gentle chill, carrying the scent of damp concrete and fried food from the nearby street stalls. He shoved his hands in his pockets, his grin still plastered on his face as he made his way to the small park just a block away.
The park was quiet, only a few joggers passing by and an old man feeding pigeons. Jamie sat down on the center bench, tapping his foot impatiently.
"Alright, System. I'm here," he whispered. "Now what? Where's my cheat codes, huh?"
The screen flickered back to life.
Step Three: Close your eyes. No matter what happens, do not open them.]
Jamie's eyes widened as the words floated on the glowing blue screen.
"Close my eyes? That's it?" he said aloud, laughing. "Man, this is easy. No fighting bosses, no blood sacrifices—just shut my eyes? Pfft, piece of cake."
He leaned back on the park bench, crossing his arms proudly. "Hehehe, this System is basically rolling out the red carpet for me. Five wishes, ultimate power… Jamie Foxx, you're finally going to be the main character."
Obediently, he shut his eyes, his grin widening. Excitement bubbled in his chest.
Then—
HOOONK!
A deafening blare of a truck's horn ripped through the peaceful morning. Jamie flinched, his hands twitching against the bench.
"Huh? The hell was that?" he muttered, eyes still closed.
Screams erupted. People were shouting, panicked voices echoing around him.
"Watch out!"
"Somebody move him!"
"Truck! Truck!"
Jamie stiffened, sweat dripping down his forehead. His heart pounded like a drum.
"W-wait… are they talking about me? Nah, no way. I'm sitting on a bench, I'm fine!"
But the noise grew louder. The roar of an engine. The screech of tires. The honking grew closer, almost deafening.
Jamie bit his lip, trembling. "...Maybe I should take a quick peek. Just a small one. I mean, I'm the master here, right? What's the System gonna do—spank me?"
He chuckled nervously, then slowly cracked one eyelid open. Just a peek.
And what he saw was the shining grill of a massive truck, barreling straight toward him, its headlights blinding and unstoppable.
Jamie's face turned pale.
"What the fuck?? System, what's this!!!" Jamie screamed, panic flooding his veins as the truck's roar grew louder. "Truck-kun?! Why?? Why now of all times!!"
His voice cracked, his arms flailing wildly as if that would stop fate itself.
"I was finally the main character of my own story! I had a system! I still have a lot of things to do! I'm only twenty! Why, Truck-kun, why are you here now?!"
The headlights drew closer, blinding him.
Jamie's mind spiraled, clinging desperately to any explanation. "Wait, wait, no… this doesn't make sense! Truck-kun, you're supposed to come when I wish for you! I wished for an isekai years ago and you never showed up—why appear now when I finally have a cheat system?!"
The world seemed to slow. Screams echoed. His thoughts tangled.
"Wait… why is there even a truck in the middle of the park?" His eyes widened in dawning realization. "…System??"
For a brief, terrifying moment, the blue screen flickered before his eyes. Then a line of text appeared, sharp and mocking:
Hehehe… Welcome, motherfucker.
Jamie's blood ran cold. "Wh-what the!!?? System—you betrayed me!!!"
The truck loomed over him like a wall of steel and death. His scream tore from his throat—
"FUUUCK YOOOOOUUU!!!"
CRASH!
The impact thundered through his bones. Pain exploded in every nerve, then dissolved into nothingness as his body shattered like glass.
His final thought before the darkness consumed him was bitter and wild:
"...Damn it… Tengen Uzui, this is all your fault…"
And then, silence.
