Chapter 140 - CH 140 : Plan To Escape

Gohan's voice trembled. "You mean… like Instant Transmission?"

Rudra opened his eyes again, his gaze heavy. "Yes. Or at least, I fear he can."

Both Trunks and Gohan froze in disbelief. Trunks' lips parted as if to speak, but no words came. His mind raced, replaying Rudra's escape — the flicker of light, the instantaneous movement across space.

He finally managed to whisper, "You mean… he copied your technique?"

Rudra's jaw tightened. "When I escaped the lab, I sensed your ki signatures and locked onto them. But… it took me a few seconds to stabilize the coordinates before teleporting. In that short time…" He sighed, his eyes narrowing. "I think he saw me use it."

The wind swept through the grass, carrying his words like a whisper of dread.

"I can't say for certain," Rudra continued. "But if he saw it — if he understood even the mechanics — then it's possible he can replicate it. Cell possesses the DNA of some of the greatest minds and fighters in the universe. His potential for learning is beyond anything we've seen."

Gohan's breath quickened. "So if we go back to Earth…"

"He'll be waiting," Rudra finished quietly. "Before we even step inside the Time Chamber."

For a moment, despair lingered between them — heavy, suffocating.

It felt like the very sky was pressing down on their shoulders.

But then, Trunks stepped forward, his eyes burning with determination. "Then we'll make sure he doesn't find us before we get there."

Rudra looked at him, surprised. "How?"

Trunks turned toward Gohan, then back to Rudra. "We need a distraction. If someone can keep Cell occupied — just long enough for the others to reach the chamber — we can enter safely."

Rudra's expression hardened. "That might work… but only two people can enter the Time Chamber at once. The third would have to stay behind."

The realization hit instantly. Both boys went silent. Gohan's lips parted slightly, his eyes wide.

"You mean…" Gohan whispered, "…someone would have to sacrifice themselves?"

Rudra nodded slowly. "Yes. If we try to enter together, the chamber will reject us. Only two can train inside. The third… must delay Cell long enough for the others to survive."

The thought hung between them like a storm cloud.

Trunks clenched his fists. His mind was already turning, calculating possibilities. But the truth was clear — whoever stayed behind wouldn't make it. Not against a being like Cell.

Still, the idea of backing down never crossed his face. He looked up, his expression firm. "Then we'll find a way so none of us have to die."

Rudra didn't answer immediately. He simply stared at the alien horizon, thinking. The soft hum of Namekian wind filled the silence between them. His mind raced through countless possibilities, but every scenario ended the same — with Cell's shadow looming closer.

He finally spoke again, his tone steady. "Maybe there's a way. If we can mask our ki while moving… or use decoys."

Gohan blinked. "Decoys?"

Rudra nodded. "I've been experimenting with a technique — splitting ki signatures, creating false energy trails. If I can perfect it, we can confuse Cell long enough to reach the Lookout."

Trunks' eyes widened. "That's… brilliant."

Rudra allowed himself a faint smile, though it was weary. "It's risky. One wrong move, and he'll sense us immediately."

Gohan looked between them, worry etched into his young face. "But what if he does catch us before we reach the chamber?"

Rudra's gaze turned sharp. "Then we fight — with everything we have. But remember this…" His tone softened, filled with quiet conviction. "Our goal isn't to win now. It's to survive long enough to win later."

The two boys stared at him — Trunks with resolve, Gohan with wide-eyed fear and admiration.

They could feel the gravity of what he said. It wasn't just a plan; it was a war for time itself.

Rudra knelt slightly, resting a hand on Gohan's shoulder. "You have your father's heart, Gohan. You'll become even stronger than him one day. But not if you die now. Do you understand?"

Gohan hesitated — then nodded slowly, eyes burning with quiet determination.

Trunks crossed his arms, his expression calm but intense. "Then we prepare. We plan every step, every movement. We can't afford even one mistake."

Rudra stood tall again, his cloak swaying in the Namekian wind. "Agreed. We'll stay here for now — just long enough to rest and refine the ki-splitting technique. Once it's ready, we'll return to Earth. And then… we'll enter the Time Chamber."

He looked up toward the twin suns, their light glowing brighter now. For the first time since fleeing Cell, something flickered in Rudra's eyes — not hope, not yet, but resolve.

Trunks followed his gaze. "Two years inside… two days outside."

Rudra nodded. "When we step out, Cell will face warriors he never expected."

Gohan's young voice broke the silence, small but filled with courage. "We'll defeat him. For everyone."

Rudra smiled faintly — tired, but genuine. "Yes. For everyone."

---

The three of them stood together, overlooking the vast Namekian plains. The suns slowly dipped toward the horizon, painting the sky in shades of emerald and gold.

The wind whispered softly through the alien grass, carrying their promise into the distance.

For now, they had escaped the monster's reach.

But far away, in the void of space, that same monster stirred — his mind analyzing, learning, adapting. His perfection growing by the second.

And somewhere deep inside the silence of Namek, Rudra felt it — a faint echo, distant but unmistakable. Cell's presence, faint yet persistent, reaching… searching…

He turned his gaze toward the stars.

"We don't have much time."
