But in the end, he hadn't changed anything. He never expected that Danzo could actually use Izanagi (God's Creation) right now. If he had thought of it earlier, he would have just torn off all his bandages to see whether he had already stored Sharingan in them. If so, he could have destroyed them and stopped him from using that genjutsu.
Before, he thought Danzo only obtained the Rinnegan (Samsara Eye) after the Uchiha were annihilated, but now it seemed otherwise...
Izanagi (God's Creation)—a genjutsu that could turn all unfavorable conditions back to their initial state. Danzo used it to erase the fact that Shigeo had killed him. So, he returned to before his death—alive once again.
Shigeo looked at Jiraiya and Tsunade before him, and also Shizune to the side. If not for them, he really would've severed ties with Konoha forever. Now, since Danzo wasn't dead, then his bond with Konoha still remained.
He had to admit—even though Danzo treated him poorly, and the Third Hokage had used many schemes against him, there were still many people in Konoha who were kind to him: Itachi, Ayame, Uzuki Yugao, Inuzuka Hana, Hikaru, Yamashiro Aoba-sensei, and these three before him.
Their kindness—he would never forget in his lifetime.
But his hatred for certain people—he would never forget either. And since that man was still alive, it left him unsettled. Why had he endured in Konoha, hiding his true strength? Was it not because he couldn't bear to leave those who treated him well, while guarding against the schemes of small-minded men?
So Danzo was still alive? Fine. Then he would just kill him again.
"Gentlemen, excuse me for a moment, I drank too much fruit wine, my stomach feels a bit uncomfortable. I'll be right back!" Shigeo stood up and hurried out.
Leaving the tavern, he went to a deserted place. With a space-time shift, he instantly reappeared in Konoha.
At the same time, he used sensory techniques to locate Danzo. Another space-time shift—and he appeared behind him at the Root base. Danzo already sensed danger and turned around, but it was too late.
He heard the boy's voice from behind:
"You have Mokuton (Wood Release), so you should know Tenshoku no Jutsu (Implantation Technique), right?"
The next moment, Danzo's body convulsed in piercing pain before exploding apart by wood force. Once again, he died.
Danzo's terrified eyes still looked at Shigeo. He regretted it deeply—had he known this boy was so difficult to deal with, he never would have opposed him. But unexpectedly, he was killed once again.
And this time, he didn't even have the chance to fight back. The boy's ninjutsu seemed even stronger than before.
Shigeo reached out, ripping away the bandages from his arm and eye. He frowned in disgust—sure enough, both his right eye and his arm held Sharingan.
With a swift motion, he dug out both of them.
"Let's see how you use Izanagi now, Danzo. If you can still revive this time, then hear me—I'll kill you every time I see you. Let's find out whether you revive faster, or I kill you faster!"
He placed the two eyes into a jar of formalin taken from a scroll. Then, taking brush and ink, he wrote a large character seal and slapped it onto Danzo's forehead:
"Despicable Eye Thief!"
After finishing, Shigeo shook his head.
"This artwork is worse than the last one. Digging out eyes is just disgusting."
With that thought, he turned and disappeared.
Back at the southern Fire Country tavern, Shigeo washed his hands and returned to the table, a broad smile stretching across his lips.
"Come, gentlemen, I'm back. I'm so glad you came to find me today. Let's drink!"
Jiraiya and Tsunade lifted their cups. The three of them drank in one go.
None of them knew—in just a few minutes, Shigeo had once again killed Danzo. None of them knew that the boy's power had already surpassed all of their imaginations.
After drinking, Tsunade patted Shigeo's shoulder.
"When there's a chance, I'll personally teach you medical ninjutsu."
Shigeo nodded.
"Shigeo…" Shizune reached out and hugged him again, tears flowing.
"You'll come back to see me, right? You'll take care of yourself, right? You're only six years old!"
Shigeo nodded heavily.
"Shizune-neechan, I promise I'll come see you. You still have one of my summoning talismans, don't you? If you really miss me, just burn it, and I'll come to see you right away."
"Okay, okay!"
"I want one too, give me one!"
"Me too!"
Jiraiya and Tsunade both held out their hands. Shigeo handed each of them a talisman.
He thought that after this meal, they would part ways. But drunk, Jiraiya refused to let go of him, muttering about giving him the best education.
Suddenly, a burst of air current surrounded Shigeo. Jiraiya dragged him away, straight to Mount Myoboku.
"Gama, it's Jiraiya!" One of the toads saw him staggering drunkenly with a child and quickly went to report.
Jiraiya collapsed to the ground, mumbling hazily:
"You must live well… live well…" and then fell asleep.
He hadn't been able to stop Orochimaru's betrayal. But this child—he must keep him on the right path. At the very least, he couldn't let him go astray. This was something he was absolutely determined about.
So he slept, leaving Shigeo to face the toads alone.
Though he was only six, his heart wasn't that of a child. He understood well what Jiraiya-sensei's intentions were—everything he did was for his sake.
Soon, Fukasaku came rushing over. When he saw Shigeo clearly, he instinctively clutched his newly regrown beard and began retreating, as if afraid the child would burn it again.
"That frog—we've met before!" Shigeo suddenly said.
Fukasaku sighed deeply, then turned back with an awkward look. After a long pause, he finally relaxed.
"Yes, yes… we've met before."
He stroked his beard and came closer, kicking Jiraiya lying on the ground, but the man didn't budge—just snored away.
"Please, this way…" Fukasaku gestured, leading Shigeo toward the sacred land. As they walked, he kept sneaking glances at him.
How had this boy trained in Sennin Mode (Sage Mode) on his own? And in just a single day? And what was with his seven-colored Sage energy?
If he could defeat even himself, then surely all the toads of the mountain would stand no chance against him.
Thinking that, Fukasaku pointed forward again.
"Why don't we go to my home? My wife's cooking is excellent. We can eat while waiting for Jiraiya to wake up."
"Alright." Shigeo nodded politely.
"No… he can't eat bugs!" Suddenly, Jiraiya's voice rang out behind them. Staggering, he rushed over and pulled Shigeo into his arms, holding him dearly.
