Chapter 2372 - Ch: 11-18

Chapter 11 Playing Big

Spider-Gwen was extremely agile, but Arthur, with the enhancement of the Rabbit Talisman, could reach supersonic speeds. The gap between them was vast.

The battle quickly changed, resembling a turn-based game where Spider-Gwen was always at a disadvantage, being played with by the demon.

The repeated taunting made Gwen curse out loud, but the moment she stopped moving, Arthur was already behind her.

Arthur smiled beneath his mask and kicked out.

"!!!"

Her Spider-Sense warned her again, and Spider-Gwenquickly dodged, but she still took a kick to her backside and was sent flying!

Spider-Gwen spun in mid-air like a graceful dancer, landing steadily once more and dusting off her behind.

"Kicking a girl's butt! You're truly despicable, Mr. Demon!" Gwen shouted, "I take back my praise for you earlier."

She was no longer in the mood for more banter. It seemed she was no match for the demon. Even with her Spider-Sense giving early warnings, the demon's speed was too fast, and she couldn't evade his attacks at all.

Moreover, the demon had held back a lot. If he had unleashed that flame burst at high speed, she might have even been left on the Brooklyn Bridge today... "Good luck, Mr. Ferrari!" Spider-Gwen raised her hand, shot out a web, and grabbed a steel cable on the bridge. Her body instantly shot upwards and flew away. With a few swings of her web, she was hundreds of meters away.

"Good night, you detestable Mr. Demon!" Gwen's voice drifted from afar, "Next time, the righteous Spider-Womanwill still stop you from committing crimes!"

Running away when she couldn't win carried no psychological burden for Gwen. She just wanted to use her powers to find happiness and help others as much as possible, but it wasn't her obligation or job, nor did she have the responsibility to sacrifice herself to protect others...

Arthur glanced at Spider-Gwen's retreating figure. He stood on the railing of the Brooklyn Bridge, looking down. The Ferrari owner was still swaying on the web. From him, Arthur collected 500 villain points.

"Help! Save me!" The man was still calling for help, his voice intermittent in the wind.

"Next time, remember to obey traffic laws!" Arthur said in a low voice.

Arthur leaped from the railing and instantly vanished. In less than three seconds, he had left the Brooklyn Bridge. After entering the forest of skyscrapers, his acceleration was complete.

"Rooster Talisman: Float!"

"Rabbit Talisman: Extreme Speed!"

Under the power of the two talismans, Arthur's speed had reached its peak. Bursts of sonic booms erupted, shattering the glass walls of buildings along the street, scattering them everywhere. Who knew how many innocent vehicles and pedestrians were inadvertently harmed.

Gwen saw the demon's figure surpass her before she felt the terrifying sonic waves.

Arthur adjusted his tie. His tailcoat instantly transformed into an airline pilot's uniform.

"Miss Spider, I never said you could leave."

Arthur was smiling. Spider-Gwen was the first Superherohe had met. Arthur wanted to try to make her feel negative emotions to gain villain points or the more generous rewards the system spoke of.

Of course, if Gwen held a grudge and later found out Arthur was the demon, that would be a story for another time.

The sinister smile on the demon mask made Gwen feel a little scared. After all, just a few days ago, she was an ordinary teenage girl, whose dream was to live in a house made of chocolate...

[Detected 'Spider-Gwen's' mild fear emotion. villain points +200, +200, +200...]

Arthur heard the villain points truly begin to surge. The harvest in just a few short seconds was over a thousand points. To think that Arthur had just teased that rude Ferrari owner all the way from Manhattan to the Brooklyn Bridge and only gained 500 villain points...

Arthur looked at Gwen, his eyes beneath the demon maskalmost sparkling like stars. He seemed to have seen some rare treasure... or rather, it was more apt to say he looked like a hungry person seeing delicious lemon bass...

He wanted to play a big game and already had a preliminary idea! After all, with the mask on, he was not Arthur, but the demon.

The demon wasn't afraid of Spider-Gwen holding a grudge. If Gwen held a grudge against the demon, what did that have to do with Arthur?

Gwen also realized she couldn't shake off the demon; after all, his speed was far greater than hers.

Spider-Gwen stopped swinging webs and instead came between two tall buildings. She continuously shot webs upwards, gaining height, and finally landed steadily on a building.

Spider-Gwen climbed upwards, clinging to the wall. Both in her abilities and movements, she resembled a beautiful spider.

She reached the rooftop of the tall building. Since she couldn't escape the demon, she might as well get away from the crowds and the city and have an open and honest talk with the demon to understand his intentions.

Gwen judged that the demon might have ill will towards her, but not murderous intent. After all, with the demon's abilities, he could easily take her life at any time.

Gwen stood on the rooftop, confronting the demon. Throughout the process, the demon followed her like a Shadow. The demon's flight didn't require any external force, and his speed was even greater.

"Not running anymore, Miss Spider?" Arthur lowered his voice, "Or have you given up on the chance to survive?"

"Listen, this hunter game isn't fun at all! And spiders will always be hunters, never prey." Gwen retorted, "I don't care what your purpose is, but stop following me!"

Arthur walked on the narrow rooftop railing. Below him were bustling streets, but at such a high floor, even car horns couldn't be heard. He spread his arms to maintain balance, like a tightrope walker in a circus.

"You ruined my game, so now you'll be my entertainment." Arthur said with a smile, "You weren't like this when you were saving people just now... Confident and brave, I liked the old you."

"So what do you want to do?"

Spider-Gwen slowly crouched down, one hand touching the ground. This was her preparatory stance for an attack.

"Take off your mask and let me see your face, beautiful lady." The demon said, word by word.

This was Arthur's plan: taking off Spider-Gwen's mask would definitely make her explode with all her negative emotions.

With her mask on, she was Spider-Woman, free and unrestrained, able to punish evil and even tease the Police.

But with her mask off, she was just a 17-year-old girl, special only for her excellent grades and pretty appearance. As an ordinary girl, she had many concerns: teachers, friends, classmates, and most importantly, family...

If her secret as Spider-Woman leaked out, Gwen couldn't even imagine how much trouble it would cause!

Her father would be disappointed in her. After all, Chief George always hoped to arrest Spider-Woman. If he knew Spider-Woman was his own daughter, it would be incredibly difficult for him to accept.

Classmates and friends would look at her strangely and distance themselves from her.

At that time, she would lose the wonderful life a young girl possesses. More importantly, she cared about many things. If those evil criminals plotted to destroy what she cared about, it would be a disaster for her.

"Absolutely not!" Gwen said decisively, "And to disappoint you, I'm an ugly monster under this mask."

Chapter 12 Taking Off the Mask

Although Gwen spoke decisively and her attitude was very firm, her emotional changes could not be hidden from Arthur, who possessed the villain system.

[Detected 'Spider-Gwen's' severe fear, villain points+400, +400, +400...]

[Detected 'Spider-Gwen's' slight anger, villain points+200, +200, +200...]

[Detected 'Spider-Gwen's' slight nervousness, villain points +100, +100, +100...]

Arthur suppressed his ecstasy from gaining a huge amount of villain points and continued to play his role as a terrifying demon.

"Demons can discern lies. Don't struggle, beautiful Miss Spider!" Arthur said calmly, "Or do you think you can resist me?"

Spider-Gwen shot out a web, and her body leaped backward, arcing through the air before plummeting vertically.

But Arthur was even faster. With the Lv7 Rabbit Talisman, he covered dozens of meters in just 0.1 seconds!

"!!!"

Her spider sense gave a warning, but Gwen's movements were too slow!

Arthur reached out and removed Spider-Gwen's mask, revealing a captivating face. As she rapidly fell, her golden hair stood up, like beautiful ribbons fluttering in the wind.

[Detected 'Spider-Gwen's' severe anger, villain points+400, +400, +400...]

[Detected 'Spider-Gwen's' severe nervousness, villain points +200, +200, +200...]

[Detected 'Spider-Gwen's' anxiety, villain points +100, +100, +100...]

..."Whoosh!"

Spider-Gwen shot a web, gripping tightly to the wall of a tall building. Her rapidly falling body came to an abrupt halt, and with the elastic potential energy of the web, she leaped into the air again. In the instant she was suspended, she shot another web to move, her movements graceful and fluid.

Spider-Gwen continuously shot webs, swinging between the towering buildings and quickly making her escape.

"I'll remember you, demon!" Gwen's trembling voice slowly dissipated into the air.

"And I'll remember your face, Miss Spider!" Arthur said, watching her golden hair flutter as she left.

Gwen returned to her residential area and only exhaled deeply after confirming the demon hadn't followed her.

The power the demon displayed was simply too strong, completely overwhelming her and putting considerable pressure on her.

Fortunately, the demon had no ill will towards her, otherwise, another Superhero would have been cut short... Gwen crawled along the wall, opened the window, and entered her room. She collapsed onto the sofa, taking deep breaths and slowly calming her emotions.

The joy of gaining power and becoming a Superhero had been dispelled by the demon. Gwen thought that she needed to be more careful when wandering the streets in the future...

Suddenly, Gwen stood up from the sofa. She grabbed her pajamas from the bed and haphazardly pulled them on, covering the spider suit she hadn't had time to change out of.

She heard approaching footsteps outside her bedroom door...

"Knock knock!" The door was gently knocked. "Hey, Gwen, honey, do you want a cup of cocoa? Your brother made some."

"No, Dad, I don't want any! And I remember telling you not to disturb me." Gwen only poked her head out after opening the door, to avoid being exposed.

"Well, I saw your room light was on again, so I just asked." George said, shrugging.

"And I'm 17 now, don't call me honey." Gwen said with a faint smile.

George couldn't help but chuckle, "But I remember someone last week saying she always dreamed of living in a chocolate house."

"That's not realistic!" Gwen covered her face. "And I'd get fat, chocolate has too many calories!"

"Slam!" Gwen closed the door.

George stood there, looking bewildered. He felt his daughter's state was a little strange tonight.

Two seconds later, the door opened again, and Gwenlooked apologetic: "Sorry, Dad, my mood, attitude, and state... are all a bit off."

"It's okay. Then you should go to bed early."

"Yes, so I can't drink cocoa. I'm still busy with other things." Gwen thought for a moment, "Busy with... well... okay, I have menstrual cramps, I'm feeling very uncomfortable right now, and my emotions are a bit volatile."

"OK, I understand." George nodded.

"No, you wouldn't understand."

"No, I can understand!"

"Alright, thanks for understanding." Gwen said, leaning on the doorframe, "Good night, Dad."

"Good night, honey."

Gwen smiled helplessly and closed the door.

Back in her room, she slowly took off her pajamas and the spider suit underneath. She lay on the bed, hugging a doll, and wrapped herself in the blanket... But the demon's words still echoed in her ears— "I'll remember your face."

Gwen was a bit at a loss. Her emotions were very complex now: fear, worry, confusion, bewilderment... The demon was clearly someone she couldn't contend with, but the demon had already confirmed her true identity beneath the spider mask. Clearly, the demon was clinging to her with full malice!

Gwen was very worried about this, for example, whether she would wake up tomorrow morning to find the demon sitting in her room watching her, or if the demon would harm her family... Gwen didn't even dare to think about it!

If her family was harmed because of her, she would surely live with regret for the rest of her life.

She didn't know how much time had passed; it was already late, and Gwen still hadn't fallen asleep, nor had she managed to calm her chaotic mind.

Gwen extended a hand from under the covers and grabbed her phone from the bedside table.

23:59, it was very late.

She opened her contacts and scrolled through them. As a top student and the campus beauty, she was truly a prominent figure at Midtown School of Science and Technology. Moreover, she had entered society early, not only enjoying social practice activities but also interning at companies. She had many contacts, and her phonebook was full of people.

Mary Jane Watson, Betty Brant, Glorie Grant, but she found it difficult to find someone she could confide in late at night, someone who could alleviate her worries and negative emotions.

These people were all ordinary graduates, and most of the worries graduates faced were about academics, family, and love; no one would understand her... Suddenly, Gwen, as if by some impulse, searched for "L." Her finger stopped on "Luo's" phone number. Gwen remembered that she also knew an unusual graduate.

Arthur, that mysterious transfer student.

He possessed impressive personal combat skills. Whether it was the school bully Fletcher or the thugs he encountered on the subway, Arthur could easily deal with them. Just this point alone was something ordinary graduates couldn't do.

He advocated violence, was indifferent to people, and never wasted words on matters that could be resolved with fists.

Furthermore, Gwen being bitten by a mutated spider and becoming Spider-Gwen was also due to him. To this day, Gwen couldn't be sure if her accidental entry into that laboratory was a coincidence or premeditated.

But Gwen's finger stopped on the dial button; she didn't know if she should make this call... New book reads are very important, please support, fellow readers!

Chapter 13 Late Night Telegraph

In Queens, where rows of Villas stood, Arthur had just finished washing up and lay down after returning home.

The demon mask lay quietly beside him, and in the dim light, every line and detail on the mask was lifelike.

In this dark and quiet night, the terrifying and ferocious demon mask lying on the white bedsheet looked particularly eerie... Tonight was a night of harvest. The villain system showed that Arthur had gained over 20,000 villain points tonight, nearly half of which were from Spider-Gwen.

Arthur tasted the sweetness for the first time, and now he paid more attention to information about Superheroes, because they were all walking treasures.

Of course, Spider-Gwen had already attracted most of his attention. Before discovering new Superheroes, Arthurdecided to firmly grasp Spider-Gwen and fleece her.

A fluorescent blue 3D interface appeared before Arthur. His total villain points had now reached 30,000, which could be said to be very rich.

He opened the villain points mall and searched for the keywords "Web-Shooters" and "spider suit."

Arthur naturally wouldn't forget the biggest contributor to his harvest tonight. He decided to purchase some practical equipment to give to Spider-Gwen at the right time and in the right way.

Moreover, his act of taking off Gwen's spider mask was indeed a bit excessive, as no one without a mask wants to expose their true identity to others.

Both Web-Shooters and the spider suit greatly increase Spider-Gwen's combat power. In the comics, various Spider-Men often encounter problems with their Web-Shooters during battle, either a firing malfunction or not being waterproof or shockproof. They always upgrade after suffering a setback, but with Arthur's help, Spider-Gwencan avoid many detours.

The effectiveness of the spider suit goes without saying. Every Spider-Man's first-generation suit was only made of elastic fibers, and neither the material, craftsmanship, nor functionality were up to par. Compared to the equipment of other Superheroes, it was much inferior, so it's no wonder Iron Man would call Spider-Man a pajama baby.

Captain America's shield, Iron Man's armor, Thor's hammer... these artifacts are what Superheroes should possess.

Arthur found these pieces of equipment in the villain system mall, but each was quite expensive.

For example, the "Advanced Web-Shooters" cost 7,500 villain points. The description stated that it could fire multi-functional webs, such as capture nets, web-bullets, and electrified webs. Not only was the quality excellent, but it was also waterproof, fireproof, and shockproof.

If Spider-Gwen were equipped with it, dealing with subsequent minor villains like Dr. Connors and Electro should be more than enough.

The "Multi-functional spider suit" cost even more, 30,000 villain points. This spider suit not only enhanced defense, allowing it to withstand bullets and ordinary bombs, but also came equipped with features such as spider drones, gliders, a one-button skin-tightening device, and a thermal imaging system... Of course, the mall also sold MK series spider suits, which, while having fewer functions, were much cheaper.

After seeing the high prices, Arthur silently closed the mall. As for equipment, he would wait until he had earned more villain points from Spider-Gwen.

"Good night!" Arthur's finger brushed the demon maskbeside him.

Just as Arthur was about to fall asleep, his phone on the bedside table suddenly rang.

He glanced at the caller ID; it was Gwen.

Arthur couldn't help but wonder why Gwen was calling him late at night.

Perhaps Gwen was scared by his demon today and couldn't sleep, so she called to chat and seek a sense of security?

However, this was somewhat amusing in Arthur's eyes, as Gwen's fear was, after all, caused by him...

Arthur answered the phone, put it on speaker, and placed it next to his pillow.

He didn't speak... Gwen, seeing the call connected, felt inexplicably nervous. Suddenly, she remembered the scene in the Osborn Group, in the laboratory full of mutated spiders, when Arthur stood behind her, and she trembled slightly when their skin touched.

Recalling it now, that wonderful feeling was still very clear, as if a weak current passed through her body, causing an inexplicable flutter.

They hadn't met much since that day, mostly in study groups.

Gwen now realized that she had been subconsciously avoiding Arthur, and Arthur's reaction was even colder than hers, treating her no differently from other girls on campus; he was even closer to Hanna.

This made Gwen feel somewhat disappointed, as girls her age cared a lot about their charm and attractiveness to boys, and even Gwen, who was used to boys' attentions, was no exception.

Gwen didn't quite know how to start. She just wanted someone to talk to, and what they talked about wasn't important.

"Arthur?" Gwen called out softly, tentatively. If it weren't for Arthur's faint breathing sound coming from the phone's earpiece, she would have suspected the person on the other end had already fallen asleep.

"Here," Arthur said calmly.

Arthur's response was a bit cold, which made Gwensomewhat disappointed. If other boys in the class received her call at night, they would surely be flattered, right? Even Harry Osborn, a boy who didn't admire her, would enthusiastically care for her.

Reserve and subtlety are part of Arthur's national culture, so Arthur's reaction is normal! Gwen comforted herself.

"What are you doing?"

"If I hadn't been disturbed by you, I should have been asleep," Arthur said. "And when you call, you should state your reason."

"Uh..." Gwen was momentarily speechless, but constantly probing wasn't her style. She was cheerful, lively, and brave, preferring to be direct.

"Let me see what time it is. Oh, it's past midnight, it's really late..." Gwen said. "But I can't sleep, maybe it's insomnia or something... Can you talk to me? I'm sorry to interrupt your sleep."

Arthur: "Sure, it's not the first time I've slept with you anyway."

Gwen: "..."

Gwen was speechless for a moment, but then she thought Arthur was actually right. That day when Arthur took her home on the subway, she had fallen asleep leaning on him, it was just that his way of saying it was too... too ambiguous!

"I've been under a lot of pressure lately... You know, with school and Dr. Connors's team, there's a pile of things, and today I encountered another problem... academically, don't overthink it!

"Many things are weighing me down, making it hard to breathe, but it's also hard to give up. There are always these reasons, and sometimes I really worry, afraid I'll mess everything up..."

Gwen babbled on, and Arthur listened patiently.

"You're just a middle school student, not some Superhero. Don't put too much pressure on yourself," Arthur said softly. "There's no difficulty that can't be overcome. Just learn to give up..."

Chapter 14 Superheroes and Villains

In the corridor, Fletcher, who had been flirting with a girl, suddenly raised his book to cover his face, then took two steps back and pressed against the wall, motionless.

A dozen seconds later, Arthur and Gwen walked by, side by side, chatting and laughing.

After that phone call the previous night, their relationship had become much closer, or perhaps it was more accurate to say that Gwen had become much more intimate with Arthur.

"They're very afraid of you," Gwen said, tilting her head.

"That's excellent," Arthur said, nodding in satisfaction, because then he could constantly gain villain points.

"This isn't a normal relationship between classmates! I think you should try to change their perception of you." Gwen shook her head, pulling at her backpack strap. "Actually, you're not… not bad at all, not as bad or violent as they think."

"Who cares what others think?" Arthur said with an indifferent expression. "Also, perhaps your impression of me isn't accurate; it might have been idealized by yourself."

"OK, then I'll start changing now," Gwen said after thinking for a moment. "You're truly evil and violent, practically comparable to a demon!"

"Thanks for the compliment!" Arthur smiled as he walked to his locker and put his books inside.

He saw that Arthur didn't dislike demons; he even liked them… he clearly took that as a compliment!

"You like demons?" Gwen leaned closer. "I'm not talking about demons from myths and the Bible, but the demon who runs rampant in New York every day… Well, 'demon' is just his nickname. He's actually a human wearing a demon mask; God gave him power, but he used it in the wrong way."

"You seem to know a lot about him?"

"Of course, I often read the news!" Gwen said, holding up her phone as a gesture.

"I like the demon; he possesses such great power, living without restraint and freely," Arthur said with a smile, but strangely, Gwen couldn't see a hint of envy in his eyes.

"You said one thing brilliantly: 'the demon runs rampant in New York every day.' I like running rampant. As you can see, I also 'run rampant' in school every day, so I must be the demon—the Midtown School of Science and Technology's branch demon!"

"Alright, I admit you're cool!" Gwen clapped her hands. "But that's a wrong value system; everyone shouldn't build their happiness on the suffering of others."

"You are correct," Arthur said. "Please continue to uphold that in the future!"

Gwen hadn't expected Arthur not to refute her… Arthurlocked his locker and turned to leave, but Gwenapproached him again.

"So, what do you think of Spider-Woman?" she asked, her face full of anticipation, her eyes shining brightly.

"Spider-Woman?" Arthur paused for a second.

"Yes, yes, yes!" Gwen nodded frantically.

"She's awful!" Arthur said with a sigh. "Lawbreaking, selfish, stupid… I really don't want to use these negative words to describe a person, but Spider-Woman is just that bad!"

Gwen's smile froze… "She makes fools of the police, causes traffic paralysis, and hangs citizens from bridges with webs and then abandons them, forcing the fire department to spend half an hour rescuing people!"

Gwen's face had darkened, but Arthur continued:

"Spider-Woman also likes to play the righteous role of arresting criminals, but she foolishly mistakenly arrests a police informant, causing half a year of effort by a police precinct to go to waste! Are these the actions a Superheroshould take?

"The worst part has to be her aesthetics! That black and white uniform paired with blue ballet shoes… all I can say is she has a lot of ideas!"

Gwen fell silent. She wanted to refute something, but everything Arthur said were stupid things she had personally done.

"Why are you silent?" Arthur asked, a smile on his face.

"It seems you know quite a bit about Spider-Woman too," Gwen said faintly.

"I read the news too!" Arthur also pulled out his phone and waved it. "And I'm a loyal fan of The Daily Bugle!"

"No wonder…" Gwen understood.

The Daily Bugle is a more entertainment-oriented media outlet, and also Spider-Woman's number one hater, often maliciously slandering Spider-Woman, and even falsely accusing her of things she didn't do, all to boost newspaper sales.

"What about the demon? He's a hundred times worse than Spider-Woman!" Gwen said huffily. "That's a double standard! It's very unfair!"

"The demon isn't a Superhero; he's an evil villain!" Arthurshrugged. "Can the criteria for judging a villain and a Superhero be the same?"

Gwen was momentarily speechless… "Compared to other villains, the demon hasn't committed terrorist acts, he's not a serial killer, and he's never robbed banks or jewelry stores. As for drugs and the underworld, those have nothing to do with him!" Arthur said. "The demon has even performed righteous acts as a villain! He solved a kidnapping case, often helps lone girls on the streets, and teaches some drug addicts a lesson!"

Arthur concluded with a beaming smile: "Compared to them, the demon is simply the kindest, most law-ababiding, and most public-spirited villain! He possesses great power, but the harm he poses to society is far less than some gang leaders. As for occasionally causing some trouble for the police, that's acceptable. You wouldn't want the demon to suddenly decide to destroy Earth and eliminate all of humanity one day, would you?"

Gwen's brain crashed; she even felt that Arthur made a lot of sense… The demon's rating among villains indeed far exceeded Spider-Woman's rating among Superheroes.

Gwen stopped talking, just walked forward with her head down, her face clearly unhappy… She was starting to doubt herself.

"Gwen!" Arthur smiled and reached for her arm, but Gwenpulled away.

Gwen adjusted her backpack and walked straight towards the exit. She walked very fast, ignoring Arthur's calls.

"Hey, Gwen!" Arthur walked in front of Gwen to block her. Gwen tried to go around him to the left, and he moved left; Gwen went right, and he moved right.

Gwen looked at Arthur's grinning face huffily, and glared at him.

Only then did Gwen realize they were very close due to the pushing and shoving. Her hand was pressed against Arthur's firm chest; Arthur was almost about to embrace her, but she didn't say anything, just blushed slightly.

"I was lying to you; I was just kidding," Arthur said with a serious expression. "Spider-Woman is actually great. She's brave and righteous, fights criminals, and helps the weak. As a new Superhero, it's normal to make some mistakes at first… "Oh, and the black and white suit is cool, and the blue ballet shoes are the perfect touch, completely worthy of Fashion Week!

"Every citizen hopes that when they encounter danger, the beautiful Spider-Woman will descend from the sky to rescue them!"

"Lies! You've never seen Spider-Woman take off her mask, so how do you know she's pretty!" Gwen pouted slightly.

"Judging by her back, figure, and demeanor, a kind person like her must be a great beauty," Arthur said. "Like you, Gwen."

"You're just saying that to make me happy!" Gwen said, shaking her head.

"That's not important," Arthur said, looking into Gwen's eyes. "You like Spider-Woman, so I'll like her too, that's all…"

Gwen lowered her head. "Oh."

Thanks to reader "Jianghu Gurenfeng" for the patron reward, thanks to reader "Mo Chen" for the reward, thanks to reader "Which do you choose, pudding or jelly" for the reward.

Chapter 15 Lemon Bass

"Is that good now?"

Gwen nodded. As soon as they parted, she pulled Arthurback again.

Gwen: "Do you like lemon perch?"

Arthur: "Lemon and perch?"

Gwen: "Uh, yes, it's a way to prepare fish!"

Arthur: "Sounds pretty good, maybe I'll like it."

"That's perfect then!" Gwen took off her backpack, opened it, and with slightly trembling hands, found a pen and paper. After writing down an address, she tore it off and handed it to Arthur.

"If you want, you can go to this place tonight at eight," Gwen said, clutching the pen. "My mom's making lemon perch tonight."

"Okay," Arthur folded the note and put it in his pocket. "I'll be on time."

"See you tonight then?" Gwen turned to look back at Arthur.

"See you tonight, bye."

Gwen clasped her hands behind her back, her fingers intertwined. She walked with a skip in her step, seemingly elated, her happiness impossible to hide.

"Oh, right, it's apartment 2016! I forgot to write the room number." Gwen walked a few steps, then suddenly turned back, smiled, and said, "I don't know why, hahaha, I'm a little nervous..."

Arthur nodded, standing still with a smile.

At the end of the corridor behind him, Peter Parker, with a bandage wrapped around his head, watched everything indifferently.

Peter opened his backpack and took out an old, yellowed notebook. The notebook in his hand bore the marks of time, looking very aged. Slowly, his gaze became resolute...

—

Night fell over New York. Arthur drove a somewhat old Ford car, crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, and arrived at Park Row in Manhattan.

On the way, he encountered a Police cordon, with many patrol cars gathered, indicating another major case had occurred.

Normally, he would have put on his demon mask to join the fun, earning a hefty sum of villain points from criminals and Police officers, but tonight he wasn't in the mood.

Arthur arrived beneath a high-end apartment building. Gwen was already waiting for him in the open space. He flashed his headlights to greet Gwen.

"You can park the car here!"

Gwen directed, wearing a purple fitted sweater, her blonde hair tied in a ponytail, with neat bangs across her forehead.

"A little further back, a little more, there's still plenty of space!" Gwen looked very happy. "OK, perfect! Your driving skills are comparable to mine!"

Of course, Arthur didn't need Gwen's directions at all.

As soon as the car stopped, Gwen ran to open his door. Arthur got out, and Gwen's eyes lit up.

"You're wearing a full suit?" Gwen's tone was a little surprised.

"Yes, as you can see." Arthur smoothed his collar.

"Let's go." Gwen took his arm, saying. Arthur's seriousness about this dinner made her even happier.

"Wait a moment, I also brought a gift, it's in the trunk." Seeing Gwen's surprised smile, Arthur explained, "You know, it's a custom where I'm from."

"Yes, I understand, thank you for preparing it so thoughtfully, I hope it wasn't too much trouble for you."

Gwen accompanied him to retrieve the gift. They took the elevator to the 20th floor. After ringing the doorbell, a middle-aged man opened the door. He was wearing a well-tailored suit, his hair and tie meticulously groomed, looking very particular about his attire and demeanor.

George Stacy. Arthur was naturally not unfamiliar with Chief George.

"You must be Ricardo."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, sir." Arthur extended his hand.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too." George's face was solemn. He scrutinized Arthur, a habit he had as a Policeofficer.

George's initial impression of Arthur was very good: well-dressed, without the flashy earrings and tattoos many young people sport, and he appeared very composed. It was well known that his gaze intimidated both Policesubordinates and criminals.

They shook hands and then released.

"Dinner will be ready soon." George said, "I hope you like lemon perch."

Gwen first led Arthur to her room.

"My dad didn't scare you just now, did he?" Gwen said with some helplessness, "Perhaps because of his job, he's a bit serious."

Arthur smiled and shook his head. If he were in his demon identity, it would be Chief George, who rarely smiled, who would feel intimidated.

"Is this your room?" Arthur turned his head to look. "There are so many books."

"Personal hobby! Many are literary classics and biochemistry textbooks." Gwen sat on the sofa and stretched her body. "Even the smartest people at Midtown Tech need to diligently acquire knowledge."

Arthur stood in front of the bookshelf. "'One Hundred Years of Solitude,' 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance,' 'A Tale of Two Cities'... I quite like this one, 'The Great Gatsby.'"

Gwen pulled out 'The Great Gatsby,' which was at the very bottom, and handed it to Arthur. "It's for you, consider it a return gift for the flowers you gave me."

"It's good to give and take, but I've already read the content of this book." Arthur recited the original text, "'So he bought a gold hat, and he did a little dance. He jumped up and down, and he said, 'Dear love, with a gold hat, and a little dance, I must have you!'"

"I like the part at the end where Gatsby pursues the green light." Gwen's eyes were very gentle. "Now my impression of you has changed again, with a bit more artistic flair."

Before dinner, Arthur distributed the gifts. For Gwen, there were fresh flowers. For Gwen's mother, a brooch. For Chief George, a book.

Arthur prepared two newly released PlayStation 11s for Gwen's two younger brothers, instantly winning them over. Seeing her brothers' suggestive glances, Gwen could only awkwardly meet Arthur's gaze.

After some pleasantries and inquiries, Gwen's mother asked George to talk about work to liven up the atmosphere.

"Dad, did you catch that Spider-Woman yet?" Gwen's younger brother, Howard, immediately asked. Children are most interested in Superheroes.

This topic made Gwen a little uncomfortable. She subconsciously turned to look at Arthur, who was focused on cutting his perch with a dinner knife, as if the topic couldn't capture his attention.

"And the demon! My classmate's brother was bullied by the demon; the demon stuffed him into a roadside trash can, he's such a bad guy!"

George put down his dinner knife and said, "The Policehaven't caught them yet, but we won't give up. Whether it's Spider-Woman or the demon, as long as they are criminals who threaten public safety, the Police will pursue them to the end!"

"Who's a criminal? Spider-Woman is a criminal?" Gwensaid, displeased, "As far as I know, Spider-Woman hasn't broken any laws, although she has made some mistakes..."

Just as George was about to say something, his wife across the dinner table stopped him with a look.

George still didn't refute Gwen. Lately, he and Gwen often argued about Spider-Woman. He could understand it; Gwen was only 17, her values were not yet mature, and it was normal for her to be a little blind in her admiration for a female Superhero.

"So what do you think of the demon and Spider-Woman?" George turned his gaze to Arthur, clasping his hands and resting his chin on them. "Ricardo."

Chapter 16 Lizardman

Traffic was congested on the Brooklyn Bridge.

It was the evening rush hour for commuters, and horns blared incessantly as drivers vented their restless and dissatisfied moods.

At this time, whether you were driving a luxury supercar or an affordable private car, you could only inch a few meters through the traffic in several minutes.

In a yellow taxi, Dr. Connors, still wearing his white lab coat, looked pale. He pressed his forehead hard against the back of the front seat to alleviate his pain. Beads of sweat, the size of soybeans, rolled down his head.

Dr. Connors gripped his newly grown left hand with his right. White skin kept peeling off his new left hand, accompanied by intense pain.

"Hey, sir, are you alright?" The taxi driver noticed something was off with the passenger in the back seat and asked cautiously.

"It's nothing, I'm fine!" Dr. Connors' voice was hoarse, but the taxi driver felt it sounded like a Beast roaring.

The driver carefully observed the passenger in the back seat through the rearview mirror and was suddenly startled!

Connors' neck and half of his face had turned blue, and the blueness was still spreading, like a monster in a movie transforming from a human into a Beast... "Sir, you look very unwell. Should I take you to a hospital?" the driver asked, mustering his courage.

"No, thank you," Connors said, raising his head and meeting the driver's gaze in the mirror. By now, his face had completely turned blue.

Connors pushed open the car door, got out, and slowly walked through the traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge... "Demon and Spider-Woman?" Arthur paused in his action of cutting lemon sea bass with a dinner knife.

"That's right, what are your thoughts on them?" Georgelooked directly into Arthur's eyes, his gaze seeming to see through everything.

"Two anarchists," Arthur said indifferently. He speared a side dish of broccoli with his dinner fork, put it in his mouth, and chewed slowly.

"Is that all?" George became interested. Arthur's answer surprisingly coincided with his own. "From what I know, you young people all admire these powerful and free individuals. Many people online claim they are righteous Superheroes, and videos of them toying with the Policealways go viral, getting a lot of views and likes."

"The Demon is a criminal. Only people with distorted values would admire a criminal!" Arthur said, putting down his dinner knife. "Spider-Woman still has a long way to go. A true Superhero would not stand against the Police."

Gwen almost rolled her eyes seeing Arthur's serious demeanor. Who was it that had told her before that he admired the Demon?

Arthur had spoken so confidently back then, but now, facing her father, the Police Director, Arthur had changed his tune!

Gwen really didn't know whether to call him clever or a lying cheat.

George raised his drink, signaling everyone to toast. Tonight, he smiled for the first time, and now he was even more pleased with Arthur.

George said to Gwen, "You should learn his rationality and how he views things."

"Oh, I will, Dad!" Gwen sighed softly, lowering her head and pressing her hand to her forehead.

If you truly knew what kind of person Arthur is, you wouldn't tell me to learn from him!

Dinner was proceeding pleasantly when a sudden, urgent phone ring broke the warm atmosphere in the restaurant.

George took out his phone to answer. His face darkened after the person on the other end spoke only two sentences.

After hanging up, George stood up and said apologetically, "Sorry, I might have to excuse myself. There are some matters at the Police station that I need to handle!"

"Daddy, has the Demon arrived? Is he causing destruction again?" Howard asked in a childish voice.

"No, this time it's a criminal we've never seen before," George said, picking up his suit. "A monster resembling a Lizard Man attacked the Brooklyn Bridge. Traffic is backed up on the bridge, and many citizens haven't had time to evacuate."

After briefly explaining the situation, George left. The rest of the people at the dinner table had no heart to continue eating. Except for Arthur, he was still eating with great relish.

Gwen's two younger brothers were both captivated by the Lizard Man monster their dad described. It sounded like the Lizard Man was a mutated species, similar to Spider-Woman.

Gwen and her mother were worried about George. After all, from the situation, it was clear that the criminal the Police had to deal with tonight was somewhat tricky, and the case was very complex.

Gwen was already thinking about how to sneak out. A Lizard Man monster was something she had never heard of, and she wanted to see it for herself, and also protect her father's safety. She didn't think her father and a group of Police officers could handle the Lizard Man.

"He's always like this, often rushing out after a call from the Police station during off-hours and holidays," Gwen's mother said. "I think this is terrible; work and life should not affect each other."

"It's his duty, Mom," Gwen comforted.

"Mr. George is a competent Police Director," Arthur also said.

"Alright, dinner's over. I'll walk you downstairs, Arthur," Gwen said, taking Arthur's hand and walking off.

"Gwen!" Mrs. Stacy was somewhat displeased with her daughter's impolite behavior.

"It's getting late, it's time to go home. I've finished eating too, thank you for your hospitality!" Arthur said with a smile, naturally understanding Gwen's thoughts.

"Alright, you're welcome to come again next time. Remember to stay away from the Brooklyn Bridge on your way back," Mrs. Stacy said with a smile. "Also, I really like the brooch you gave me!"

Gwen took Arthur down the elevator and finally reached the parking lot.

"I thought tonight would be a wonderful night," Arthursaid with a smile. "I didn't expect a damned Lizard Man to show up."

"It's already wonderful enough!" Gwen said. "My mom and dad both really like you. You did very well."

"I'm always very likable!" Arthur said confidently.

"Then you should go to the school forum and check out Midtown Tech's most hated list!" Gwen said, shaking her head. "I won't tell you that your name is at the top."

"Be careful on your way. Bye-bye," Gwen said, stepping to the roadside and waving.

"See you tomorrow," Arthur said, driving off in his Ford.

Before the Ford had driven off Parker Row, Arthur looked up out the window, and a White and black Shadow streaked across the street.

Drivers waiting at a red light were also attracted by the sound. "It's Spider-Woman!" someone shouted, pointing at the sky.

Spider-Woman continuously shot webs, swinging between buildings, and quickly disappeared around the corner, in the direction of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Arthur unbuckled his seatbelt and successively unbuttoned his suit jacket.

He slowly pulled out a demon mask from inside his clothes...

Chapter 17 Police Devil

Spider-Gwen descended along the Brooklyn Bridge's cables. On the bridge deck, the Police were in a standoff with the monster Lizard Man. Many citizens had no choice but to abandon their cars and flee the scene in a panic.

"Fire!" Chief George of the Police squad commanded, and all the officers instantly fired in unison, only ceasing their attack after emptying their clips.

Bullets splattered dense sparks on the Lizard Man's body. His defense was not strong; the bullets easily pierced his skin, bursting into sprays of blood.

However, the Lizard Man's self-healing ability was too powerful. His wounds healed at a visible rate, and the bullets embedded in his body were pushed out, falling onto the asphalt with a crisp sound. This sight shocked everyone.

Ordinary Police firearms could only injure him, not inflict fatal wounds... but the intense pain instantly enraged the Lizard Man.

The Lizard Man roared, actually lifting a taxi weighing over a ton and throwing it towards the area where the Policewere located! This showed everyone his immense strength!

Fortunately, the Lizard Man's aim was not very good, and the officers reacted quickly, preventing any casualties.

Chief George once again organized the officers to open fire. He had already arranged for heavy Firepower weapon support, which no carbon-based life form could withstand, and the Lizard Man would naturally be no exception.

But currently, the Police's mission remained arduous: they had to contain the Lizard Man on the Brooklyn Bridge, waiting for heavy Firepower weapons to arrive to kill him.

If the Lizard Man entered the city, it would be no less than a small disaster, threatening the property and personal safety of many citizens.

The enraged Lizard Man charged through the barrage of bullets. The officers dodged one after another, but the Lizard Man's speed was too great. In an instant, several officers were severely wounded by his sharp claws and tail sweep, losing their ability to move.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" The brave Chief George fired his Colt Enforcer revolver, drawing the Lizard Man away from the injured officers.

Although Chief George was middle-aged, his movements were still agile. He dodged the Lizard Man's attacks several times, but at the same time, he was also forced into a dead end by the Lizard Man!

The officers behind him also tried to shoot to attract the Lizard Man's attention, but this Lizard Man seemed to possess considerable intelligence, focusing all his attention on Chief George, who was leading the officers.

The Lizard Man swung his tail to attack, and Chief Georgereluctantly ducked into the Police car behind him. The Police car absorbed the blow and was almost overturned, its body severely deformed.

The Lizard Man jumped onto the Police car, slowly tearing open the roof with his sharp claws. Chief George calmly reloaded and fired within the shaking car. Both car doors were damaged and could not be opened normally. It seemed the Lizard Man could pierce his skull with his sharp claws in the next second... "Heh heh!"

Spider-Gwen swung on a web and delivered a flying kick to the Lizard Man!

The Lizard Man was kicked back more than ten meters, rolling several times on the asphalt before stopping.

Spider-Gwen crouched on the car roof, extending her hand to the shaken Chief George.

"You look like you're in great need of help, Director!"

Spider-Gwen easily pulled Chief George out of the wrecked Police car. This was also Chief George's first close encounter with the renowned Spider-Woman.

Chief George did not speak. After all, he had stated in the media that he would definitely send Spider-Woman to prison, but now she had saved him.

If he knew the truth, that the one who had just saved him from the Lizard Man was Gwen, his emotional journey would likely be very interesting.

Although Spider-Woman was also on the Police's arrest list, there was now a more important, more destructive, and more dangerous target... the Lizard Man. Chief Georgequickly set aside his prejudices and decided that the Policeand Spider-Woman would cooperate to complete the mission of containing the Lizard Man.

Otherwise, with the current strength of the Police, let alone containing the Lizard Man on the Brooklyn Bridge, even surviving the Lizard Man would be difficult.

"Tell your men to stop shooting, I don't want to be accidentally hit!" Spider-Gwen said, then walked towards the Lizard Man. She deliberately minimized contact with her father, George, lest he find a flaw.

"Stop shooting!" Chief George immediately gave the order. He decided to observe this battle of non-human powers first.

"Hey! Mr. Lizard-looking fellow, can we talk?" Spider-Gwensaid, "You look like you're sick, and in a very bad way. Do you need my help?"

Gwen judged that the Lizard Man in front of her was also a creature formed by altered human genes, either he had injected a certain serum, or like her, he had been bitten by a radioactive lizard.

Looking at it this way, Gwen felt she was lucky; at least she hadn't turned into a human-spider... She could even imagine the ugly appearance of a human-spider, like the Lizard Man in front of her, whose appearance was a complete mess.

The Lizard Man's response to Spider-Gwen was a flying car. Spider-Gwen did not dodge but easily caught the car and placed it on the road.

She had intended to communicate with this Lizard Man, to see if she could get some useful information, such as the reason for his genetic mutation into a Lizard Man.

"Don't damage other people's beloved cars!" Spider-Gwensaid, "Also, you're very rude!"

The two quickly engaged in a brawl. Spider-Gwen dodged the Lizard Man's attacks with her speed. She found it difficult to inflict damage on the Lizard Man, but if the Lizard Man's sharp claws landed on her, they would leave several wounds.

In this situation, the officers wanted to help but couldn't shoot, otherwise the probability of accidentally hitting Spider-Woman was too high.

"The situation is bad! It seems Spider-Woman is also no match for the Lizard Man," an officer said, bandaging a wounded colleague while watching the battlefield.

"The geographical location is also very bad; it's impossible to set up snipers on the bridge."

"Firepower support will reach the Brooklyn Bridge within three minutes. I hope this Lizard Man can withstand tactical grenades and man-portable missiles!"

The officers discussed animatedly, placing most of their attention on the battle between Spider-Woman and the Lizard Man, completely unaware that an extra person had joined the queue for rescuing the injured.

"He suffered a head impact and briefly fainted; there will likely be sequelae like a concussion," Arthur murmured to himself.

The unconscious officer had just opened his eyes when he saw a demon mask. Seeing the demon's face up close instantly scared him back into unconsciousness.

Arthur, in a Police uniform, then ran to bandage another officer's head. His movements were extremely skilled.

"Hand me the gauze, Director!" Arthur nudged Chief George, who was observing the battlefield beside him, "That's right, it's in that first aid kit."

Chief George took the gauze from the first aid kit and handed it to Arthur, then focused intently back on the battlefield. Suddenly, he froze... Chief George slowly turned around, and the scene he saw next filled his face with horror!

The demon in the Police uniform was bandaging his injured subordinate's head, and he was even humming a pop song, shaking his head. It seemed the demon was in a very good mood tonight...

Chapter 18 Are Spider-Woman and the devil in cahoots?

"Hands up!" Chief George instantly drew his pistol.

Arthur immediately raised his hands above his head, and the bandage roll fell to the ground.

The injured Police officer turned around in confusion, and when he saw that his colleague behind him was wearing a demon mask, he fell to the ground in fright. Damn it! It was a demon who had just helped him bandage!

Arthur shrugged helplessly, looking at the fallen Policeofficer, indicating to George that he hadn't done anything.

"Don't move, or I'll shoot!" Chief George sternly reprimanded, "Mike! Get the handcuffs and shackle him!"

Police officer Mike calmly took out the handcuffs and jogged forward, "Today is truly a good day, Spider-Womanand the demon are gathered together, and we can even capture a Lizard Man!"

Mike cuffed one end to the iron railing of the bridge; he was about to take Arthur's raised hands.

"Don't try to resist, Mr. Demon, no one can escape the justice of the New York Police!"

"You're going to shackle me to the bridge?"

"Of course!"

Mike firmly grasped Arthur's wrist, and after he finished speaking, he used his other hand to snap the handcuffs shut, when suddenly, his eyes flashed.

The handcuffs tightened, but it was Police officer Mike's own hand that was cuffed!

"What did you do? You bastard!" Mike roared.

Chief George decisively fired. Although the demon and Mike's figures overlapped, his marksmanship was excellent, and he practiced at the Police station's shooting range every week.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" George emptied the magazine in an instant. These bullets should have hit the demon, but there was only air there now!

The demon vanished into thin air, and he inexplicably felt a chill down his spine… "Woohoo! I am Spider-Man!"

All the Police officers looked towards the source of the sound. A figure in a red and blue bodysuit was swinging on the web left by Spider-Woman, like playing on a swing.

"It's the demon!" Just as the Police officers were wondering when a second Spider-Man had appeared in New York, a Police officer shouted loudly.

He saw the face of the figure in the red and blue bodysuit; that face was not wearing a spider hood, but a terrifying demon mask.

"Fire!" Chief George ordered, and he was the first to raise his Colt Lawman revolver and shoot.

The Police's firepower was fierce; the dense barrage of bullets could even repel the Lizard Man, but this attack had no effect on the demon.

Because his speed was too fast! Too fast for the Policeofficers to aim.

So after the Police completed three volleys, the demon, now in a red and blue bodysuit, was still swinging on the web.

"Gentlemen of the Police, please put down your guns, it's my turn!"

Arthur used the Dragon Talisman to melt the connection point between the web and the bridge's steel cables, turning the tough web into a long, thin rope.

Arthur used the web to tie up the Police officers one by one. His speed and strength were something ordinary Police officers could not contend with, and Chief Georgewas no exception.

Arthur took less than five seconds to tie up more than twenty Police officers into a single bundle, instantly incapacitating them.

"Shit! You bastard, let us go! Unless you want your head blown off!" A Police officer, still not recognizing reality, roared angrily.

Arthur threw a punch, and the Police officer's teeth shattered in a cry of pain, blood oozing from the corner of his mouth.

Arthur shook his fist, and the Horse Talisman quickly healed the small external injury on his finger.

He stood tall, the spider emblem on the chest of his red and blue uniform strikingly lifelike.

"Do you know who I am?" Arthur turned to ask the terrified Police officers, "I am Demon Spider!"

"You are a criminal!" Even though Chief George was in a very sorry state, his sense of justice did not diminish. "One day I will personally arrest you!"

"Shut up, Mr. Director, unless you want to personally watch your subordinates be thrown off the bridge one by one!" Arthur threatened with a smile.

Chief George immediately fell silent, only able to glare at Arthur.

[Detected George Stacy's anger, villain points +50, +50, +50...]

"Alright, Spider-Woman told me to keep an eye on you all so you wouldn't bother her. Now my mission is complete," Arthur seemed to be muttering to himself.

"Are you and Spider-Woman working together?" Chief George couldn't help but ask, his eyes full of suspicion.

"Of course, all the bad things I do are at her instigation!" Arthur said earnestly.

Chief George fell silent; of course, he wouldn't believe the demon's one-sided statement.

Although Spider-Woman was also an unstable criminal, she had never actively caused destruction or threatened citizens' lives.

The demon, however, was different. The demon had not only repeatedly damaged public property but had also caused multiple deaths. Although those who died were criminals, the evil deeds committed by those criminals, according to the law, did not warrant death, and only the court could judge them.

Compared to the Lizard Man who caused destruction on Brooklyn Bridge tonight, and certainly far more than Spider-Woman, the demon's level of danger and importance in the eyes of the Police was much greater.

In fact, Spider-Gwen had been constantly observing the demon and the Police's "game." She noticed it as soon as the demon started clashing with her father, George, but she was entangled with the Lizard Man and couldn't get away.

Now that the Police had been easily dealt with by the demon, Spider-Gwen's head ached watching this scene. She couldn't even handle one Lizard Man, let alone adding the demon who appeared midway!

Fortunately, the demon and the Lizard Man were not working together; Spider-Gwen was certain of this. A freak like the demon was definitely a lone wolf.

Spider-Gwen was distracted, paying attention to the demon on one side, when the Lizard Man seized an opening. He attacked with a tail sweep, the tip of his tail cutting through the air, producing a piercing shriek.

Spider-Gwen reacted by grabbing the Lizard Man's tail with both hands. She tried to forcefully throw him off, but the Lizard Man directly broke off his tail and swung his sharp claws back around.

Spider-Gwen dodged nimbly.

"How disgusting." Spider-Gwen shook off the still-moving lizard tail and retreated to the side.

A new tail quickly grew from the Lizard Man's severed tail. This powerful self-healing ability gave Spider-Gwen a huge headache. It was clear that she couldn't deal with the Lizard Man in front of her with her strength alone.

"Good evening, Miss Spider."

Gwen felt terrible as soon as she heard that voice. She shot a web to cover the Lizard Man's eyes and sent him flying again with a flying kick.

"Well, you don't look good at all. Need help?" Arthur said, approaching.

Gwen gritted her teeth in hatred when she saw the demon. She would never forget the prank on the high-rise rooftop when the demon took off her spider hood.

"Can you take care of this lizard?"

"Of course I can, we're a team, fighting side by side is only natural," Arthur said, patting his chest.

"We? A team?" Gwen clearly disagreed with that statement. "Well, that's not important, the big lizard is coming again!"

The Lizard Man ran towards the two of them, standing on two legs!
