Chapter 83: I Think You Should Jump
"Damn it! The Police are chasing us from downstairs."
Robber A fired a few shots down the stairs, then took his accomplice and ran to the roof.
He looked around and didn't find any escape route; apart from jumping to the next building, the only option was to kill the pursuers.
"Quick! Jump over!"
Robber A had some experience and knew that with the guns they both had, it was impossible to kill everyone behind them.
Besides, as long as the Police weren't stupid, they would block the stairwell and wait for reinforcements to arrive, sealing their fate.
Therefore, the only way out was to jump to the opposite building before they could seal off the area, then disguise themselves and leave.
Robber B estimated the distance to the opposite building, swallowed hard, and shook his head repeatedly, saying: "This distance, it's impossible to jump across, it's too far!"
The distance between the two buildings wasn't exactly short, but it wasn't too far either. Furthermore, the building they were on was higher, creating a drop between it and the opposite side. If they had good jumping ability, there was hope they could make it.
Robber A snorted coldly, took the bag containing the gems, swung it hard, and successfully threw it onto the opposite rooftop.
His eyes changed; he immediately fired a shot at his accomplice's leg and then kicked the gun out of his hand.
The shot robber's eyes turned fearful, and he quickly rolled backward, looking for cover. But Robber A didn't want to kill him; letting an injured criminal slow down the Police was his final contribution.
Taking a deep breath, with a perfect running start and jump, he was confident he could make it to the other side!
Mansions, swimming pools, supermodels... In a daze, he seemed to see a beautiful life beckoning to him.
Wait... no, he really did see a hand! A large hand grabbed his hair and threw him back.
Confused, Robber A was stunned. Before he could see the situation clearly, he started cursing and picked up something nearby to throw at the person.
His mentality collapsed; his beautiful life had been forcibly blocked by that hand, and especially after seeing who was in front of him, he lost all hope.
"Heh, I'm just a robber, was it really necessary to send Homelander to catch me?"
Robber A lay on the ground, his face ashen, no longer intending to resist. Soon, he felt himself being lifted up; that building appeared in front of him again, with nothing but empty air beneath his feet.
He screamed in terror, constantly looking back at Homelander: "Let me go! You're Homelander, how can you kill me!"
Sean Brooke wore his most benevolent smile, placed him by the railing, and said calmly: "Didn't you want to jump across? Go ahead."
"No! No, I'm not jumping anymore, I want to go to jail, let me go!"
Robber A scrambled with his hands and feet, trying to crawl inward; he just wanted to get away from the railing and Homelander.
"Ah!!!"
His foot was stepped on by Sean Brooke, and he let out a painful scream. The smile on Sean Brooke's face disappeared; he realized other Police were about to arrive, so it was time to stop playing.
"I think you should jump!"
However, since he wasn't willing, Sean Brooke didn't mind giving him a hand. He lifted the criminal with the Ten Rings and threw him toward the opposite building.
Robber A saw his bag right in front of him, very close, as if he could reach out and grab it, but unfortunately, his arms seemed to be a meter or two too short.
Hearing a splat, Sean Brooke looked down and clicked his tongue, "How disgusting."
He turned to go downstairs to explain the situation to the others, but noticed another one nearby, so he casually picked up the robber's gun and killed him too.
As for the body camera on his head, it had "accidentally" fallen off when he collided with a passerby earlier.
Someone fell from the building, and Police cars soon appeared below. They were deploying tactics, preparing to storm the roof together. Before they could even start, Sean Brooke walked down.
"Homelander!" The Police on the scene shouted in surprise.
A middle-aged Officer stepped forward, tipped his hat, and greeted Sean Brooke.
Sean Brooke did the same and said: "Both robbers are here. One was killed by his accomplice, and the other, after killing his accomplice, tried to jump to the opposite building and fell. As for the things they robbed, they are all in the building opposite."
The middle-aged Officer breathed a sigh of relief; he didn't care about the robbers' Deaths. As long as the items were recovered and they had no casualties, it was the best outcome.
He sent a team to look for the gems and looked at Sean Brooke, thanking him again: "Thank you for your help, Homelander."
Sean Brooke smiled and patted his shoulder, "You are the real heroes. You must have put in a lot of effort to catch them."
The middle-aged Officer smiled. Indeed, Homelander was just like in the news, very considerate of them and never forgot others' contributions.
"Yes, we've been tracking this criminal gang of over a dozen people for a long time, and we finally caught them all this time."
"Then you must make the higher-ups give you a raise, otherwise it would be unfair to your efforts," Sean Brooke said.
Promotions and pay raises—except for those who don't care about money, no one hates these words, and this group of Police was no exception.
When the others heard this, their attitude toward Sean Brooke became even friendlier, and they quickly told him he could leave, saying they would handle the aftermath.
Sean Brooke saw Gwen arrive, exchanged a few pleasantries with them, and left.
Back in the car, Gwen helped him put on his body camera and smiled: "If I lost my camera, not only would I get a demerit, but I'd also get scolded when I got back."
Sean Brooke pulled her over from the driver's seat, scaring Gwen into quickly turning off the camera.
"What... what are you doing? We still have to go on patrol later."
"It's noon, I want to rest for a bit."
Gwen didn't refuse, or rather, she had been waiting for these words. Otherwise, she wouldn't have specifically parked the car in such a deserted corner, rolled up the windows, and started rocking.
Actually, after Gwen discovered she had won the prize, she realized Sean Brooke had helped her pull strings. Otherwise, with tens of millions of people, she didn't believe she would have won.
That night, she had planned many itineraries, wanting to have a good day out with Sean Brooke.
She originally thought that by changing her Facebook account, her dad wouldn't find out, but she didn't expect Sean Brooke to be so bold, announcing the itinerary directly on Facebook.
Especially after the first prize winner said she wanted Sean Brooke to experience a day at the hospital with her, George came looking for her.
Without her consent, he made her do the same as that Doctor, having Sean Brooke experience being a Police Officer for a day, which ruined all her plans.
If it weren't for that, she should be happily dating Sean Brooke at an amusement park right now, not rocking in a car.
Of course, she didn't hate rocking in the car, but it was still lacking a bit of atmosphere. Because the radio kept ringing, just like before, with endless tasks.
Gwen took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down so she wouldn't pant too heavily.
"Someone called the Police on Arthur Avenue. You guys are the closest, go take a look."
"Copy that, Officer!"
Hanging up the radio, she lay in Sean Brooke's arms and said helplessly: "We have to go."
Sean Brooke released her, letting Gwen go find her clothes.
There were still too few Superheroes in New York; didn't they know that the Police were also very busy?
Chapter 84: Your clothes are all the same, so I didn't recall it for a moment.
The long day finally ended. Gwen excitedly clocked out, changed into her own clothes, ignored her colleagues' gazes, and dragged Sean away.
She even explicitly notified George, saying she wouldn't be returning home tonight, and that he had no choice but to agree!
Although George had a decent impression of Sean, he still hesitated for a moment before finally tacitly agreeing.
Bringing the disguised Sean, she arrived at the restaurant she had reserved. It was the highest-rated couple's restaurant nearby, and she had wanted to come here for a long time.
With dim lighting and beautiful piano music, Gwen rested her face on her hands and stared straight at Sean. This was the day she had been looking forward to.
No cases, no criminals, no missions—just her and Sean.
"You two, we have a promotion at our restaurant today. If you leave a photo of a light kiss, you can get a 20% discount. If you are willing, I can take the liberty of giving you a 50% discount."
The restaurant manager was a woman, and looking at Sean's face, she even wanted to give it to him for free.
"Really? That's great!"
Gwen stood up directly and leaned her face in.
She didn't care about any discount; she just wanted to deepen the precious memories between the two of them.
Sean cupped her face with his hand and kissed her.
The manager on the side was stunned for a long while before picking up the camera and snapping away.
Normally, taking photos was a job for the waiters, but since she saw Sean, she used her position to claim this privilege.
"O-okay, I wish you both a pleasant meal."
The manager walked away quickly and handed the camera to a waiter. "Get the photos developed, then crop out the woman. Bring the man's photos to me. Twelve in total, don't miss any."
After the manager left, the two did not separate; instead, there was a trend toward further development.
It seemed the interruption at noon had made Gwen very uncomfortable too.
So, after finishing the meal, Sean took her flying over the city and arrived at the small alley where they first met.
Tonight's moonlight was just as beautiful as it was that night.
Shining on Gwen, it was as if she were draped in a silver-white wedding dress, making Sean unable to keep his hands off her.
Gwen was a bit anxious tonight, or rather, she was more proactive than usual, as if to make up for the time lost during the day.
Even until she ran out of strength, she still pulled on Sean's neck, telling him to continue.
Sean didn't continue. He put the Nano Suit on her to prevent her from catching a cold, then flew with her in his arms toward home.
Looking at the familiar neighborhood below, Gwen knew this was the direction of her home. She tugged on Sean, trying to get him to go somewhere else.
Through the Nano Suit, Sean gave her bottom a firm pat, which finally made her quiet down.
He opened the window and slipped in gently.
After locking the door, Sean placed Gwen on the bed and looked at her with a serious expression.
"We have plenty of time in the future. Why are you in such a rush tonight?"
Gwen's performance just now left him a bit dissatisfied. It wasn't that it was uncomfortable, but her expression seemed as if she were in pain.
Although Sean was a bit of a scumbag, he wouldn't just care about his own pleasure; he still cared for them deeply.
"Time goes by too fast, and I'm a bit anxious."
Gwen knew that Sean was worried about her, and she also understood that she hadn't performed well just now, wasting the pleasant time tonight.
Now that she was in a familiar environment, even though there were people at home, she should be able to perform better.
"Let's continue, round three."
Gwen tried to tear open the Nano Suit on her body, but after feeling around for a long time without finding an opening, she could only look at Sean with her charming eyes.
"Hmph, that's enough for tonight. If you do that again, I'll cover your face too."
Feeling the Nano Suit crawling up toward her face, Gwen quickly shut her mouth and looked at him with a wronged expression.
Sean sighed, hugged her, and comforted her: "Rest now. Tomorrow, I'll still be here."
He knew she was pushing herself; she had been trembling violently just now, so how could she have any strength left?
Sean didn't retract the Nano Suit. She wasn't wearing any clothes underneath, and if he retracted it, he was afraid he wouldn't be able to control himself.
He suddenly thought, should the Nano Suit have a cleaning function added? Had he been making them wear it too often lately?
Seeing that he really didn't intend to continue, Gwen felt a warmth in her heart. Mainly, the previous frantic actions had made certain parts of her body start to ache.
Resting for a bit was good. She had to hold him tightly and continue tomorrow morning; don't let him... run away.
The next morning, Gwen, with her precise biological clock, woke up quickly.
She glanced at the time, knowing that her family should be downstairs eating breakfast at this hour, and perhaps they didn't know she had returned yet.
She looked at the sleeping Sean and smiled happily; he really hadn't left.
But she suddenly discovered a problem: the suit on her body hadn't disappeared, which annoyed her a bit. Fortunately, it didn't cover her face.
Gwen slowly crawled under the covers, continuing the work she hadn't finished last night.
...
On the way flying to his home, Sean looked at his watch and was already planning a trip to Wakanda.
The Nano Suit's impact-resistance function was very useful, so Sean often had them wear it.
In that case, the transformation function of this suit was a bit monotonous.
At first, he only thought about how cool it looked on himself, never expecting the suit could be used this way. It seemed necessary to add a female clothing function.
Otherwise, every time they wore the same ripped tight suit, Sean didn't dare to call out their names for fear of getting them wrong.
Returning home, he found another woman, seemingly brought over by Natasha. He didn't know what bad ideas she had this time.
"Sean, let me introduce you to Sharon Carter."
On the side, Sif stared straight at Sharon without speaking, because she had lost in a duel.
Over the past few days, she had fought Natasha a few times and discovered that without using weapons, she was completely no match for her, which left her very dejected.
She didn't expect that whether it was combat techniques or love techniques, she couldn't compare to her.
Now, Natasha brought another woman. As the loser, she had even less right to speak.
Sharon had a round face and flowing long blonde hair, looking very approachable.
"Hello." Sean reached out to greet her normally.
But Sharon had a very strange expression, squinting her eyes, with the corners of her mouth wanting to smile but not daring to.
"Do you really not remember me? Should I call you Sean, or Andrew?"
Hearing his alias, Sean fell into deep thought, starting to recall the time he went on a school trip to Los Angeles that year.
Because he had only used this code name in Los Angeles, there shouldn't be many people who knew it... probably.
Natasha looked pleased; it seemed today would go much more smoothly.
"You two probably have things to talk about. Go upstairs; we'll go in later."
Once upstairs and the door was closed, Sean still hadn't remembered who she was.
Seeing this, Sharon knew he had definitely forgotten her.
Actually, when she came today, she had looked at all of Sean's files. When she saw the photo, she felt it looked very familiar, and after thinking carefully, she was stunned.
A few years ago, when she was on a mission in Los Angeles, the man—no, the boy—she met was him.
"Los Angeles, Continental Hotel, waiter. Remember now?"
Sean was still frowning, looking at her while still thinking.
"Third-floor restroom. How about now?"
Sean suddenly realized, clapped his hands, and said with a smile: "I remember now. Ahem, your clothes are all the same, so I didn't recall it for a moment."
"Uh-huh, is that also your reason for calling out the wrong name in the bathroom?"
Chapter 85: Eating Cake
Sharon ignored Sean's expression, and with a sense of resentment, buried her head in executing today's mission; she was determined to make him pay!
It wasn't until she began to act that Sean truly recalled what she looked like.
After all, encountering a female Agent at that age left a rather deep impression.
Back then, Sean felt that she was different from other waitresses; neither her physical strength nor her physique resembled that of an ordinary person, which was why the impression was so deep.
As for Sharon, her impression of Sean was particularly deep. That day, she even briefly set aside her mission to go and find him again.
Who would have thought that this man would actually call out the wrong name at such a moment!
She had originally intended to deal with him after finishing her mission.
But unexpectedly, by the time she finished her mission, he had vanished.
After hurriedly investigating, she discovered that he was a student traveling, and among that group of people, there wasn't even anyone named Andrew.
Coupled with the fact that he had called out the wrong name, it made her even angrier.
But due to follow-up missions, there was no choice; she couldn't exactly tell her superiors that she had been emotionally deceived by a brat.
Fortunately, after receiving this mission, Sharon felt a sense of familiarity when she saw the photo in the file; after all, such a handsome man was not common, and even the Captain fell short compared to him.
Upon carefully reviewing his background and the list of aliases specifically noted, she was overjoyed to see the name Andrew among them.
She hadn't expected that after several years, she would still be able to settle the score regarding that name.
But once Sharon actually engaged in battle, she discovered that the little boy who used to be at her mercy had grown up.
Moreover, his desire for revenge was even stronger than her own.
He showed no regard for their past connection, and his actions were truly ruthless.
Fortunately, Natasha and Sif downstairs arrived quickly; otherwise, she would have been on the verge of begging for mercy.
Natasha had Sif replace Sharon while she waited on the side.
After a long wait, until the two of them had lost their combat ability, Natasha finally drove them out, showing no concern for their trembling bodies.
Seeing this, Sean knew that she must have something else to ask of him; otherwise, why would she have taken the initiative to bring Sharon over?
"Speak. What is it you're asking of me this time?"
Natasha smiled seductively without saying a word, taking the initiative to begin the cleaning work.
She knew that now was not the best time to speak; she needed to let Sean see her sincerity, so that it would be easier to discuss the next matters.
Seeing that she didn't intend to speak for the moment, Sean wasn't in a hurry; he wanted to see what other tricks she had up her sleeve.
He took a moment to check his phone and found several messages.
One was from Nora, asking if he had time tonight, as it was Inisa's birthday, and she really wanted him to come over.
Checking the time, he felt he could make it, so Sean agreed.
One was from Lisha, who didn't say anything, but just sent her beautiful photos as usual.
Recalling what Hess had said about him needing to find time to visit the place where Lisha worked.
He wondered if she had some other mischievous idea; he would check if he had time tomorrow, but he would certainly have to go.
The last one was from Tony, essentially saying that Ivan had been caught for a few days but hadn't been sentenced yet, asking if he had any thoughts on the matter.
Seeing the name Ivan, Sean's previously good mood instantly dampened significantly.
He let Natasha's throat serve a purpose, helping him calm down a bit.
He sent messages to both Fury and Tony, telling them to find an excuse to arrange for Ivan to go to Afghanistan to deal with the Ten Rings, so that the outside world shouldn't have too much of a reaction.
Ordinary people didn't know about Ivan summoning the Iron Armor to try and kill Tony; they thought it was some kind of Iron Armor exercise and were quite excited about it.
Let him live for a few more days at the border and put his remaining value to use; once he finished handling the matters at hand, Ivan could go and reunite with his father.
On this side, Natasha felt the preparation work was just about done, so she began to sway slowly, controlling her pace, and started talking to Sean about the Avengers.
...
"Mommy, will Homelander come?"
"He should... come, yes."
Nora was also a bit uncertain. Although he had replied that he would come, he had to fulfill the lucky draw on Facebook recently, and she was afraid he was very busy.
Because today was Inisa's birthday, she wanted to invite Sean to attend.
Seeing her daughter's unhappy expression lately, Nora felt very heartbroken.
She also noticed that her father had never appeared, not even a phone call, which made her feel very down.
She had been forced to lie to her, telling her that her father was actually an Agent who had to carry out secret missions and couldn't make phone calls, and also told her that Homelander knew about this, so she could ask him when he arrived later.
Although she didn't know how long this lie would last, it would be enough if it could make her happy for a little longer.
Sean didn't keep them waiting too long; after finishing with Natasha, he flew over, having prepared a small gift on the way.
"Inisa, happy birthday. This is a gift for you."
Inisa, who had been unhappy just a moment ago, immediately turned her sorrow into joy, jumped directly into Sean's arms, and shouted happily.
"Mommy, Mommy, take a photo of me. I want to show my classmates; they don't believe I know Homelander."
"Ah..."
Nora looked troubled. Of course, she knew that this matter shouldn't be known by outsiders, and she prepared to find an excuse to refuse.
But Sean gave her a reassuring look, picked up Inisa, and sat on the sofa.
"Alright, let's take a photo together, the three of us, in front of the cake."
Nora was somewhat moved. Setting the timer, she sat down beside them, but kept a slight distance so that even if outsiders saw it, he would have an easier time explaining.
"Closer."
Sean hooked his left hand and pulled her directly over, gently hugging her from an angle the camera couldn't capture.
This bold action made Nora blush quite a bit.
Click, the photo was taken.
She rushed forward to check the photo. If their behavior in it was too intimate, she would retake it; she couldn't make things difficult for Sean.
In the photo, her face was very red because there was a large hand behind her.
However, her daughter and Sean both looked perfect in the photo; they really looked like a happy family.
She showed it to Sean and asked if they should retake it.
"No need, let's use this one; it turned out well. Let's go eat some cake."
"Cake time!"
Inisa was very happy. No one at school believed she knew Homelander and even called her a liar, which had made her very sad.
Now it was fine; when she brought the photo tomorrow, let's see who would dare to question her.
As for the photo, Sean didn't care; even if it were reported by the media outside, it wouldn't matter.
Consoling families in disaster and accompanying a little girl for her birthday were all great things; what was there to be afraid of?
After eating the cake, Sean played games with Inisa for a while longer until she gradually became sleepy.
After all, she was a child and went to sleep early.
He carried her into the bedroom to rest, then quietly retreated, seeing Nora cleaning the dining table.
It was a birthday cake, after all; the more it was wasted, the happier she was.
Therefore, there were traces of cake all around the dining table, and it was probably quite a chore to clean up.
Seeing Nora preparing to put away the remaining cake, Sean stepped forward and stopped her.
"Ahem, the child is asleep. How about we continue eating?"
Nora swallowed hard. She wasn't a child; naturally, she understood what this "eating" meant.
"I... I should go take a shower, otherwise..."
"No need. Eat first, then wash!"
This cake was strawberry-flavored, which Inisa liked, but Sean quite enjoyed this milky scent.
Chapter 86: She was going to make Sean know the viciousness of the human heart right now!
At Kennedy International Airport, Sean picked up his last fan. After today, this fan benefit event would be over.
Although his follower count had already exceeded forty million, he wasn't in any rush. He would just leave it as is and do it again when there was another opportunity.
"You both look really beautiful today."
"Thank you."
Sean glanced at Daisy in the passenger seat and continued, "When the lucky draw ended, I realized that account was yours. It really is quite a coincidence."
Daisy nervously twisted the hem of her skirt, chiming in with a guilty conscience.
"Ah, it really is a coincidence. I... I also have pretty good luck."
She looked at Jane with a pleading gaze; if she didn't stop talking, her cover would be blown.
Jane also felt a little guilty because they had used underhanded methods to get this opportunity. If they were discovered, she wouldn't care, but Daisy would be in trouble.
"Sean, you should just go out with Daisy today. She's the one who won the prize. Just drop me off at that female warrior's home."
"Is there something you need to find Sif for?"
"It's nothing much, just asking her about Thor's situation."
Jane didn't hide anything and spoke about her worry for Thor. After all, he had been gone for so long without a single word of news, making it truly difficult not to worry.
"Sure, I'll have someone take you there."
"Thank you, sorry for the trouble."
After letting Jane out of the car and arranging for Natasha to come pick her up, only the two of them were left in the car.
"Ahem, have you thought about what you want to do today?" Sean asked.
"I... I have! Let me see."
Daisy found her bag and took out a small notebook filled with writing, starting to search for something. She had prepared thoroughly for today.
Seeing a few lines of very small text, a flash of hesitation crossed her face.
"Spend a day at a hotel with Sean!"
"Spend a day at a themed hotel with Sean!"
"Spend a day at a couple's themed hotel with Sean!"
Although this request was quite excessive, Sean had said on Facebook that he would spend the day doing whatever they wanted, playing whatever they pleased.
Daisy's heart beat very fast. She secretly glanced at Sean and realized he was still too innocent, actually saying he would play whatever.
It's a good thing he met her; otherwise, he would have discovered how wild the netizens really were!
Of course, she was very tempted by these suggestions. Just thinking about being able to spend a day at a hotel with Sean made her so excited she couldn't sleep.
However, in the end, she abandoned this decision.
Once she thought about Sean showing a very disappointed expression after she made this suggestion, she felt like her life would turn gray and bleak.
The two people before her had both asked him to be a Doctor or Police officer to experience life.
When it was her turn, making him experience the viciousness of the world seemed too excessive.
"Let's go to the amusement park!"
"Okay, it's up to you."
Arriving at the largest amusement park near New York, Daisy pulled Sean over to take a photo and then posted it on Facebook to prove her innocence.
See that? I didn't drag Sean to a hotel, hmph!
The two of them played happily all day just like ordinary people.
Being able to sneak glances at his face from time to time and hold his hand, Daisy was completely satisfied.
At noon, they ate at the restaurant inside the amusement park. It wasn't until they were preparing to leave in the evening that she dragged Sean to ride the Ferris wheel one last time.
"What a beautiful night view!"
Daisy looked at the lights outside the window and exclaimed.
Looking at the sky again, the smile on her face slowly faded.
Seeing that today was about to pass and that there would never be such a good opportunity in the future, she felt a wave of loss... and regret.
"The view here is just average; I'll take you to see a better one."
Sean opened the door, reached out to wrap his arm around her, and flew toward the sky.
"Ah!"
After Daisy let out a cry of surprise, her mind went blank. She didn't know how it happened, but she was already in Sean's arms.
Feeling the warmth he radiated, along with his charming scent, she felt flustered.
He brought her to the tallest building in New York. Looking at the scenery below, Sean asked:
"How about it? This should look better, right?"
"It's beautiful!"
Daisy didn't look at anything and didn't think about anything; she just closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling.
"Then where do you want to go next?"
"To a hotel."
"Hmm?"
Daisy snapped her eyes open. How did she let that slip out? This intoxicating scent made her unable to lie.
"I... I meant that it's time to go back to the hotel to rest."
"Okay, I'll take you back."
After saying that, Sean flew toward the hotel owned by Hess. She had cleared out the top floor to make it convenient for him to handle his affairs.
Just a moment ago, Daisy was praising herself in her heart for being witty, having come up with an excuse so quickly.
But once she thought about how the day would be completely over once they returned, she wanted to slap herself across the face.
There were still many hours left until midnight, and she had wasted them just like that.
"Here it is. This hotel is owned by a friend of mine, no need to register."
Sean set her down on the floor and then went to turn on all the lights.
Watching Sean's actions, it was clear he intended to leave as soon as he turned on the lights. Daisyinstantly became a bit anxious.
She hurriedly picked up the remote, turned on the TV, and said, "Sean, keep me company and watch some TV."
"Of course. Today's time is yours to arrange."
Daisy once again marveled at her own wit. She glanced at the time—there were still over five hours left. Fantastic!
Sitting on the sofa, Daisy leaned against Sean, feeling a bit drowsy. She didn't know when it happened, but she had become addicted to the warm feeling of being by his side.
Just like how she loved huddling by a Fire during a cold winter, she couldn't extricate herself from it for a long time.
"Ahem!"
Sean coughed, and Daisy quickly woke up.
"What's wrong?"
She was still dazed and didn't know what had happened, but as soon as she looked at the time, her sleepiness vanished instantly.
How is that possible? Wasn't there still over five hours just a moment ago? How is there only five minutes left!
Looking at the clock, her expression was incredibly dejected; she even wanted to cry.
"Go to the room to sleep. It's easy to catch a cold out here."
Sean bent down to pick her up, walked to the bed, and even tucked her in.
Daisy grabbed Sean's hand as he was about to leave, looking at him with reluctance.
She steeled her heart—who cares what he thinks of her? She was going to make Sean know the viciousness of the human heart right now!
"There are three minutes left, kiss me! Hurry!"
Sean blinked, not quite sure what was happening, thinking the day had been a wash.
Seeing he didn't move, Daisy became even more anxious. Time waits for no one!
She sat up directly, wrapped her arms around Sean's neck, and leaned in to kiss him.
The sudden sensation made her want to slap herself. What was she thinking about all day? It would have been better if she had done this earlier!
Daisy kept her eyes wide open, watching the time. As soon as it hit exactly midnight, she let go of Sean, being very punctual.
Afterward, acting like a heartless woman, she tidied up her hair and said happily:
"OK, you can go now. I'm very happy today. I'll look for you again if there's a chance next time."
After saying this, she covered herself with the blanket, not letting Sean see her blushing face and racing heart.
After waiting for a while, Daisy heard the sound of the lights turning off, and tears instantly welled up.
She had held back all day; how did she lose control at the very last moment?
Would she never be able to face him again? Would she never have the chance to talk to him again? Would she...
"I was also very happy today, but I don't want to wait until next time to look for you."
Feeling the familiar warmth coming from beside her, Daisy could no longer resist and was gradually melted by this warmth.
Chapter 87: Lisha knew that Sean Brooke certainly didn't like uniforms.
"Daisy, where are you? We have a flight back this afternoon, you remember, right?"
"Oh, right, um, I... remember."
"Is Sean Brooke still with you?"
"No... he's not, I can't see him."
Jane sighed, "Alright, as long as you remember the flight time."
After hanging up the phone, Jane left by car with a worried look on her face; she needed to go out and clear her head.
When she was sent over yesterday, she had already told Sif about Thor.
Upon hearing about it, Sif didn't refuse. She was also feeling a bit homesick; going back to take a look would be good, and she could bring some teammates along to have some sparring matches in the room.
Since she couldn't keep Sean Brooke all to herself anyway, she might as well bring some sisters over; at least they were her own people and would certainly be much gentler than Natasha.
With a smirk, she looked at Natasha, who was beside her and still knew nothing, already thinking about how to get revenge on her.
"Hmph, once we swap roles, I'll let you know what pain is!"
Her warrior armor manifested, and she walked onto the lawn, looked up at the sky, and shouted loudly:
"Heimdall! Heimdall!"
Sif shouted for a long time, but there was no response at all.
Her expression gradually grew serious, realizing that something might have happened in Asgard; otherwise, Heimdall would definitely have responded to her.
"Sorry, something might be going on in Asgard. I'll try calling again tomorrow."
This was just her way of comforting Jane, but she knew better than anyone that no response meant something must have happened.
"Okay, thank you, Sif."
Seeing her expression, Jane guessed roughly what was going on.
Afterward, the two stayed in the room and talked about some interesting stories from Asgard to ease their mood.
Natasha pretended to drink water on the side, wanting to see the legendary Bifrost Bridge, but she didn't expect that something had actually happened in Asgard. She didn't know if this was good or bad for them.
On the other side, Daisy, who had just finished the call, was indeed not lying; she really couldn't see Sean Brooke in front of her.
She glanced at the time on her phone and realized there were only a few hours left before the flight took off.
Turning back, she gritted her teeth and said:
"Sean Brooke, later, no matter how I beg for mercy, apologize, or cry out, don't stop, okay?"
Daisy cherished this opportunity very much, because it was highly likely that there would never be a next time.
Sean Brooke held her and asked, very confused: "Are you sure?"
Daisy turned around, gave him a reassuring smile, and nodded solemnly.
Since she insisted, Sean Brooke wouldn't refuse.
The Nano Suit on his hand deployed and covered Daisy, but not completely.
"This suit has excellent impact resistance."
"Is that so? Then I have nothing to be afraid of!"
A faint smile hung on Daisy's face; she hadn't expected him to be so gentle, even considering this point.
But soon, the smile on her face slowly disappeared.
"Wait! That place, it seems not..."
Daisy really hadn't expected that Sean Brooke was not only gentle, but also that she would find him truly difficult to handle.
...
At John F. Kennedy International Airport, Jane helped Daisy walk toward their seats and asked helplessly:
"Daisy, what did you eat last night?"
"Sichuan food, no, it was too spicy!"
...
Sean Brooke, still at the hotel, felt a bit unsatisfied; Daisy was one of the more special people he had met.
Although this wasn't his first time encountering an F-cup, she was the prettiest one at that size.
He thought about it and decided to go look for Lisha; her photos yesterday were also very pretty.
On Wall Street, pedestrians on both sides were wearing suits, walking while on the phone, all looking busy.
Sean Brooke stood between two buildings; on the left was where Nora worked, and on the right was Lisha.
The cake that night was delicious; even thinking about it now, Sean Brooke felt it left an endless aftertaste.
If Sean Brooke had to choose now, he would definitely choose Nora.
But, isn't it only children who make choices?
On the sixth floor, Sif Environmental Cleaning Co., Ltd., Lisha worked here as a receptionist.
She checked the time; it was almost time to get off work. She found an angle, took a picture of herself and the time, and sent it to Sean Brooke.
She looked at the photos of him playing at the amusement park with fans, and felt a wave of envy.
Although Sean Brooke often snuck over to her place at night, the two had never walked the streets outside like normal people.
For this lucky draw, she originally wanted Sean Brooke to pull some strings so she could win.
To show her sincerity, she let Sean Brooke "pull a string" first, and then asked if the winning thing would work out.
But Sean Brooke was too upright and didn't agree to this request; otherwise, the person accompanying him on the street yesterday would have been her.
Sighing, Lisha packed her things to get off work. She was no longer afraid of being home alone because Sean Brooke was very likely to come over.
After waving goodbye to her colleagues, she walked to the elevator area, and Sean Brooke happened to come up.
"Am I late?"
Lisha gasped, quickly looked both ways, and upon seeing no one coming, she rushed into Sean Brooke's arms.
"Why did you come?"
Sean Brooke pinched her cheek and said with a smile:
"Ahem, someone sent me a work uniform to tempt me, so I came over to deal with her."
Lisha bit her lip, her face blushing, and whispered in his ear: "Then let's go home to deal with her."
"Why? I think it's quite nice here."
Sean Brooke said, pulling her out of the elevator and heading back into the company.
"Ah..."
Being held by Sean Brooke, she was completely unable to resist and could only follow him inside.
Hearing the voices of her colleagues not far away, Lisha grew anxious.
She would be fine, but if Sean Brooke were seen, wouldn't that have a bad impact on him?
Her brain raced, recalling which quiet corners the company had.
The restroom? No, there are too many people there. The storage room? No, they put things in there after work.
Got it, during off-hours, the printing room must be empty!
Every time she went to print things, she would fantasize about it; she didn't expect it could actually come true.
Next time, she would fantasize about other places.
She grabbed Sean Brooke and walked toward a dark little room.
She quickly closed the door, then pressed against it to listen for any movement from her colleagues outside. After confirming there was no sound, she breathed a sigh of relief.
She turned around and looked at Sean Brooke nervously, then went up and hugged him tightly.
"Why aren't you more careful? What if someone saw us? I don't care about these things, but you are a public figure after all, you have to care about your image."
While scolding Sean Brooke, Lisha straightened his clothes.
But inside, she felt quite pleased; it seemed her charm remained undiminished, able to attract him and make him so impatient.
Since he liked this outfit, she would look for more later, or change up the style, to test what he liked.
However, there was one thing Lisha knew: Sean Brooke certainly did not like uniforms.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have just used his hands to tear it apart.
Chapter 88: Does Homelander Actually Like This Kind of Thing?
In the empty company, the printer in the printing room was running frantically, and a woman's voice could be heard coming from inside, which felt very eerie.
Lisha really didn't want to be like this, but Sean Brooke wanted to see if this advanced color printer was easy to use.
There was no other way, so she had to demonstrate it.
She demonstrated until she had no strength left and the printer ran out of paper, and only then did he stop.
Sean Brooke picked up a printout, showed it to her, and praised, "Lisha, your printer is really good. Look, it printed very clearly."
Lisha tilted her head to look, without even the strength left to blush.
Seeing her like this, Sean Brooke felt a bit of pity, reached out to hold her in his arms, and let her rest for a while.
After a long while, Lisha's panting stopped, and her eyes slowly regained focus.
Looking at the printouts of herself scattered all over the floor, she felt... she could do it again, because it seemed like Sean Brooke really liked this.
Since he liked it, then she liked it too, and besides, maybe it could make him come more often.
She just didn't know if the fact that she only had strips of cloth left on her would affect his mood, and whether she should go find another uniform.
Just as she was thinking about these things, the door opened.
"Ms. Carey, may I ask what you and this person are doing in my company?"
Hearing the familiar voice, Lisha's body trembled. Her first reaction was to block Sean Brooke's face, and only then did she begin to speak.
"General Manager Hess, I... I can explain, please listen to me!"
The person who came was naturally Hess. Her face was as cold as frost, and her expression was very serious, making the temperature in the room drop by several degrees.
"Wait, could this man be Homelander?"
Hearing this, Lisha became even more nervous.
She got off Sean Brooke, blocked him, and defended, "You recognized the wrong person. He is my boyfriend, he just happens to look very handsome."
Hess curled the corner of her mouth, walked around her, saw Sean Brooke, and said in disbelief,
"It really is Homelander!"
"Ms. Carey, I remember you are married. Does Homelander actually like this kind of thing? This is big news."
Lisha beside her was almost crying, still trying hard to explain, saying her husband was already dead, and saying this wasn't Homelander, just someone who looked like him.
Ignoring what she was saying, Hess sat down next to Sean Brooke and put her arms around his neck.
Lisha was shocked and said loudly, "What, what are you doing!"
Hess was still pressed tightly against Sean Brooke, glancing sideways at Lisha, and said indifferently,
"You wouldn't want this matter to be exposed, would you? So..."
From beginning to end, Sean Brooke did not speak. He just quietly watched Hess perform, waiting for the surprise to come.
He had thought this time would be like last time on the road, where she would design something for Lisha to add some atmosphere and make himself happy.
But as things developed, Sean Brooke suddenly discovered a problem.
Was he... being treated as the atmosphere?
Why did it feel like Hess's brown long hair had turned yellow, and Lisha was crying beside her like... a victim?
Then, what was he?
Looking at Sean Brooke's bewildered expression, Lisha felt even more distressed.
She didn't expect that her momentary impulsiveness would bring such big trouble. He must be very painful right now.
Seeing this expression on Sean Brooke, Hess couldn't even keep up the act.
Although she felt very happy, it seemed she hadn't made Sean Brooke happy, which went against her original intention. Forget it, she wouldn't play anymore.
Just as she was about to get down and explain everything, Sean Brooke pressed her down.
"Lisha, don't be sad anymore, I'm fine."
"I'm sorry, Sean Brooke, it's all my fault."
Lisha wiped away her tears, walked over, and looked into Sean Brooke's eyes.
"Don't look at her, just pretend she is me."
"Okay!"
Just like that, Lisha wrapped her arms around Sean Brooke's neck, letting him look at her; perhaps this would make it easier to bear.
The sound of Hess's voice in her ear made Lisha feel very harsh. No matter how she shouted, it sounded like she was showing off.
Sean Brooke naturally wouldn't let Lisha just watch like that, so very smoothly, he added her into the battle.
Instantly, the relationship between the three became complex.
At first, Lisha, carrying the hatred towards Hess, attacked her together with Sean Brooke.
But soon, she didn't know how, but she, like Hess, was attacked by Sean Brooke.
There was no choice; forced by necessity, she could only join forces with Hess to resist Sean Brooke.
Facts proved that the reason why affinity between girls increases quickly is precisely because they don't mind sleeping together.
Just like Liu Huangshu's anecdotes of walking arm-in-arm and sharing a bed, it is a sharp tool for grinding up affinity.
...
Afterwards, he sent the truly exhausted Lisha home, and then told her about the fact that he actually knew Hess.
If he hadn't told her this, she wouldn't have wanted to let him go, looking extremely guilty.
After he said it, although she was somewhat incredulous, she felt more relieved.
Then he went back to find Hess, who still had energy left, and returned to rest with her.
The two returned home, and Hess lay in his arms as usual, talking about recent events.
"Dice is planning to return to the East recently."
"What's wrong?"
Hess said somewhat dejectedly, "She said she has no use here, and she doesn't want to live under my protection like this forever."
"It would be better to go to the East and find that Daluo Heaven; maybe there will be some surprises."
"Also, she asked me to ask you if you like Eastern girls, so she can keep an eye out for a few for you."
Sean Brooke pondered for a moment, "Is Dice actually this sensible?"
"Hmph, of course, you don't even look at who taught her."
"Then hurry up and call her up, I'll have a good talk with her."
Hess was happy in her heart, nodded, and then went downstairs to find Dice.
Looking at her eager appearance, Sean Brooke understood that she was afraid he didn't like Dice and thought he was still angry about that day.
Indeed, that day, that someone and that green thing made him feel very bad, so he threw a little tantrum.
But this annoyance wasn't directed at Dice.
It was more like, thinking today was going to be a Jay Chou concert, having been excited for a long time, only to end up hearing 'Ji Ni Tai Mei' instead—could he not be angry?
Soon, Dice came in, but Hess didn't follow her in, wanting to create a chance for her and Sean Brooke to be alone.
Dice was a little nervous; in her heart, she was still somewhat afraid of Sean Brooke. The impact of that night was huge for her, both mentally and physically.
Tonight, she had changed into the clothes her sister gave her. The top was a white button-down shirt, with only the middle two buttons fastened, which made it convenient for doing anything.
Sean Brooke patted the quilt beside him, signaling for her to come over quickly.
Dice didn't lie on his chest like her sister; instead, she consciously moved down a little, letting the shirt do its work.
"I heard you are going back to the East?"
"Mm."
"That's good. Go find that Daluo Heaven. After you find it, tell me, and I'll go catch that so-called divine dragon and see if it's of any use to you."
"Mm!"
"In case you encounter any trouble, don't carry it alone. You have me."
"Cough, mm~" Dice felt a warmth in her heart.
It looked like they had truly found a good place to belong.
Of course, it would be even more perfect if Sean Brooke hadn't taken out many photos of Eastern girls to show her later.
Chapter 89: I Am God!
For some time after that, Sean Brooke often went to Hess's company.
Since there wasn't much happening recently, he might as well focus on improving his strength and increasing his Affection Points to prepare for future events.
Although only Hess and Lisha in the company could increase his Affection Points, Sean Brooke did not neglect Nora... or the others in the company.
At first, Lisha was somewhat resistant, feeling as though her beloved possession had been tarnished, and she felt quite depressed.
But under Sean Brooke's deliberate guidance, she was forced to take the initiative to pull others into the fray to gain some breathing room.
Over time, she got used to it. Anyway, Sean Brooke only ever whispered that he loved her, and she had never heard him say that to the other women.
Moreover, the others didn't know Sean Brooke's true identity; only she and Hess knew. So, as long as she could best Hess, she would be the woman Sean Brooke loved the most.
Thinking of this, Lisha would secretly compete with Hess, always striving not to be the last one to leave the field.
To this end, she even roped in a woman who seemed quite innocent: Nora.
A woman with a child definitely wouldn't compete with her for Sean Brooke.
Whenever she thought of this decision, Lisha couldn't help but congratulate herself.
"I have no regrets as my clothes grow loose; for you, I have withered away."
Sean Brooke only remembered his real business because Christine said something.
"Sean, why does your suit feel... sticky?"
Hearing her say this, Sean Brooke remembered that he was supposed to take a trip to Wakanda.
Since he had remembered, Sean Brooke didn't delay and set off immediately.
Then, on the way to Wakanda, he remembered that he should send Ivan to see his father. Christmas was coming up soon, so letting them reunite wouldn't be a bad idea.
It could be considered his final act of kindness.
In Shuri's laboratory in Wakanda.
She released Sean Brooke's Nano Suit and, upon seeing the marks on it, understood instantly.
Her suit had seemingly become some kind of safety tool, even though its original purpose was protection.
But this wasn't how it was supposed to be used!
Sean Brooke didn't mind her resentful gaze at all and continued to make his requests.
"You've seen it yourself; adding a cleaning function to the suit is very necessary, otherwise I'll have to come over here all the time."
"Also, the suit's transformation function is pretty good, but there's only one set of clothes, so please help me add some more clothing varieties to it."
"Phew, what kind of clothes do you want to add? Suits or trendy styles?"
"Women's clothing!"
Shuri paused, doubting whether she had heard correctly.
But when she saw Sean Brooke pull out various uniforms and explain what each one was called one by one, her expression became strange.
"Look, this one is called a school swimsuit, this one is a JK uniform, this one is a sailor suit, and this one is..."
"Ahem, pay attention, don't get distracted. There must be many colors of stockings; black and white go without saying, they are essential! Also, other accessories must be complete, like ears, tails, claws..."
"Oh right! Can the Nano Suit be a bit thinner? It's best if it doesn't affect the tactile feel. Also, the amount of nanites needs to be higher, enough to cover 3... no, 5 people! It would be best if it could cover five people!"
"How about it? These requirements can be met, right?" Sean Brooke looked at her expectantly.
Shuri's eyes had lost focus after hearing the first request.
Last time, the requests Sean Brooke made were strange, but still within a normal range. After all, everyone wants their suit to look cool.
But this time, she really didn't want to agree.
She felt that if she made this kind of Nano Suit, she would no longer be clean.
Of course, in the end, she couldn't refuse.
Sean Brooke was asking for her opinion and his tone was very gentle, but did Shuri really dare to refuse?
It wasn't that she couldn't do it. If she really couldn't, she believed Sean Brooke wouldn't say anything. But since this was just difficult to bring herself to do, she had to suppress her sense of shame.
Shuri nodded and said helplessly: "It's possible, and it will be quick. It's just changing the clothes; there aren't any major modifications."
"Hmm, not bad, I knew you could do it!"
Not waiting for her to finish in Wakanda, Sean Brooke decided to take the time to go to Afghanistan first; it wasn't far anyway, and it was on the way.
...
At night, inside a gathering place for militants, they looked disheveled, their expressions filled with terror.
Ivan controlled the Brave Guardian, smashed through a wall with one punch, and strode inside.
The people inside were screaming and firing their guns, only feeling that the AKs in their hands could bring them a sliver of security.
Inside the armor, Ivan's expression was grim. He took out a chain used for binding people and beat them to death one by one.
After releasing the fire within his heart, Ivan let out a long sigh and looked towards the direction of New York.
"Stark, I haven't lost yet. You just wait for me!"
Then, he found a bundle of bombs in the corner of the room; they were heavy, and they were his target this time.
Looking at the tragic scene behind him, he prepared to detonate the bombs directly. He didn't want others to see, as it would lower his mission score.
When he was escorted here this time, it was said that Homelander had sent him here to make up for his mistakes. Otherwise, he would be locked in a dark, sunless prison right now, never to come out.
Maybe he would even be tortured to extract his last remaining value.
Thinking of Sean Brooke, Ivan still felt a bit guilty.
Therefore, he had sent the blueprints for the Arc Reactor to express his gratitude; he didn't know if he had received them.
Just as Ivan was preparing to detonate the bombs, a muffled sound came from behind him.
He hurriedly turned around and saw it was Sean Brooke; his expression was still somewhat stunned.
"Why are you here?"
Could it be that he received his blueprints and came to let him go back?
"Come out, let's talk."
Ivan didn't hesitate and quickly retreated.
Because if Sean Brooke wanted to kill him, he wouldn't need to trick him into coming out; one punch would kill him.
He wasn't wearing the Vibranium armor right now; it wouldn't matter at all.
After he retreated, Sean Brooke stepped forward and gently wiped the armor.
This Brave Guardian was his idea, and when it was first made, he thought it was quite good.
Having a Superhero replace him to punish evil and promote good in New York could be considered his contribution.
However, Ivan had ruined this contribution, which made him very unhappy.
Ivan walked forward and asked: "What do you want to talk about? You aren't asking me to let Stark go, are you?"
"I remember I said that only after dealing with Stark would I continue to be the Brave Guardian. Isn't it still not..."
A cold wind blew by. This feeling was somewhat familiar to him, very much like the wind in Siberia that day.
He turned his head, and sure enough, it was familiar. That day, Sean Brooke was the same, his eyes glowing, floating in mid-air, looking down at him.
"I also said, don't do bad things, because that makes me lose face!"
Ivan's eyes widened, his heart pounding. He immediately recalled the fear from the bottom of his heart that day; how could he have forgotten?
"Don't... don't be like this, Sean. For the sake of the many people I've saved, don't kill me!"
Sean Brooke smiled slightly. To Ivan, this smile looked somewhat stiff and terrifying.
"Don't be nervous. Do you remember the God we talked about before?"
"I... I remember."
Sean Brooke opened his arms and laughed even more wantonly. It wasn't as stiff as before, but it was even more terrifying.
"I am God!"
Chapter 90: I Want to Write a Tally Mark on Your Leg
A violent explosion erupted from the cabin behind, and Ivan died inside. The Brave Guardian was severely damaged; it must have been the militants detonating a bomb at the last moment, dying together with him.
This was the final report sent to New York by the U.S. military stationed in Afghanistan several days later.
...
Not long after returning to Wakanda, the functions Sean needed were modified.
Shuri originally wanted to complain a few words, but seeing that he seemed to be in a bad mood, she didn't say anything more.
Upon receiving the new Nano Suit, Sean felt slightly happier. Unable to wait to find someone to test it with, he rushed back to New York.
After thinking for a moment and gauging his current mood, it wasn't a good time to find others; in this situation, it could only be Natasha or Sif.
It was early morning, and they must have been asleep.
But the sharp Natasha still woke up the moment Sean opened the door.
She brushed her hair and asked with a smile, "Why didn't you stay elsewhere today? Did you think of coming home?"
Sean leaned against the door, took out a watch, spun it on his hand, and said in a very pretentious tone:
"Oh my, I picked up another watch today. I remembered someone wanted me to give her one last time. It seems I was just being wishful thinking."
After saying this, he prepared to leave.
The moment Sean put his hand on the door, Natasha's reflexes as a Level 10 Agent manifested.
Before he had even pulled the door for a second, she did a somersault down, and in mid-air, she removed some of her restraints.
Then, she pinned Sean against the door and gave him a French kiss.
The two only separated after a long time. Natasha savored it, then looked at him straight on.
The flames in her eyes seemed to want to burn Sean to ashes. Every little movement of her body was signaling: Hurry, save me!
Sean reached out and pushed her away.
"Hmph, you're only showing this now? It's too late. I'll go ask someone else if they like watches."
Natasha gave a coquettish snort and wrapped herself around him again.
"Don't, I like it~"
Although she wasn't the type of personality who liked to act spoiled, she could play the part of acting spoiled well; in this regard, almost no one could rival her.
Seeing that Sean didn't leave directly, Natasha knew there was a chance, knowing he came tonight specifically to give her the suit.
Since that was the case, giving him a step down would secure the Nano Vibranium Suit.
"Give me a chance. Tonight, I want to be a good woman."
Sean curled his lips, "Ahem, I don't really care about being a good woman, but I like giving people chances."
Facts proved that Natasha, as a top-tier Agent, was indeed very good at seizing opportunities.
Especially for the Nano Suit, she was really going all out, using moves she didn't usually employ.
Although there might be some trouble by the morning, she couldn't care about that anymore; it was worth it!
Sean also took this opportunity to test the new suit, seeing what kind of outfits it had, wondering if they were suitable for Natasha.
After testing for a long time, he discovered that she could actually adapt to all the outfits.
No matter what clothes he changed her into, she could quickly get into character; the speed of her reaction surprised even Sean.
However, this also made him realize one drawback of this Nano Suit: it was hard to tear.
As expected, practice is the only way to true knowledge.
The next morning, the sun was shining brightly.
In this weather approaching winter, this sunlight was quite rare.
Natasha lay quietly to the side, maintaining silence; in her current state, she shouldn't disturb Sean.
She secretly glanced at the watch on his wrist, feeling strange in her heart. When did he add more tricks? She couldn't quite react in time and almost had a mental breakdown.
She could only take advantage of the time while Sean was asleep to recover some strength.
When Sean woke up, she quickly leaned in and asked weakly:
"How is it? Am I a good woman?"
Sean smiled with satisfaction and drew a horizontal line on her thigh.
Looking at the 'one' on her leg, she guessed the gist of it. She stared at him with a resentful face, seeing if he was embarrassed to say it out loud.
"Wait until I write a tally mark, then I'll give you the watch."
Natasha bit her lip lightly and snorted coldly.
"Can I seek support?"
"You are allowed to seek outside assistance. And don't rush; as long as this line doesn't disappear, the promise will always be there."
Hearing this, Natasha's mood improved a little.
It would be easy if she could find support. At most in a week, she was confident she could finish writing a tally mark!
During these few days when Natasha was racking her brains trying to get Sean to write, the Brave Guardian was transported back from Afghanistan.
They, of course, had tried to repair the armor, wanting to use it on the battlefield themselves.
However, they could barely even understand it, so they had no choice but to send it back.
Upon learning of Ivan's Death, the President discussed it and decided to make it public.
This matter couldn't be hidden for too long after all. Although Ivan's fame wasn't as great as the other two, he still had quite a few die-hard fans.
He really had saved quite a few people on the streets of New York City every day.
Sean learned about this news from Natasha; she hadn't linked Sean's actions that day with Ivan.
The main reason was that the Afghan side had falsified the time of Ivan's Death, and the Ten Rings had jumped out to take credit for the matter.
It was just that Sean didn't care. Since he had acted, he wasn't afraid of being discovered.
However, if he wasn't discovered, he wouldn't volunteer the information, because it was truly unnecessary. Ivan was just a small character; he didn't deserve it.
...
In front of the White House, a large number of reporters were gathered here. Today was the day the President would deliver the report regarding the Brave Guardian.
Many people who had been saved by Ivan were in the outermost circle, holding up his photos; the atmosphere was very oppressive.
Mr. President, under the protection of bodyguards, walked to the center of the podium.
"Today, with a heavy heart, I am here to state that the matter regarding the passing of Mr. Ivan Vanko, the Brave Guardian, in Afghanistan is true."
The reporters' cameras clicked away, and the fans rubbed their eyes, letting out sobs.
This news was indeed hard for people to believe because this was the first hero to die since Superheroes had appeared.
For a long time, they had had a preconceived theory that Superheroes were immortal, just like in comics, always able to turn defeat into victory at the last moment.
But reality slapped them hard in the face, completely shattering their illusions.
However, that group of people in Hells Kitchen were actually quite happy.
Ivan's Death opened a door for them; it turned out that the person driving the Iron Armor was just an ordinary person, and if hit by a bullet, they would also die.
This made that group of people in the underground World extremely happy, with one after another clamoring to go and kill Iron Man as well, to see who would dare to be a Superhero anymore.
As for Homelander Sean, they didn't mention him at all.
They were just arrogant, not stupid.
Outside, the President spoke of some of Ivan's deeds during his lifetime and also cleared his father's name, which could be considered a reward for the good deeds he had done.
Just as the President was about to finish, Sean landed in the center of the scene, stood to the side, and signaled for him to continue and finish.
The President swallowed hard, said a few casual words, and then handed the microphone to Sean.
