2009 – October]
"What brings you here, Elijah?", Selene asked the charming young man in front of her, his name rolling off her tongue with sensuality while she parted her legs for a moment just to cross them again the other way around.
Her smokey eyeshadow made her blue eyes stand out even more, her full lips slightly moistened by her small tongue.
The Dark Priestess sat opposite the young Frost looking as if her whole existence was molded by desire and temptation, her thin midnight blue silk dress almost revealing more than it hid as she didn't bother wearing anything beneath.
One of her slender arms and fair hands was laying on the armrest of the leather recliner that she sat on while the other was placed in her lap, the tips of her fingers caressing her thigh and hip as she looked on with smoldering eyes.
It was blatant seduction but for Selene, this had just become second nature to her since she was someone that enjoyed having power over others, seduction being her favourite tool when it came to enthralling someone.
She didn't even care if it was a man or a woman as her beauty and demeanour were often fatal to both genders even without the use of her mind magic.
The young man in front of her had proven himself immune to her charm during their last meeting though, so Selene had no illusions about being able to seduce him this time.
She simply enjoyed the attempt. Maybe not as much as she would enjoy success but it certainly served to make things a bit more interesting.
In part, the Dark Priestess also put on this act to mask her own trepidation as unlike last time, she could now register the young man's presence with her senses and what she sensed made even an ancient existence such as her nearly shudder.
It didn't feel as if she was sitting opposite a human being at all, instead, it felt as if she was facing a dark void, a sentient manifestation of darkness.
And this was without using any type of scrying to look deeper into the origin of Elijah's existence since her instincts were warning her that she would not survive doing so.
This realization alone was reason enough to feel terrified as Selene knew very well what this signified considering her experience in dealing with higher beings.
She had no idea how he had taken this 'step' but the young man in front of her had undoubtedly touched upon a realm that only a few beings in existence even had knowledge about.
Still, being a sorceress that specialized in darker types of magics, including ritual and sacrificial magic, she was no stranger to borrowing power from the Darkforce Dimension by sacrificing her own or others' life force.
This naturally meant that she had felt it when he had become a Realm Lord even though she didn't know the exact details of what had happened.
Selene had simply sensed the spike of terrible power that he had brought with him as he had returned from the Darkforce Dimension after his ascension as well as the chaotic tremors that had shaken the whole Darkforce Dimension for hours that had stopped just moments before.
Unable to confirm any of her guesses even without possibly angering a higher being, she simply kept those speculations buried in the depths of her heart.
Furthermore, the Dark Priestess had no desire to mention any of this as she knew that once the truth was spoken aloud, it would drastically change the power dynamic between them, much more than it already had.
After all, if there was one thing that she had learned in the long years of her life, then that was that higher beings – truly immortal entities – should not be angered or disrespected. Especially so if they had the strength to walk on this planet unhindered, as doing so was akin to inviting disaster onto oneself.
"Since you are in my debt due to my promise to deal with Apocalypse for you, I thought it would only be fair if I came here and ask you to do something for me in return.", the young man replied calmly, his deep green eyes not showing any indication that her charming form had any effect on the teenager.
Smiling beautifully, Selene answered raspily, the last of her sentence spoken with a certain innuendo: "Of course. I am in your debt, feel free to use me however you want."
"You truly are bold, saying this to my face when you know what I am.", Elijah smirked faintly as shadows danced in his eyes, his presence becoming a bit heavier as his gaze weighed on her.
Facing the young Frost like this, Selene stayed outwardly composed though she felt a single drop of sweat run down her lower back as she played her rather dangerous game.
A moment later, Elijah's amusement vanished and white flames started to burn in his irises as he looked at her, his lips parting: "There are two hundred and thirteen containment units filled with raw Vibranium in the possession of a man called Ulysses Klaue. I want you to deliver all of them, and Klaue, to Emma."
Eyes widening minutely, Selene fought hard to hide her surprise at these words as this was certainly the last thing that she had expected the young man to ask of her.
The Dark Priestess was rather shocked as she was very familiar with that particular black market weapons dealer since it had been her that had helped him escape Wakanda alive with his stolen goods. Not that he or anybody else knew of this tidbit.
Otherwise, it would have been impossible for the man to escape Wakanda, even with the bombs that he had placed in civilian areas as a distraction.
Selene had helped Klaue simply because she had thought that it might be interesting to see what would come of this, as well as seeing the potential to benefit from this somewhere down the line.
"Where do I find this man?", she asked softly, naturally not revealing that she knew Klaue.
The blaze in Elijah's eyes died down as he looked at her with a calm smile, his gaze rather unfathomable as if he could see things that others couldn't.
"I am sure as a sorceress, you can figure this out yourself. Especially since you seem to recognize the name.", he stated quietly as he rose from his seat.
Her muscles tensing at being found out so easily, her lips drew a beautiful arc as she laughed gently to disperse her tension: "My my, it seems that I can't really hide anything from you."
Her hand rose from her lap to her chest, resting atop her ripe cleavage as she continued huskily while looking up at Elijah from her seated position, her eyes glittering charmingly: "Maybe this is what fate looks like … "
His calm smile not changing, the young man responded lightly while shaking his head: "You are a good liar, Selene. But your fear tastes as bitter as everyone else's."
Freezing up, Selene's movements became a bit stiff as she watched Elijah turn away and disperse into a cloud of shadows.
