Chapter 44 - Ch43 - Endgame Preparations

Kyoto University.

Saiko Intelli.

These last few days have been... illuminating.

First, her mother all but forces her to meet with her fiancé. Something she would normally be quite miffed about... but Saiko was the one to proposition him first, outright telling Seiki Yamazaki to marry her. Not that she remembers it, given the nature of his Quirk. So she simply has to trust that she would throw herself to Japan's hidden Titan.

Seiki Yamazaki. Black hair tinted purple, one red eye one blue. Flawless skin, a flawless physique... covered in muscles, he physically towers over her...

All while wielding a Quirk that grants him infinite time.

...Yeah, she could see herself doing that.

Being a Titan's wife? Even if he's having relations with a dozens of other women, something that she still wasn't entirely comfortable with, she'd be stupid to pass it up.

She couldn't afford to pass it up.

Then he tells her about All For One.

Knowing that the boogeyman, the Quirk Thief, was not only real, but living in Japan, was terrifying... but she was also relieved.

There was no safer place than by Seiki's side.

And now, she's in a state if the art lab her mother had "rented out" for them. Something you couldn't do with just money. But when you had pull with the local politicians, the schools, and so forth... getting a college lab all to yourself for a week or two isn't any trouble at all. All it costs them was a donation or two.

Using the tools available to enact her "plan."

Despite its otherworldly effects, Trigger wasn't actually all that complicated. At the root, it was just weaponized hormone imbalance. Some people struggle to not use their Quirks because they either rely on emotions, or are fueled by emotions... and Trigger simply uses that defect in Quirked biology to force Quirks to trigger, hence the name.

Sometimes that results in a stronger Quirk effects, because your Quirk is forced to activate at a rate or level you aren't physically capable of, but it isn't pulling energy from nothing. It's just messing with your brain, making you tax a metaphorical muscle you weren't capable of taxing yourself.

Not that messing with the brain was easy.

"—Doesn't work."

"—Doesn't work."

"—Makes you want to use your Quirk, but nothing more than that."

"—Kills him, Quirk overuse."

"—Kills him again."

"—Kills him even quicker."

"—Heh," her fiancé chuckled, shaking his head. "You know, it was only an idle thought, but to think he really would pop like a balloon..."

"—Doesn't work."

"—Doesn't work."

"—Hmm... mutates the physical Quirk Factor irreversibly, killing him in the process. Nasty way to go— the holes on his palms getting bigger and bigger, until his hands fall apart. And then his arms, and then his torso... killed by his own Quirk. Would be quite the poetic way to go out, if he wasn't, well, a body snatching cheater."

"Morbid," Saiko muttered, trying to shake that image from her head. Already working on the next sample—

"—Doesn't work."

"—Doesn't work."

"...Huh."

"Huh? As in, 'huh, that worked?'" Saiko probed, annoyed. Because while getting her results fed back to her through time— allowing her to develop and test new subtypes one right after the other— was extraordinary, simply being told it "doesn't work" for hours on end was incredibly infuriating.

"No, it didn't work, but... you still made something interesting..."

"Spit it out."

"Let's call it Mutate. Mutates the physical Quirk Factor irreversibly, and the Quirk runs hot for a few minutes... but then it doesn't do anything else. Essentially, it gives your Quirk permanent Mutant type attributes. Actually," his eyes swirled again. "Well now. Give someone the right beeQuirk, and this becomes a one of a kind product. And to think you know a girl..." he trailed off, raising an eyebrow at her.

"So you've got a thing for catboys, huh?"

Saiko spluttered. "Y-You—!"

"Don't worry, you're not going to remember any of this," he said cheekily. "But I certainly am, and now I know just how to win you over. Mrrrrrow."

Letting out an annoyed huff, she decided to focus back on her current project—

"—Doesn't work."

"—Doesn't work."

"...Close. It overworks the physical Quirk Factor too much, which kills him. But it does drain the Quirk at an acceptable rate."

'Well then. If that's the case—'

"—Doesn't work."

'And if not that—'

Saiko feels his posture straighten. No longer absentmindedly looking over her shoulder, lightly teasing her as he feeds her answers through time, his face is resolute. Serious.

"You really did it," he muttered, wonder in his voice. "I could kiss you."

To which Saiko snorts.

"Of course I did it," she said haughtily, puffing out her still-moderate chest. "And if you really want to kiss me, no one could stop you—"

Seiki swings her chair around, lifting up his leg so he's sitting on her lap. His flawless, heavy physique pressing down on her frame, his body pressing firmly against her petite breasts and hips, she lets out a shaky breath— only for Seiki's hands to slip around her neck and waist, pulling her into a kiss.

His tongue gently pressing into her mouth, rubbing against hers as he holds her close... Saiko all but falls apart. Not able to do much more than pant and moan back into his mouth as he sucks on her lips.

It's almost too much...

'But that's fine,' Saiko thinks to herself. Because this is all apart of her plan.

'Seiki Yamazaki's weakness is easy to exploit— women. All I have to do is be someone he wants to seduce, wants to have... s-s-sex with, and then I win.'

So she simply has to hand him opportunities like these, letting him get enraptured with her body and wits, and she will be his. And as Seiki pulls out of their kiss, staring down at her with want as a trail of spit connecting the two of them... she's almost certain that she's succeeding—

"I'm well aware of your plan," Seiki tells her, and Saiko freezes like a deer in headlights. Not sure how he's going to react to her trying to pull one over on him—

"I mean, it's my plan too. All it takes is a forceful kiss, and you can't stop thinking about me. You really think you can win this game?"

Saiko blinks, before her face flushes bright red.

"W-Well," she stuttered, trying her best to sound haughty. Looking up, and away, not quite confident enough to meet Seiki's eyes... but confident nonetheless. "It's f-fine if you win. I just have to w-win, too, isn't that right?"

"Hmmm. True. And you're doing quite good so far, Sai-senpai~"

She blushes. Again.

"S-So, the uh, the modified Trigger works?"

Seiki leans back... still sitting in her lap. Something she doesn't q-quite mind. "I decided to call it Drain. Ignites a minimal, unnoticeable strain on the physical Quirk Factor— if you're Quirk has no mental triggers, you won't even notice it. Slowly draining Quirks of their energy, killing the average person in about 20 minutes. And while with incredible control over your Quirk, you can tamper it off... that only works if you have a single Quirk."

"No downsides?" Saiko asked.

To which Seiki let out an exasperated sigh. "Because it activates every Quirk in tandem— Life Force, Regen, Energy Saver, FQA, and dozen mutant types— he regains his face." Saiko couldn't help but stiffen at that, having been let in on just how dangerous the man was without his eyes. "A Quirk synergy that he's too injured to perform on his own, not that he's aware he can even do such a thing. If I had to guess, it relies on the natural regen of his Octopus Quirk—"

"They're capable of regeneration, sure, but not even octopi—"

"It's a Quirk, Saiko."

The "Quirk's are bullshit" being left unsaid.

"But you did manage to kill him?"

"Mmhmm," Seiki nodded. "But it was far from pretty."

And she can't help but ask.

"...What happened?"

"First, I slaughtered everyone under him. 14 activations of Warp Gate, and every loyal mole, plant, conspirator, dead." Seiki stated. And while she knew his hands were bloodied, it still unnerved her to hear him talk about it so casually. Something that she will need to get over— rather, the version of her he finally seduces will need to get over.

It's a lot easier for her to just think about his thick, muscly thighs pressing down on her lap, about his pecs and abs right in front of her face, just beneath his skin tight shirt...

"...Then I portaled to him. Activated Knockout, used his blood to acquire beeQuirk AFO, yadda yadda. Took Bloodlet. Then I drugged him," Seiki continued to narrate.

"And then I left."

It only took her a moment to consider the fallout.

She shuddered.

"I had to portal back to him twice, re-drugging him after Drain made its way through his system... with that in mind, it took a little over 9 hours for him to die," Seiki said. "He managed to kill 840,000 people in that time."

Saiko bit her lip.

"So now you have to accomplish that without relying on Queen Bee... and without letting All For One massacre the Japanese populace," Saiko said evenly. But she can't help but feel nervous. Not completely sure just how many lives her future husband is willing to risk—

"Don't worry your cute little heart. I'm not that far gone," Seiki said, his eyes distant. "I don't much care for Japan, not after what it did to me... but letting so many civilians get caught in the crossfire isn't helping anyone. Not to mention that it's really, really sloppy."

Something she couldn't quite hide her sigh of relief at.

"There's another problem, though."

"What?"

"If I'm not relying on Queen Bee... even with my counter for Bloodlet, I'll have to be there in person. And if I'm going to be there in person, I'm going to have to go public— or at the very least, I'm going to have to reveal my hand."

"Wait, why?"

"All For One can sense all Quirk Activations in his immediate radius. He can sense vibrations, he can sense heat, he can sense general intent, he can sense people looking at him," Seiki listed, and while Saiko knew these things, hearing them all one after the other... "This route requires a level of precision that no one else could ever hope to reach."

He looked down at her.

"And I'm the Titan of Precision."

Saiko let out a breath at that, pulled in by the speech... but also slightly put off by it. "Are you... were you trying to build hype for yourself?"

To which Seiki pouted. "Am I not allowed to have some fun with it? You try existing when no one else will remember what you did."

Which was... fair.

"Before we do any of that, though, I'll need a deterrent."

"A deterrent?" Saiko recited.

"My Quirk isn't a deterrent. Even if I'm fresh off a battle against All For One, which would make everyone with a brain weary, I'm still not a deterrent. The only Titan who isn't one, fancy that. And neither are Rinka, Azula, Konan, or D'Vorah—" he paused. "Well, D'Vorah can be quite a bit more disastrous now, with Queen Bee's other methods of attack— but she still isn't a deterrent."

"...I'm not quite sure what you mean by deterrent," Saiko muttered.

She had a general idea, but...

"Someone not quite a Titan, but still someone the government would consider twice before provoking," he explained. "For example, The Killer Frost was a deterrent."

Saiko stared.

"...You tried to recruit that?"

"Eh. Powerful, female, hot. Why not? Too bad she was batshit crazy..." Saiko simply eyed the women Seiki had brought with him, sitting around the lab. Rinka Wolfe, D'Vorah, Konan, Azula Onozaki— Freaking Inque. Before raising an eyebrow back at Seiki, who didn't even seem to notice.

But after only two meetings with her fiancé, she knows that he almost certainly picked up on her non-verbal jab, and is simply playing stupid and ignoring her... in such a way that Saiko's still not even sure he actually caught it.

'Freaking perfectionist bullshit. Completely unbeatable.'

"...And not the fun kind. Frost was like, the ultimate femcel, and because the guy she liked— who was her College Professor— wouldn't date her, she decided to 'hate all men.'"

"Unbelievable," Saiko muttered, shaking her head. "But I get it. You want your own last resort. Your own Star & Stripe, your own All Might."

"Yeah..."

"Who do you have in mind?"

"You wouldn't have heard of her. I..." Seiki looked away. "When I was an HPSC operative, I took a lot of information gathering missions. The HPSC was more than happy to let me operate in foreign nations— something that is incredibly illegal— and then I would just load back to Japan. Something that didn't actually violate any laws, because in their eyes, I was simply viewing a future of myself collecting their desired info."

Saiko knew that the HPSC was far from perfect, but the more and more she picked up on his past experiences, the more she can't help but grimace. 'What were they even thinking, trying to mold a Titan with a Quirk like his? He's literally uncontrollable.'

"And while they we're leery of pitting me against the other Titans directly, because they weren't completely stupid... no one else was off limits. And the woman in question is just one of the many, many people the HPSC were constantly fretting over. Especially because she applied to Yuuei— didn't pass her interview, though." Seiki chuckled. "She's not quite right in the head, but in the fun way."

"Who are you recruiting?"

"She's the cousin of one of the most powerful people in the world..."

Saiko huffed. "You're not going to tell me, are you?"

"Hmmmmm... nah. Besides, the first time we meet, she'll just be another one of mine."

Saiko bit her lip.

"When will I finally meet you, and you not leave me to forget?"

"You asked me a favor," Seiki told her, still sitting in her lap. "You told me, in no uncertain terms, to woo you. So guess who'll be starting at your school next spring, just one year below you?"

Her heart skipped a beat. 'Oh... oh no. Nononono...'

"Oh yesssssss. I'm going to have you completely wrapped around my finger. It'll be something straight out of a shoujo-manga— the handsome, lonely boy who fell into money, starting at a prep school in an unfamiliar world, the world of elites. And then along comes the sure-of-herself tsundere, who thinks she's better than everyone else... until she finds someone who can match her."

"Please don't do that. Past me was stupid, moronic—"

Saiko let out a shaky breath when her fiancé leaned down to her, kissing her neck. His thick, masculine arms wrapping around her back, sliding down to just above her butt. His grasp on her figure strong, firm, and gentle, it was hard for her to focus on anything else—

"I've already decided, Sai-senpai. You're far too fun to tease~"
