Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Weird Dream

After the couple vanished into dust, Arashi took a shaky breath and began moving toward the next door. With every step he took, the hallway grew darker… and quieter. As if the entire corridor was slowly swallowing all sound and light.

The air felt heavier. The silence deeper. The shadows darker.

Arashi kept walking anyway.

He reached another room — its door slightly rusted, a faint light seeping out from the cracks.

Just as his hand touched the door……he heard something.

A soft cough.

And right after that, the steady beep… beep… beep of a heart monitor.

Arashi froze for a moment.

Before entering, he lifted his hand and knocked gently.

No answer.

He slowly pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The room was small, dimly lit, and filled with the cold smell of hospital disinfectant.Machines hummed quietly. Shadows danced along the walls.

On the single hospital bed in the center of the room……lay a girl.

She looked around Arashi's age.

Her entire body — from her feet all the way to the top of her head — was covered under a thick blanket.Only her hair was visible, long strands spilling out from the pillow.

Arashi walked toward her slowly, cautiously.

Before he could say anything, the girl spoke first.

Her voice was soft… but it echoed strangely, as if the room itself carried her words.

"You came, Arashi."

Arashi's heart skipped a beat.

He stepped back slightly, startled."H-Huh?" he blurted out, completely thrown off.

The girl let out a quiet breath.

"I've been waiting for you."

Arashi felt a chill travel down his spine.

"W–Wait," he stammered. "You… were waiting for me? But… who are you? And why would you wait for me?"

He stared at the blanket-covered figure, confusion mixing with fear.

Because no matter how hard he tried…

…he couldn't remember ever meeting her.

The girl let out a weak, almost sad laugh.

"Of course I was waiting for you. Did you already forget me, Arashi?"

Arashi felt his chest tighten."F-Forget you? But… I don't even know who you are," he replied honestly."If you tell me your name, maybe I'll remember. If I know you, then I should remember you."

The girl exhaled slowly — a soft, fragile sound.

"No, Arashi… I can't tell you."Her voice trembled slightly, but she continued,"And besides… I don't have much time left. So the only thing I want… is for you to forget me again."

Arashi's confusion grew deeper.

"What does that even mean?" he whispered."Forget you again? I don't understand. At least tell me your name—"

But she cut him off sharply.

"My name?"A bitter smile touched her voice."What's the point of telling you? What's the use of a name… when you already forgot me once? And now… I want you to forget me again."

A strange pressure filled Arashi's chest — a mixture of guilt, frustration, and something he couldn't describe.

He took a small breath and asked quietly:

"Then… at least let me see your face. If it's okay with you."

For a moment, the room fell dead silent.

Then the girl answered softly:

"I'm sorry… but no."

She spoke with a voice filled with sadness.

"Because I don't want you to see me like this… in this condition."

Arashi shook his head. "I won't be bothered—"

He took one step forward.

Immediately, her voice cut through the silence like a blade:

"Don't come closer."

Arashi stopped for a second……but then he stepped forward again.

Her voice grew sharper:

"Not one more step."

But Arashi still moved — one more step forward.

And that's when it happened.

The girl suddenly screamed.

A scream so loud it shook the air around him.

"DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!!"

The force of her voice was powerful — inhuman.

The entire hospital seemed to tremble. The floor vibrated. The heart monitor spiked wildly.

Arashi stumbled backward without meaning to, his heart violently pounding as if the echo of her scream was still ripping through the walls.

The girl slowly calmed down after that terrifying scream. Her breathing softened, and the tension in her voice faded a little.

Then she spoke weakly:

"…I'm sorry for that, Arashi. But no… I have to go now."

Arashi blinked, confused."Go? But—"

She interrupted him gently, like a whisper slipping into silence.

"Forget me."

And the moment those words left her lips…

Her entire body flickered.

Then, just like the others before her, she dissolved into dust — fading away completely, leaving the bed empty and cold.

Arashi stood there, stunned, unable to even move.

"What is happening to me…?" he muttered under his breath."Why is everyone disappearing? Why does everyone talk like they know me? What… what is going on?"

His head began to ache.A deep, pulsing pain.

"I have to keep going," he whispered."Even if none of this makes sense…"

After what felt like an eternity, he reached another door.

But this door was different.

Very different.

It wasn't rusted.It wasn't dark.It wasn't covered in dust.

Instead, it looked almost… new.

A pleasant fragrance drifted from inside — sweet, warm, comforting. The kind of smell that didn't belong in this nightmare hospital.

He could also hear something else.

Laughter.

Soft. Joyful.Completely out of place in this hellish dream.

Arashi relaxed slightly for the first time.

He raised his hand and knocked politely before opening the door.

And the moment he stepped inside, his eyes widened.

This room was nothing like the others.

It was bright.

Warm golden light filled every corner. The air felt peaceful — almost cheerful. There was no darkness, no cold, no fear.

Just soft colors, clean walls, and a gentle, comforting atmosphere that felt completely unreal compared to everything he had seen so far.

And then—

His gaze landed on the couple.

A young man and a young woman, sitting close together, talking happily, laughing as if the world around them was perfect.

They looked comfortable with each other.Relaxed.Genuinely happy.

Their smiles were real… unlike anything Arashi had seen in this place so far.

The boy from the couple turned his head first, noticing Arashi standing near the door. His eyes brightened the moment he recognized him.

"Arashi! It's been so long since we last met."

The girl beside him also looked up, smiling warmly.

"Arashi, how have you been?"

For the first time since this nightmare began, Arashi didn't feel scared. This room, this atmosphere, these two people — nothing here felt threatening. He breathed easily and replied casually:

"Hi."

The boy walked toward him with an energetic smile.

"Man, Arashi, today I'm really happy."He motioned toward the girl beside him."And so is she."

The girl giggled softly."He's right."

Arashi felt a faint warmth in his chest — something he hadn't felt since this hospital dream started.

"That's really good," he said sincerely."I'm glad to hear that both of you are happy. If you don't mind… can I ask what the reason is? Why are you so happy today?"

The boy raised an eyebrow.

"Huh? Arashi… you don't know?"Then he smirked."Why are you acting? Of all people, you should know this the most. Stop pretending."

Arashi blinked, completely lost.

"No, I'm not pretending. I really don't know."

The boy stared at him for a moment.

Then he let out a small, amused sigh.

"Oh well… it's fine. You'll remember sooner or later."

The girl nodded with a soft smile.

And then—

Just like every other person in this twisted hospital…

They disappeared.

Vanishing into thin air, as if they were never there.

Arashi barely had time to react when—

A loud, violent sound erupted behind him.

He spun around instantly.

Someone was standing there.

A boy.

But this one was different from anyone he had seen.

The warm, bright atmosphere of the room shattered instantly. In a single moment, all the light drained out — replaced by a suffocating darkness far worse than any room before.

The air turned cold.Almost painful.

The boy stood in the shadows, glaring directly into Arashi's eyes.

His stare was sharp.Intense.Deadly.

And tears were streaming down his cheeks.

But not soft, sad tears —they were tears filled with rage, pain, and something much darker.

The boy's trembling shoulders. His clenched fists. His burning eyes locked onto Arashi like he wanted to tear him apart.

Arashi froze in place.

The boy's voice cracked with anger and pain as he glared at Arashi.

"Arashi… do you seriously not feel even a little guilt?"His voice trembled violently."I treated you like my own brother. I trusted you more than anyone else… and this is what you did to me?"

He slammed his fist into the wall with a loud, echoing thud.

The entire room shook.

"I trusted you, Arashi!" he shouted, tears flowing uncontrollably."I believed you'd handle everything! I believed you'd protect what I couldn't! But you… you used that trust against me."

His crying grew harsher, filled with disbelief and heartbreak.

"Why? WHY, Arashi? Why did you do this to me?"

Arashi stumbled backward, his heart pounding.

"I—I don't understand what you're talking about," he said, his voice shaking."What did I do? I don't even know who you are… please, just explain—"

But the boy suddenly locked eyes with him.

And in that moment, Arashi felt something terrifying.

It didn't feel like the boy was looking at him.

It felt like he was looking into his soul —through every thought, every memory, every hidden corner of his being.

The boy whispered, voice filled with venom:

"You don't know…?"

He stepped closer, eyes blazing.

"Don't joke with me. Don't you dare act innocent."His voice cracked as he screamed,"You think I'll forgive you? If you think that… then you're WRONG!"

And with that final, broken scream—

He vanished.

Just like the others.

Leaving the room colder, heavier, emptier than before.

Arashi staggered out of the room, his breathing uneven, his mind spinning.

This hospital. These people. These accusations.None of it made sense.

He pressed a hand to his head, trying to calm the pain thundering inside his skull.

That's when he saw it.

A glowing EXIT sign.

Finally… a way out.

Arashi ran toward it with all the strength he had left.

He grabbed the door, pushed it open—

And suddenly—

A voice from behind him echoed in the darkness:

"You must fix everything."

A blinding flash of white light exploded in front of his eyes—

And the dream shattered.

Arashi's eyes snapped open.

He found himself on the very edge of his bed —so close that, the moment he moved—

He fell straight to the floor.

Arashi groaned as he sat up, rubbing his head."Ouch… oh, great. What a way to start the day."

He tried to process what had just happened, still dazed from the dream.

"What even was that? That dream… it was so strange…"

He tried to recall every part.

"First… the crying little girl.Second… the married couple.Third… um… third… what was it? I can't remember… think, Arashi, think."

He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to focus."There was a bed… and… uhh… I think I forgot it."

Then he tried to remember the fourth part.

"The fourth one was the happy couple one, the only normal one.And at the end… that boy.Ugh… I don't understand any of it. My head's spinning."

Arashi collapsed back onto the bed, completely drained and confused.

The room was silent, leaving him alone with the remnants of that bizarre dream.
