Chapter 42: The Waiting Game
Mira sat in the café, her eyes fixed on the clock on the wall. Thirty minutes had seemed like a long time when she was waiting for the car, but now it felt like an eternity. She had done her part, and now all she could do was wait.
As she sipped her coffee, her mind began to wander. What would happen when the car arrived? Would Don Matteo's plan work? And what role would Alexandra play in all of this?
Mira's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a car pulling up outside. She glanced out the window, her heart racing with anticipation. A sleek black sedan had pulled up, and a burly man in a suit was getting out.
Mira took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come. She nodded to herself, a sense of determination washing over her. She was ready for this.
The man in the suit walked into the café, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on Mira. He nodded, his expression unreadable. "Mira, the car is waiting for you."
Mira stood up, her heart pounding in her chest. It was time to face Venom. She followed the man out of the café, the bright sunlight a stark contrast to the darkness that lay ahead.
