"Okay," Axel murmured, his voice carried surrender, the kind that didn't come from acceptance but from exhaustion.
It sounded hollow even to his own ears, like a word said only because nothing else was left. But when he still didn't move, when his feet remained rooted to the same spot, Ivan frowned slightly, he wondered what Axel was accepting to if he wasn't moving at all.
"So what are you waiting for?" he asked.
Axel lifted his head slowly. His eyes were red, unfocused, as though he was looking at Ivan through water instead of air.
For a moment, it seemed like he was searching for something... mercy, maybe even a sign that staying was still allowed.
"You can drag me to an omega hostel and tell everyone about it. I don't care anymore," he spoke.
The words were meant to sound defiant, but they didn't land that way. They carried no challenge. They sounded like someone who had already accepted the worst and was daring it to happen faster.
