Chapter 80 - Chapter 80 - Why Did Sirin Become the Herrscher of the Void?

"But based on the information from the last vision, we can deduce that Mei and Dr. Tesla will go to Nagazora, and that's where they meet the little girl," Einstein said, holding up a finger.

"But Nagazora has become a paradise for the Honkai. Putting aside the fact that those children are only able to live there because of Raven, why would Mei and Dr. Tesla go to Nagazora in the first place?"

"Could it be that at that time, Tesla and I received some information about World Serpent and went to Nagazora to investigate?" Raiden Mei suggested after a moment of thought.

"Perhaps," Einstein shrugged. "We currently have no information on that front, so we can't analyze the situation any further. However, the timeline for this future should also be after the battle at Schicksal HQ."

Everyone nodded in agreement. Since Raiden Mei was already with Tesla, it meant that St. Freya and Anti-Entropy must have already formed an alliance.

"Speaking of which, are those children living in Nagazora right now?" Theresa mused. "How about I send some people to bring them out? Nagazora is still too dangerous, after all. I doubt that Raven can stand guard there at all times, right?"

"My advice is that it would be best not to," Einstein shook her head. "We still know too little about Raven and are unsure of what kind of person she is. But one thing we do know is that she cares deeply for those children in Nagazora."

"Without making contact with her first, rashly trying to bring those children out will inevitably lead to a misunderstanding on her part, and that would be troublesome."

"Besides, I don't think we need to be too worried about the children's safety. Since Raven dares to keep those children in Nagazora, it means she must have some way to protect them."

"Then what should we do now?" Theresa asked.

"Hmm... let's do this. First, send some trustworthy people to be stationed around Nagazora. If they see the children, they can try to make contact and express our goodwill. If they encounter Raven, their primary mission is to observe. Under no circumstances should they initiate an attack."

"Understood," Theresa nodded.

After some more discussion, the voice of the Q&A Space sounded once again.

[Question 25: Why did Sirin become the Herrscher of the Void?]

[A: Because she realized that humanity has its limits.]

[B: Because of Schicksal's deception and the death of her friends, Sirin, left with nothing, had only revenge.]

[C: Because she was arrogant and was born with the Pufferfish Herrscher attribute.]

[D: Because she studied the Five-Year University Entrance Exam, Three-Year Simulation.]

"Sirin..."

Hearing this question, everyone's expression immediately turned serious.

Moreover, the question was about why Sirin became the Herrscher of the Void.

To be honest, they only knew that Sirin was the Herrscher of the Void, but they had very little information on how she became one.

"Theresa, do you know why Sirin became the Herrscher of the Void?" Himeko asked.

"This... I don't know much either," Theresa said, frowning in thought. "Back then, the researchers at the Babel experiment facility suddenly disappeared, so I was assigned a mission to investigate the cause."

"Later, I saw Sirin in Babel Tower. But at the time, she was with the other... children. I didn't notice anything wrong with her."

"It wasn't until she left Babel Tower and I tracked her down with Judah that I discovered she had already become a Herrscher."

"But at that time, I saw everything she had been through... If you really want to ask why she became the Herrscher of the Void, then everything Schicksal did to her is probably the biggest reason."

"Great-Aunt, what did Schicksal do to Sirin?" Kiana asked. For some reason, she felt this question was very important to her.

"....."

Theresa opened her mouth, her expression pained, as if the words were incredibly difficult to say.

"Let me explain this part," Einstein interjected. She knew it would be difficult for Theresa to speak of Schicksal's dark side in front of her students, so she decided she might as well be the one to do it.

"At that time, we at Anti-Entropy had detected signs of the Second Herrscher in advance. However, Sirin hadn't fully transformed into the Herrscher of the Void yet. So, we went to Siberia, hoping to persuade or eliminate her before she fully awakened."

"When we arrived in Siberia, we intended to have our inside agent secretly bring out the not-yet-fully-awakened Second Herrscher without alerting Schicksal. After all, a peaceful resolution is always for the best. But she failed and was severely injured herself."

"However, she did manage to relay one crucial piece of information to us."

"That was the identity of the Second Herrscher: she was one of the test subjects from the Babel laboratory."

"Test subjects?" Raiden Mei said, startled. That term gave her a very bad feeling.

"That's right. Test subjects," Einstein said calmly, holding up a finger, her voice almost detached. "Beneath the Babel laboratory, a prison was built. This prison was used to confine orphans brought in by Schicksal from all over the world. On one hand, they claimed they were giving these children who had lost their families a warm and happy home. On the other, they were using them for all sorts of human experiments."

"The artificial Stigmata and enhancement serums that are used on Valkyries today are the results of hundreds, even thousands, of experiments conducted on these test subjects."

"As for the fate of these test subjects, if they were lucky enough to survive an experiment, all that awaited them was a second experiment, then a third... until their usefulness was completely exhausted."

"And for the unlucky ones who died during the experiments, they were simply buried somewhere outside, without even a proper grave."

"...How could they... do that?"

Kiana and Raiden Mei were both in utter disbelief. They had never imagined that an organization like Schicksal, which was meant to fight the Honkai, could have such a dark side.

Bronya's expression, however, showed little change. Having been a mercenary since childhood, she had seen all kinds of darkness. She knew very well that the more brilliant something appeared on the surface, the filthier and darker it was underneath.

Wasn't Anti-Entropy the same?

Although Einstein and Tesla were good people, what about Cocolia?

For the sake of a complete Herrscher core, she hadn't hesitated to turn all of Nagazora into a Honkai paradise, causing immeasurable losses among its population of millions.
