Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: School

It was Monday morning I stood in front of my full-length mirror attempting to look the best I could for the coming day. I glanced at my 5 foot 7' frame with my tousled black hair similar to my Dad Charlie's. I wore my light jacket open, exposing the red hot chili peppers tee shirt underneath. I had a pair of true religion jeans on and some classic vans. Not the most creative outfit, but urban and comfortable while still being somewhat stylish. Fashion wasn't really my thing, but I like to think I know how to dress. I grabbed my keys for the S13 and headed down. I was running late so I skipped breakfast. Plus I haven't been as hungry since my little lightning incident. Dad and Bella had apparently already left. I walked out the front door over to my and started it up, enjoying the purr of the engine. I pulled out and raced over to the high school.

I clearly see all the students heading into the building. Looks like I made it right on time no one notices as I grab a spot in the back of the parking lot. I get out and head into the administration office. There is a middle aged lady behind a desk with the plaquette identifying her as Mrs. Cope. Looking cheerful, Mrs. Cope says, "you must be Bella's older brother, she said you might be running late". She reached into a file and grabbed two papers, handing me my schedule and a map of the school. "Get the schedule signed by each teacher and bring it back at the end of the day, honey", she stated. I thanked Mrs. Cope and left for my first class of the day. The morning passed smoothly as I kept to myself. The majority of the students already knew me or knew of me due to my time spent in Forks during the summer. Some looked weirdly at my eyes, but no one commented.

As my last class of the morning came to an end, it was time for lunch. Despite skipping breakfast I still wasn't hungry and felt no need to get food. So I decided I got to the cafeteria to ensure Bella has somewhere to sit. If she doesn't she can sit with me, if she does I'll go hangout in my car. The majority of my friends in Forks are over in La Push and I feel no need to make new ones as I'll be out of high school in a semester. As I walked into the cafeteria I heard the familiar hum of multiple conversations. I walked through the lunch line to grab an orange juice. Walking through the line I glanced around the room. First I spotted Bella among a bunch of other teens, I was glad she found some fast friends. I noticed she was staring at something so I followed her gaze. She was looking at a table of four people. There was a blonde who looked like a Carl's Jr. model and a big guy who looked like a power lifter. They clearly looked like a couple in the way they learned towards each other like gravity. Another was a lanky guy with bronze hair. He seemed to be staring back towards Bella. The fourth was a short petite girl, she looked like a fairy with a pixie cut. Something about her drew my gaze to her. She didn't seem to notice. I paid for my orange juice and began walking out of the cafeteria.

Alice Cullen POV

Alice watched as Edward stared at the girl she had seen in her vision. Edwards was slightly upset she hadn't said anything about her. But, she knew it was for the best. Then Edwards whispered, "I can see what she's thinking". The shock in his voice was evident. Trying to calm him, Emmett said," just listen to what people are thinking about her". After a few moments, "most of the boys are lusting after her and the girls are jealous. However, some are thinking about her brother. He apparently spends his summers here, but mostly in La Push" said Edward. Edward then focused towards the lunch line. Alice followed his gaze and froze. Looking at him was like looking at the lighting in her vision. She felt inexplicably drawn to him while watching as he was leaving the cafeteria and heading to the parking lot. Looking over she saw Edward and he looked like he had just been electrocuted. He sat perfectly still with his eyes rolled back. She shook him saying, " are you ok Edward". He shook his head and said, "I could read him. But, the whole time it felt like I was on fire. It was excruciating and I couldn't pull out of it till you shook me". "What was he thinking?" asked Emmett. "He was thinking that Alice is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen", whispered Edward. Alice gleefully giggled.
