A few weeks have passed since the fight between the Panther Demons occurred, and I've been traveling with Sesshomaru once again. So, I thought I might as well, rather than trying to find Kagome and the others, but for some reason, I've been feeling extremely restless lately.
"Could it just be my imagination?" I wonder as Rin, and I stared up at the fully red colored moon, but a sound rings out, causing me to look over at her.
"Hungry?" I ask, causing Rin to slightly chuckle.
"Rin." Sesshomaru's voice rings out, causing us both to look over at him.
"Yes? What is it, my Lord?" Rin questions.
"If you're hungry, you must fend for yourself," Sesshomaru answers as he stares at me. "Weirdly, I keep feeling as if he wants to say something to me, but he doesn't." I think as I stare back at him.
"All right. I'm off." Rin insists, causing me to stand up from where I was sitting.
"Wait, Rin. I'll accompany you!" I chirp as I turn and run after her.
"Oh my goodness. Lord Sesshomaru instructed Rin to fend for herself. So why did he then demand that I accompany her and you?!" Jaken exclaims as Rin was riding on A-Un, while Jaken and I were leading A-Un.
"Maybe he felt his retainer was getting lazy." I jibe, causing him to glare up at me.
"How far are we going, Master Jaken?" Rin asks.
"Until we find food! What do you think?!" Jaken exclaims. He didn't have to sound so harsh." I think as I roll my eyes.
"Hmm? Master Jaken, how exactly are you of any service to Lord Sesshomaru?" Rin's questions cause me to chuckle as Jaken begins to tremble.
"Hmm! I serve him in innumerable ways!" Jaken responds while turning around to face her with an angry expression.
"You do?" Rin asks. "Yeah, to take his anger out or wipe his feet on." I think, while trying to keep myself from laughing.
"Yes! For instance, uh..." Jaken trails off as he was distracted by something, but then gasps.
"Are you okay?" I questioned, but he didn't respond and began to chuckle. "Has he gone off the deep end?" I wonder as I go to poke him.
"Master Jaken?" Rin asks, causing Jaken to quickly turn to her.
"Listen here, Rin! Today, you shall witness the great length I go to serve our lord! No vassal has ever served him as I am about to!" Jaken proclaims with a determined expression. "Something tells me this isn't going to end well." I think as my stomach then sounds out in hunger.
"Well, have fun. Rin and I are going to find something to eat..." I trail off as I grab the reins and begin leading A-Un away from Jaken with a sigh. The wind began to dance through my air, but it didn't feel good, more like unsettling. "I'm getting a really bad feeling as if something is on the move..." I think as a chill ran down my spine, but then something tugged on my sleeve, causing me to look over and see Rin looking up at me with a worried expression.
"Do you think I was rude to Jaken?" Rin's questions cause me to shake my head.
"If you didn't mean it to be rude, then I don't think so," I respond, causing Rin to smile with a chuckle.
"Did I say something funny?" I ask, and Rin shakes her head as she points up. I look up and see fruit hanging from the tree above us.
"It's a little high up," Rin answers, and I wink at her.
"Not for me." I insist as I jump up into the tree and begin grabbing the fruit. Suddenly, a big gust of wind blows threw causing me to lose my balance.
"(Y/N)!" Rin calls out, causing me to flip and land on my feet with the fruit still in my arms.
"Sorry, did I scare you?" I question as I hand her one of the fruits in my arms.
"You're so amazing!" Rin responds with a bright smile, making me chuckle. "The wind suddenly changed direction..." I think as Rin and I begin heading back to where Sesshomaru was.
"We'll go ahead and rest here for the night." Sesshomaru's voice rang out, pulling me out of my thoughts as Rin nods sleepily, causing A-Un to lie on the ground.
"Good night, my lord." Rin insists as she lies next to A-Un and closes her eyes.
"You should sleep as well." Sesshomaru adviced causing me to quickly look over to see him staring at me intently. "He must have realized I haven't been able to sleep much..." I think a slight smile forms on my face.
"Then I will turn in as well," I assure, turning away and over to A-Un. Lying down against A-Un, and see Sesshomaru walking away.
(Time Skip)
I woke up and looked over to see that Rin was gone, causing my eyes to widen.
"Where-" I was interrupted when I saw Jaken was gone as well.
"Did they wander off to find food?" I ask as I get up from where A-Un was lying and look around to see no signs of them. "Well, if Rin is with Jaken, I'm sure they're both fine." I think with a sigh, but then a weird smell began to waft into my nose. Quickly, I look around trying to see if what I was smelling was around.
"What could it be?" I wonder as I then look down at my arm and sniff it.
"Oh!" I sound out as I quickly take my arm away from my nose. "I need a bath..." I think as I then hear A-Un get up, causing me to sigh.
"Come on, A-Un lets see if we can find a lake or pond." I insist, causing it to sound out, while I grab the rains causing us both to walk forward. Finally, after walking a bit, we came to what looked like a hot spring. "Oh, thank God, I'm saved!" I think as I turn to A-Un with a smile.
"Stay here, alright. When I'm done, I'll get you some nice juicy grass, ok?" I request, and A-Un sounds out. "I'll take that as a yes." I think as I look around before getting undressed and walk over to the Hot Spring and get in.
"Perfect..." I trailed off as I sat down and stayed there for a moment. "I should enjoy this, while I can... The wind signals unrest, and something evil is starting to resurface." I think as I stare at the Jewel Shard hanging from my neck.
"Which can only mean Naraku's about to make his move." I made known, while letting out a loud sigh.
(To Jaken)
"Rock, paper, scissors!" Jaken chuckles as he slides down a piece of bamboo and quickly rushes over to a slight clearing.
"Now, hurry up and come out, Noman! What's taking you so long?!" Jaken exclaims, causing a giant man without a face to come up out of the ground.
"You summoned?" Noman asks.
"Noman, Inuyasha and his friends are coming, so get close to them and steal the Tessaiga. You are a Demon born from the regrets of man, so you should be able to grasp the sword. Now set out and steal it!" Jaken instructs as Noman stands up from the ground.
"The Tessaiga?" Noman questions as he tilts his head.
"It's Inuyasha's precious treasure," Jaken responds.
"Is it valuable?" Noman asks, causing Jaken to nod earnestly.
"Find it and bring it back to me." Jaken answers.
(To (Y/N)
Finally, I finish up and go to grab my clothes, but they were gone, causing me to look over at A-Un, only to see a kimono placed on his Saddle. "Who left this here?" I wonder as I begin to change into it. Suddenly, A-Un sounds out, causing me to chuckle, and I nod my head.
"Alright, let's go find that good grass you like." I insist as I grab his reins and begin to lead him into the forest.
(To Jaken)
Jaken was pacing around in a circle when he then heard a stomping sound, causing him to look over and see Noman standing there.
"Master Jaken, I've brought your treasures," Noman states as he reaches into his kimono, and Jaken grins.
"Excellent! Did you get the Tessaiga?" Jaken asks Noman, who pulls out Shippo's Spinning Top.
"Here." Noman answer caused Jaken to put on an angry expression.
"That's not it!" Jaken bellows and Noman hold out Miroku's Money.
"That's not it, either!" Jaken calls out, making Noman pull out a ribbon.
"I have no need for those!" Jaken screams, but Noman pulls out some more trinkets from his kimono.
"What about these treasures?" Noman questions, making Jaken jump up and smack him several times in the head, which makes him drop the objects to the ground.
"You fool! These aren't treasures! Why didn't you bring me back the Tessaiga!?" Jaken exclaims.
"Tessaiga?" Noman asks as his head begins to reform.
"It's Inuyasha's sword!" Jaken answers.
"All he had was a rusty old thing." Noman made known.
"Fool. That's the one!" Jaken declares as Noman starts picking the trinkets up off the ground.
"It didn't look nearly as valuable as these treasures." Noman insists.
"Stop your babbling and go get me the sword!" Jaken demands, and Noman groans as he walks away.
"What a dimwit!" Jaken curses, causing Rin to come out from behind a tree.
"Master Jaken, are you certain that the Demon can handle this?" Rin questions with a concerned expression, while Jaken looks down at the ground.
"If only I had some Henchman, this job would be easier. Ah, for the old days... When I was the Commander and had many serving under me. Back then, I had hundreds of Demons and controlled the plains of Musashi. We were at battle with the Demons that controlled the Eastern Mountains. Their leader was Bikuni, who, despite being several hundred years old, was a formidable foe..." Jaken trails off as the past replayed in his mind."
"Several decades have passed since that day, and I have long thought to reply my debt of gratitude. I can't leave this to that bumbling Demon." Jaken remarks as he rushes off.
"He sure finds ways to keep himself busy." Rin points out as she watches him run off.
(To (Y/N) )
Suddenly, a familiar figure comes into view, causing me to stop in my tracks.
"As I expected..." His voice trails off as Sesshomaru's eyes look me up and down, causing me to give him a knowing expression.
"Thank you for the kimono." I thank Sesshomaru, who turns away from me as I begin walking towards him, only to see a field of purple flowers below us, causing my eyes to widen. "These flowers... They're the same as my Hair stick." I think as I stared at them.
"Do you dislike these flowers?" Sesshomaru asks, pulling me out of my thoughts and putting on a bewildered expression.
"Oh, it's not that," I answer as I pick up a few and hold one out to him.
"They're beautiful, but they make me feel conflicted..." I chuckle slightly, causing Sesshomaru to stare at the flower.
"They suit you," Sesshomaru whispers as he then turns as I go to look at him. "Naraku said the same thing..." I think as Sesshomaru begins walking away causing me to sigh, but then the flower in my hand disappeared causing me to look over and see A-Un eating it.
"Did that flower look appetizing?" I wonder as I start leading A-Un away after taking one last look at the flower field.
"(Y/N)!" Rin's voice rings out, making me look over and see Rin rushing over to me.
"There you are. Where's Jaken?" I question as I look around, but she shakes her head.
"He's determined to get Inuyasha's Sword." Rin responds. "Of course he is..." I think as I let out a sigh.
"Let's go see if we can talk some sense into him," I state as I get onto A-Un and hold my hand out to Rin.
"Okay!" Rin chirps as she grabs onto my hand, allowing me to pull her up onto A-Un.
"Please take us to Jaken, A-Un." I request causing A-Un to sound out, while lifting into the air and begins soring through the air.
"Curse you, Inuyasha, you wretch!" Jaken's voice rings out, causing Rin and me to look over and see Jaken hanging onto the ledge of a cliff.
"Bring us down, A-Un," I instruct, causing A-Un to slowly float down to him.
"That must hurt, Master Jaken." Rin insists.
"Of course it does!" Jaken bellows as he looks over at us.
"Well, I suppose you're giving up then." Rin assumes, and I nod.
"It would be wise to stop pursuing this, Jaken," I advise, causing Jaken to climb up the cliff.
"Never! Now, both of you stop interfering and questioning my every move?! Now, be off!" Jaken demands, causing me to glare down at him.
"But I thought you said you wanted me to see you in action." Rin points out, making Jaken shake his head.
"I said no such thing!" Jaken shouts, and I scoff.
"Don't say I didn't warn you, Jaken," I inform as A-Un turns away and we begin flying through the sky once again.
"Master Jaken..." Rin trails off, making me sigh.
"Don't worry, Rin. Inuyasha wouldn't severely harm Jaken." I made known as her eyes met mine.
"Then why did you warn him?" Rin questions as I smile down at her, while A-Un lands on the ground.
"Because knowing how Sesshomaru is, he'd much rather gain the Tessaiga through his own efforts," I respond, while jumping down from A-Un, and once again holding my hand out to Rin.
"Why don't we, in the meantime, find something to eat?" I suggest causing Rin to nod with a smile.
"Alright!" Rin chirps as she grabs my hand, and I help her off A-Un. Using my other hand, I grab A-Un's reins and begin leading him towards a clearing up ahead. Seeing a stream, Rin flashes a bright smile and points to it.
"We should give him a bath first, I think it's been a bit since his last one," Rin explains, and I chuckle.
"Good idea, Rin." I nod as we walk over and lead A-Un into the stream, causing Rin to grab out a rag from the pouch on A-Un's saddle. Dipping the rag into the stream, Rin begins to rub it along A-Un skillfully. "It still surprises me how such a young child can be so capable..." I think as I watch her intently, but then a slightly angry expression appears on Rin's face.
"Are you okay, Rin?" I ask, causing her to turn to me, but then something behind me catches her eye.
"That's a good idea!" Rin chirps as she jumps off the stone she had climbed up to wash A-Un.
"What is?" I ask, but she then begins running.
"Come on, you two!" Rin calls out, causing me to grab onto A-Un's reins and rush after her. "She runs quite fast..." I think as I finally see her bend down into the water.
"Need help?" I question, causing Rin to lift and turn to me with a bunch of flowers in her hands.
"Lilies?" I ask, and Rin nods with a smile.
"I've picked all these flowers for Lord Sesshomaru. We'd better go." Rin answers as she walks over to A-Un and me. Suddenly, a restless breeze blows through, making a chill run up my spine, causing me to pick Rin up and place her on A-Un's back.
"Rin, I want you and A-Un to go back to Jaken." I insist, causing her to look down at me with a confused expression.
"(Y/N)?" Rin asks as I quickly look over towards the trees to feel a sinister presence.
"A-UN GO!" I instruct A-Un, who flies up in the sky as Rin stares back at me with a concerned expression, but I don't turn my attention away as I place my hand on the hilt of my sword.
"Show yourself," I demand, then a scoff sounds out as I see Kagura walk out from behind a tree.
"I'm surprised you realized I was here..." Kagura trails off as I glared at her.
"What do you want, Kagura?" I question as I go to draw my sword, but she holds up her fan towards me.
"I'll take your head faster than you can draw your sword, (Y/N)." Kagura responds, causing me to slowly take my hand from my sword, but I don't dare take my eyes off of her.
"I figured you were out and about thanks to the restless wind... So, what is it you want from me?" I ask, causing Kagura to stare back at me.
"Naraku has ordered me to take you to the castle," Kagura answers with an annoyed expression. "Naraku wants me back at the castle?" I wonder as I feel a bit lighter for some reason, but then shake my head with a scoff.
"Order or not. I'm not going back without a fight, Kagura." I point out as I stood my ground. "I won't be swayed or fall into another one of his traps." I think as a smirk to flash across Kagura's face.
"I thought you'd say that!" Kagura bellows as a blade of air rushes towards me, causing me to hold out my hand. However, Sesshomaru appears as I hear the sound of metal clashing.
"Wind Sorcerous Kagura." Sesshomaru's voice rang out, and Kagura scoffed.
"I see you've found a guard dog, (Y/N)." Kagura remarks as we glare at each other.
"He won't be able to save you for long," Kagura adds as a strong gust of wind blows, forcing me to shut my eyes.
(To Rin)
"Master Jaken, I found you!" Rin calls out as A-Un flies down to Jaken, who had the Tessaiga wrapped in Inuyasha's robe of the Fire-Rat.
"Rin, what are you doing here?" Jaken asks as A-Un lands next to him.
"(Y/N) told me to come find you. I think she's in danger!" Rin proclaims with a worried expression, causing Jaken to put on a confused one.
"Stop right there!" Songo's voice rings out, making Jaken look up.
"I've been found out! Rin, hurry and take this to Lord Sesshomaru at once!" Jaken demands as he throws the Tessaiga up to her, causing Rin to put on a concerned expression.
"But what about (Y/N)?" Rin questions Jaken, who shakes his head.
"That Mortal will be fine!" Jaken responds as Songo and Kirara rush towards them.
"Hiraikotsu!" Songo shouts as she throws her Hiraikotsu towards Jaken, who presses his staff firmly into the ground, making fire breathe from it.
"Hurry and go to Lord Sesshomaru, while I hold off this Demon Slayer!" Jaken orders as he hits A-Un's rear with his staff, causing the Demon to sound out and rise into the air.
"You're not going anywhere," Songo states as she goes to rush after A-Un, but is nearly hit by fire, and Kirara flies backwards.
(To (Y/N) )
Sesshomaru and I walked through the forest in a heavy silence, but then he stopped. I stop and look down to see that we are back in the purple flower field. However, it was different this time, the flowers glowed underneath the moon's gaze.
"It's beautiful..." I trail off as I bend down to take a closer look at the flowers.
"These flowers shine their brightest under the moonlight," Sesshomaru informs me as I look up and see him staring at me. Quickly, my gaze moves back down to the flowers.
"This might be rude or presumptuous of me, but... Why did you decide to take me along once again?" I ask as I glance back up to see Sesshomaru turn away and look up at the moon. The wind starts to blow through the field, but it is gentle, unlike before. "This looks as if it's a portrait with Sesshomaru standing in the middle of the flowers staring at the moon... Beautiful, yet lonely." I think as Sesshomaru looks down at the ground.
"You stay or leave is your decision," Sesshomaru informs as he begins to walk through the flower field. "He must have heard the conversation between Kagura and me." I think as I follow after Sesshomaru.
(To Rin)
"Master Jaken!" Rin calls out as A-Un begins descending towards Jaken, who looks up with an angry expression.
"Rin, you fool! Why did you return?!" Jaken exclaims as Rin, who has a worried expressions throws the flowers out of her hand and reaches out to Jaken as soon as A-Un lands.
"Come on. Take my hand." Rin insists.
"Rin!" Jaken shouts as he grabs onto her hand.
"Hold on tight. I've got you." Rin assures as she throws the Tessaiga out of her hand and pulls Jaken onto A-Un.
"Rin, but why did you come back?" Jaken asks with a confused expression.
"Huh? Because I couldn't help but worry about you, Jaken." Rin answers, making Jaken's eyes widen.
"Um... Oh right. Where's the Tessaiga?" Jaken questions, but Rin gasps as she looks down, making Jaken look down as well.
"I don't believe this!" Jaken gasps as he practically faints with his eyes open against A-Un.
(To Naraku)
(Naraku's POV)
I clenched my already made fist thanks to the image Kanna's mirror showed of (Y/N) and Sesshomaru walking through a meadow of purple flowers. "You're with Sesshomaru again, even though you dared to make I, Naraku, feel such emotions... How far will you go to defy me, butterfly?" I wonder as I glare down at my clenched fist, but then a grin spreads across my lips.
"I'll just have to get rid of him, then we'll see if you defy me or not." I sneered as I turned to Kanna, who stood up from the floor.
(To Rin)
Both Rin and Jaken were standing in a field of melons.
"They all look delicious. Which one should I choose, Master Jaken?" Rin asks as she looks over to Jaken, who was sulking.
"Who cares? Leave me alone!" Jaken demands with his back to her.
"Maybe I'll have two or 3, but I also need to make sure I grab one for (Y/N), too," Rin states as she then picks up one.
"This one is sweet, too. Watch over the other ones for me, ok, Jaken?" Rin requests as Jaken glances back at her, but then looks down at the melons, only to feel a strong gust of wind blow through.
"It's you again!" Jaken calls out as he sees Kagura land a few feet away from him and Rin.
"Sesshomaru can be so careless, taking his eyes off his ward," Kagura remarks as she blows Jaken back and then disappears along with Rin.
"Rin!? Rin! RIN!" Jaken screams.
