Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

In a dimly lit room.

On the chair in front of the computer desk, an obese young man lay slumped, his body limp as if asleep.

The pale light of the computer screen illuminated his face.

He wore thick glasses, his skin dotted with pimples from irregular habits. His hair was long and greasy, clumped together, with dandruff and oil clearly visible—obviously, it hadn't been washed in a long time.

The boy's body twitched, as though waking from a dream.

A few seconds later, Tanaka Masao frowned, the fat on his cheeks trembling slightly.

He suddenly opened his eyes, sat up from the chair, gasped for air, and muttered with lingering fear:

"Scared… I was so scared. I dreamed I was a fat otaku who got bullied every day—but it was only a dream."

But as soon as he said that, Tanaka Masao realized something was wrong.

"Why is my voice so dull?"

It was then that he noticed the environment around him.

A dim room, the only light coming from the glowing computer screen.

On the monitor was a beautiful two-dimensional girl, but the game had already reached the settlement screen, leaving only a lingering sense of pity for her fate.

By the faint glow of the screen, Tanaka Masao saw a few crumpled tissues scattered on the desk, along with several books. Their covers carried pictures similar to those on the computer.

The strange vitality in the air made his mind feel unusually clear, and his brow furrowed.

Unable to believe what he was seeing, he slowly stretched out his hand.

Fat. A little grimy.

This was definitely not his hand.

Looking down, he saw a huge belly. He slapped it hard.

A crisp smack rang out.

Yes, a proper big belly.

The sharp sting spreading from his stomach made it undeniable—he had really been reincarnated.

He quietly pulled up his pants, leaned back on the chair, closed his eyes, and tried to calm down as he pieced things together.

How did he end up here?

It seemed… a typical truck accident?

But the memory was vague, blurred, almost unreachable.

As for that so-called dream earlier—it wasn't just a dream. It was the memory of this body's original owner, which he had experienced in dream form.

The original owner was Japanese, born and raised in Chiba Prefecture.

He had just turned eighteen this year~~~

His parents were both ordinary workers. Life was comfortable, and the family was harmonious.

But the original owner himself had issues.

He had been overweight since childhood, with average looks, a sluggish temperament, and a timid, introverted personality.

In a country where school bullying was severe, someone like him was an easy target.

Back in elementary school, boys would bully him for fun—pushing him, hitting him, then running off laughing.

He was clumsy and slow; when he tried to fight back, he couldn't catch anyone.

Once, when he attempted to retaliate, he slipped and fell, making the others laugh even harder, without restraint.

Over time, he grew more withdrawn and cowardly.

Later, he discovered the two-dimensional world and naturally became an otaku, indulging in that false beauty to find spiritual comfort.

As for why he had been reincarnated—it was because the original owner indulged too much in masturbation and died suddenly, leaving his body open for another soul.

······

After sorting through these memories, Tanaka Masao sighed, his expression darkening slightly.

In his previous life, he hadn't been especially good-looking, just ordinary—but at least his body was in good shape.

He had been nearly 1.8 meters tall, weighing 65 kilograms, a slim build with faint muscular lines.

But now…

His height hadn't changed much, around 1.75 meters—still above average.

But his weight? Over 100…

Kilograms!

This was seriously overweight. Not only ugly, but unhealthy, likely leading to all sorts of problems.

Still, it wasn't without its benefits.

Tanaka Masao slapped his belly.

It was just soft fat, not muscle, but weight was weight—there was still some strength in it.

And fat did make him more resistant to beatings.

Maybe that was why he had been bullied before?

The punches didn't hurt much, and the fat cushioned the blows.

Thinking about it, that seemed likely.

Still, he silently made a plan to lose weight.

Even if he didn't have the willpower later, the thought itself was necessary.

After all, doesn't every fat person think about losing weight?

Pushing these thoughts aside, Tanaka Masao's mind cleared.

The next moment a voice rang in his ears.

[Ding, system loading…]

Tanaka Masao's eyes widened as the computer screen in front of him flickered.

The previous display vanished, replaced by a long progress bar.

As the bar filled rapidly, he felt as though he was connecting to something deep in the darkness.

For a moment he froze—then joy filled him.

"Is this the system that appears in the novels that I used to read? Am I dreaming?"

Reincarnated, and right away a system appeared. Isn't this amazing?

Although it's hard to believe, what's happening right in front of him is undeniable.

But his excitement lasted only seconds before doubt crept in.

[Wait, shouldn't the system appear directly in my mind?

Why is it showing up on the computer? Is this just a system update?]

He wasn't sure, and silently prayed it really was a cheat system.

Fortunately, the progress bar finished quickly. Four bright red words appeared on the screen:

[Emotional System]

Tanaka Masao's mouth twitched. "Why does this font look so familiar? I swear I've seen it somewhere.

System, can you hear me?"

[I'm here, host.]

"Why are you in the computer? Can I only talk to you through this thing? What if it breaks?"

[Don't worry, host. This system can freely choose its carrier—computer, phone, book—and it can also appear directly in your mind.]

[Using the computer is simply based on your living habits, matching your preferred way of operating.]

"So that's it… pretty thoughtful of you."

Tanaka Masao grabbed the mouse and clicked through the interface.

The layout was like a game system—easy to understand at a glance.

The system's currency was called Fall Value, which could be exchanged for various goods.

But since his Fall Value was still zero, the shop button was grayed out.

There was also a backpack feature.

It could store items obtained from the system.

One slot was already filled: the novice gift pack given to every beginner.

Without hesitation, Tanaka Masao clicked to open it.
