Chapter 72 - Chapter 72: SEED Activation, Zhou Tianming [Sure Hit] Slices Bullets

"Evasive maneuvers! Evade!"

Gregg shot up from his chair, eyes wide with terror as he screamed.

"Can't do it!" The pilot desperately turned the steering wheel, but the warship moved as slow as a turtle. "The earlier Rocket Propelled Grenade damaged the thrusters! We're too late!"

"Ah!!"

Gregg panicked and bolted toward the exit.

The next second, a blue electric light struck the slender 'neck' of the towering bridge, with solid projectiles piercing through it before vanishing into the horizon.

Boom! The 'neck' exploded, flames gushing out, followed by thick black smoke.

The bridge shook violently as people screamed in terror.

Moments later, the tremors ceased, and the bridge remained intact.

The crew inside broke into relieved cheers, their faces lighting up with joy.

Gregg clenched his fists, his face flushed red with fury as he roared, "Main gun, lock on! Continuous fire! Fire! Level that area to the ground!"

The weapons officer, face twisted in rage, adjusted the main gun's aim.

...

In the distance, aboard the Black Tortoise, Wei Jun slammed his fist onto the control panel, smashing the keyboard into a dented mess.

"Damn it! Damn it all!"

Covered in blood, he bellowed in frustration.

...

On the Ohmus bridge, Gregg shoved the weapons officer aside and took his seat.

"Die! Just die!"

When the electronic crosshair on the screen turned from red to green, he laughed maniacally and pressed the trigger with his thumb.

"Above! Something's coming from above!"

The radar operator paled as he shouted, "An object is descending rapidly from the sky—targeting the bridge!"

Gregg froze, tossing the trigger aside and yelling, "Whatever it is, shoot it down!"

...

The Rocket propelled the spacesuit directly above the warship before detaching as its fuel depleted.

The spacesuit transitioned from ascent to freefall, flipping headfirst toward the bridge.

"Hahaha—"

Li Chi laughed wildly, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, yet he remained oblivious, glaring fixedly at the bridge below.

"Gregg! Go to hell!"

The Ohmus' upper deck opened, launching dozens of Missiles.

The twin-barreled autocannons on the deck roared, unleashing a storm of bullets.

Below, Zhou Tianming watched the scene on the computer screen—the rain of bullets and Missiles descending like a downpour.

He took a deep breath, an inexplicable sensation surging within him.

"Bring it on."

In his Mindpower space, a black seed trembled before exploding violently.

His deep brown pupils contracted into pinpoints, his expression completely blank.

The world in his eyes slowed to a crawl.

In the sky, the small magazine pod on the left shoulder of the spacesuit opened with a thunderous explosion, the entire pod detonating violently.

Dozens, hundreds of black spherical projectiles surged downward, densely covering all the space ahead.

The next moment, bullets and missiles collided with the spherical projectiles, erupting in deafening explosions.

The roaring blasts merged into a continuous cacophony.

Amid the flames, the spacesuit shot through unscathed.

...

Inside the warship, Gregg bellowed, "Keep firing the missiles! Shoot him down!"

"It's too late! He's too close!"

"What about the autocannons?! Aim and fire everything!"

...

Accompanied by the sound of mechanical rotation, the twin-barreled autocannon swept across with long trails of fire, bullets flying toward their target.

[Sure Hit] activated!

The world split into two, phantom images of the future flashing before his eyes.

The spacesuit's right arm pulled back the pile driver, charging it, while the left hand drew a blade armor plate from its waist and raised it as a shield.

The bullets came.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The left arm swung at blinding speed, the blade becoming a blur as it deflected every autocannon round.

Sparks erupted inches from the spacesuit's front, not a single bullet slipping through the storm of deflections.

...

"Impossible! Impossible!"

Gregg stared at the display screen, screaming madly at the sight of bullets being sliced midair.

...

Then, the left arm couldn't withstand the rapid swings and the recoil from the bullets—sparks burst from the elbow, and its movement faltered.

Bullets instantly broke through the blade's defense, shattering the forearm into fragments.

A moment later, the shoulder erupted in sparks, the entire arm going limp and swaying backward in the airflow.

On the bridge, Gregg's pale face twisted into a grin.

Inside the spacesuit, Li Chi laughed wildly.

One breath later.

The spacesuit's right arm, wielding the massive pile driver, swung forward with devastating force.

Boom!

With a deafening impact, the spacesuit landed atop the bridge, the steel spike of the pile driver piercing deep into the warship's external armor.

Then, the gears inside the pile driver began to turn.

A split second later, flames burst from its rear—the spike drove through the armor, leaving only a stub protruding outside.

Below, Zhou Tianming pressed the enter key without expression.

Fire erupted inside the pile driver, a rapid series of explosions tearing through the spacesuit's right arm and burrowing deep into the warship's armor.

...

On the bridge, Gregg stared fixedly at the ceiling. After the first explosion left no visible damage, a smirk crept onto his face.

Boom!

A second, closer impact shook the room—Gregg flinched, his smile freezing.

A hole tore open in the ceiling, the silver tip of a steel spike glinting coldly in the dim light.

Exhaling in relief, Gregg's lips curled into a smirk.

Then—flames surged from the spike's puncture point, and the bridge's ceiling exploded in a thunderous blast.

Gregg and the surrounding crew were hurled against the walls, groaning in pain.

At the same time, a figure over two meters tall dropped from above.

He crashed heavily onto the floor, blood seeping from the cracks in the spacesuit's shattered inner armor, pooling rapidly within seconds.

Gregg, bleeding from his head, staggered up and drew his sidearm, emptying the magazine into the spacesuit.

"Come on! Kill me, you bastard! You're just a dog crawling in the mud—why?! Why?! Why won't you just die?!"

The broken inner armor couldn't stop the bullets—Li Chi's chest bloomed with blood as he collapsed heavily.

Yet he smiled, his remaining right hand pressing the detonator clenched tightly in his grip.

"Goodbye, my brother."

The spacesuit's legs bulged and burst, the high explosives packed inside detonating.

Boom!

Gregg, standing mere steps away, was instantly torn apart.

The massive explosion engulfed the entire bridge in a split second, flames erupting through shattered windows.

From a distance, it looked like a towering torch ablaze.

...

"Farewell, my brother."

Li Chi's final words echoed from the computer speakers.

Zhou Tianming's vision swam, the world snapping back into focus.

His dilated pupils contracted as sorrow etched across his face: "Goodbye."

Tilting his head back through the shattered factory roof, he watched the warship above lurch violently. Its bow dipped sharply as it plummeted downward.

Within seconds, the ship's nose struck ground with a thunderous impact. A towering dust cloud erupted as the earth split and buildings collapsed.

The vessel plowed forward, carving a massive scar across the steel landscape.

Boom! Boom!

Its momentum spent, the hull crashed fully onto the terrain, shaking the entire landmass violently.

Outside the factory, metal components clattered to the ground as nearby shelves leaped from their foundations before toppling over with their contents.

Crash—

Zhou Tianming barely dashed outside when the entire factory imploded behind him, leaving only a few steel beams anchored in the foundation still standing.

Simultaneously, the distant dust storm surged forward like a sandstorm, swallowing him whole.

Darkness enveloped the world as howling winds threatened to lift him off his feet.

Scrambling to the collapsed factory's remains, he pressed against a steel beam and clung for dear life.
