Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Despair

He heard the cry again and this time it sounded more desperate. ' Damn it' he really wanted to continue watching this fight but he didn't want the cute rabbit to die.

Besides if something could threaten that rabbit it was most definitely rank 1 because if it was rank 2 the rabbit would not even get a chance to cry, that means potential points for him.

He ran as fast as his little feet could carry him, which was very fast, atleast twice the speed of a leopard by his estimate. It didn't take him long to get there.

Now he knew why the rabbit was screaming so much, it was not that it was in danger, the others were instead. Opposite the rabbit was a giant black snake 10 metres long and as thick as a bucket.

It mouth was lined with sharp needle like teeth and poison dripped from each of them. Both creatures were moving very fast, the snakes striking speed almost matched rabbit but still fell short.

However the rabbits attacks did not do any demage to the snake either. All it kicks managed to do was to push it back. He decided to jump in there.

Just as the snake was about to attack the rabbit again he jumped and rammed it head with his claws. Considering how much stronger he had grown he had expected to pierce through it skull.

However his claws were barely able to pierce through it scales. This caught him by surprise, although he had wounded it the demage was nothing to something of this size.

The snake released a shrieking hiss unlike one would expect from a snake then turned it fury at him. It struck at him with blinding speed but he was stronger and faster than when he fought the rabbit.

Although he still could not match that speed he was fast enough to react. He coated his claws with poison and met the snake head on.

When it claw met it head there was a boom and both were sent reeling backwards. The snakes attack were heavy enough to match his strength.

He turned to look at the rabbit and it was standing there watching them in confusion. He ignored it and continued fighting the snake.

Although it appeared as if they were evenly matched he actually had the advantage. He hadn't suffered a single wound since the fight started but the snake was riddled with them.

The only reason it seemed fine was because it size made the wounds look minor. Hours passed, their fight had taken them a few kilometres away.

At some point the rabbit had joined the fight, with both them working together they were able to push the snake away from the other rabbits.

One thing he will give this snake was it persistence, no matter how much they beat it up it still won't give up. During this fight he had also noticed something.

The snake didn't seem to be as smart as the rabbit and this was not like the difference between the intelligence of a crow and a dog. The rabbit seemed to have really high intelligence.

He was getting tired, this fight had lasted for way to long. This giant noodle seem have an endless stamina and the most vexing thing was that it was highly resistant to his poison.

It been hours since he injected it yet it doesn't seem to slow down at all. He dodged to the side and slashed it face with his tail leaving a tiny bleeding wound.

Just as it was about to attack him again the rabbit kicked it head. He didn't waste the opportunity and grabbed it tail with his mouth, spun around and rammed it into a tree.

They had done this multiple time over the dozen hours that had passed. They had broken and shattered all the trees hundreds of metres around them yet the snake still refused to die.

( WARNING: HOST IS RUNNING OUT OF TIME) he was disturbed by a sudden system notification, he almost ignored it but chose to check anyways and he was glad he did.

He had almost forgotten about the time limit, he decided to check how much time was left. 00:29:53 ' 30 minutes?, Shit, i need to end this quickly'

He has been playing it safe this entire time, avoiding the snakes attack the best he could and because of that he also couldn't deliver any significant demage.

Currently the snake was attacking the rabbit, it rapped it huge body around the tree the rabbit was just on and twisted. The tree as thick as two grown adults snapped like a twig.

Being caught between that doesn't seem like a good idea but it was certainly better than certain death. He jumped at the snake and bit it just below it neck.

It hissed in pain and tried to twist it body around him but his small body made that hard. Due to his position it couldn't bite him either.

So it rammed it body on the ground, he felt his organs shake but he did not let go. He dug his claws into it and injected all the poison he had.

Even though he knew it was resistant if not outright immune. The snake dragged him across the ground and tried to shake him off but he dug his claws deeper.

It rammed him on trees and rocks so much that he almost blanked out from the blunt trauma and pain but he still did not let go. The clock ticked, occasionally he would check the countdown but that only made him more anxious.

He bit harder, tried to rip it scales with his claws but it large body made whatever wound he delivered insignificant and it scales were very hard.

He even tried to dig out it eyes but he was too small to reach it eyes while biting it neck. As time passed he grew more and more desperate.

His heart started beating faster and faster, adrenaline rushed through his every cell, he could even feel his blood flowing through his veins.

Suddenly like a blooming flower an image appeared in his head, it was of a red river and in this river was a purple substance trying to flow through it but it was blocked by something.

He felt an uncontrollable desire to help this substance flow so he imagined it, he pictured it and willed it to be. Although the river had not changed the substance flew smoother and faster.

The snake screeched so loudly he felt his eardrums shake violently then it fell down and stopped moving. He only had five minutes left so he didn't waste time and started eating.

He desperately wished to eat faster but it scales made that hard. In his desperate desire he imagined his teeth digging through the scales like they were butter and so they did.

He did not have time to dwell on what just happened, all he wanted right now was to eat. He finished before the time was over but when he checked his points despair filled him.

9.8 evolution points, that how many points he had. He checked the countdown and his despair grew. 10, 9, 8, 7.... With only a few seconds left, there was nothing he could do so he resigned himself to his fate.

' It was short but I'm glad I had a second chance, I just wished I could've seen you again' an image of a beautiful woman appeared in his head then he closed his eyes and waited. "Squirk"
