Chapter 336: Fierce Battle
"Naruto!"
Obito raised his shield and moved to Naruto's side. While he managed to block the Kamehameha aimed at Naruto, various parts of the village still suffered under its devastating onslaught.
Aside from the outer structures, all other buildings in the Hidden Leaf Village were reduced to rubble.
"The village…"
As the Dark Shunhi's attack came to an end, Obito lowered his shield. Naruto looked around at the ruins of the village, unconsciously clenching his fists.
Dark Shunhi slowly descended from the sky, landing not far from Naruto and Obito.
"This is the peace you wanted?"
"It's nothing more than destruction before reconstruction."
"Captain, stall him for me."
Naruto turned to Obito and said.
Obito hefted the heavy shield in his hand, nodded at the Dark Shunhi before him.
"Looks like Naruto has figured out a way to deal with me. But just in case, I won't give you the chance!" Staring at Obito charging toward him with his shield raised, Dark Shunhi leapt into the air. "Rasengan!"
Obito instinctively raised his shield, but the Rasengan wasn't aimed at him—it was meant for Naruto.
Dark Shunhi used Obito's shield as a springboard to accelerate further, lunging at Naruto.
"Damn it!"
Without time to think, Obito reflexively hurled his shield.
The Rasengan hit Naruto, who had closed his eyes, while the following shield struck Dark Shunhi.
"Are you okay, Naruto?"
Catching the rebounding shield, Obito rushed to Naruto, who was lying face-down on the ground, and helped him up, guilt written all over his face.
After all, he had just promised to buy Naruto time—only for Dark Shunhi to immediately seize the opportunity to strike.
"I'm fine, Captain," Naruto said as Obito helped him up. "Thanks to Kurama's timely warning… Captain, watch out!"
Dark Shunhi, also hit by the shield, climbed to his feet. The injuries on his body were rapidly healing as he launched another attack.
Even with Naruto's warning, Obito didn't have time to react. A punch landed squarely on his face, sending him flying.
"Captain!"
"Maybe worry about yourself first!" Dark Shunhi's right hand began to glow with power, the sound of a dragon's roar echoing faintly. "Dragon Fist!"
He threw a punch, and a golden dragon surged from his right fist, roaring toward Naruto.
Naruto raised both hands and grabbed the dragon's head. Even with the Nine Tails' chakra protecting him, a stinging pain shot through his fingers.
Even as the Nine Tails' claws dug into the earth, Naruto couldn't stop himself from being pushed back by the golden dragon.
With a thunderous roar, the dragon Naruto was gripping exploded.
"Naruto!"
Sakura instantaneously appeared beside the collapsed Naruto and began healing him.
"Don't even think about getting near Naruto!"
Obito, having been knocked back, raised his shield and charged at Dark Shunhi—both to stop him from killing Naruto and to buy time for Naruto to recover.
Dark Shunhi kicked Obito's shield, producing a deafening boom. Though the shield blocked the attack, Obito nearly lost his grip on it.
Obito deflected Shunhi's kick and countered with a punch to his abdomen.
"I'm not just some guy with a shield!"
The blow forced Shunhi to take a small step back, grunting from the impact.
Shunhi quickly adjusted his stance and retaliated with a punch to Obito's face, sending him flying once again. Despite having a body enhanced by a super soldier serum, Obito lost a tooth from the hit.
Shunhi slowly walked toward the unconscious Naruto and Sakura, who was still healing him.
"Damn it!"
Sakura stopped the treatment and stood in front of Naruto, blocking Shunhi's advance. She released her Yin Seal and activated the Strength of a Hundred Technique.
The seal spread across her forehead. In this state, even fatal injuries could be rapidly healed—but at the cost of her own life force.
"Monster Strength Punch!"
Sakura charged forward and threw a serious punch.
Shunhi caught her fist with his left hand. As the force exploded from her fair-skinned fist, the ground beneath his feet cracked and crumbled.
"What?!"
Sakura looked up, stunned.
Aside from the damaged ground, Shunhi's appearance remained unchanged, as if her attack had done nothing at all.
"Kaio-Ken—Triple Kamehameha!"
Golden chakra around Shunhi began to shift into red as he layered the Kaio-Ken atop the Kamehameha to drastically enhance its power.
Blue energy gathered in Shunhi's hands and blasted toward Sakura.
Because Shunhi had seized her left hand, Sakura was unable to dodge.
The triple Kamehameha vaporized half of Sakura's body. Staring at what seemed to be a lifeless Sakura, Shunhi casually tossed aside what remained.
"Since you're the main character of this world, I'm sorry—but you'll have to die here…"
Shunhi approached Naruto, who still lay unconscious on the ground. Naruto's brow twitched, and his fingers moved faintly—it looked like he was about to wake up.
"Don't… come… near… Naruto…"
Sakura rose to her feet. Even though half of her body was gone, by burning through her life force, she regenerated rapidly. She forced her body to adapt to the newly recovered half and immediately launched another attack against Shunhi.
She staggered forward toward him.
"...Spirit Slash!"
A disc-shaped energy projectile with cutting power formed in Shunhi's hand and was hurled toward Sakura.
"Sakura!!!"
Naruto, who had just regained consciousness, saw the scene unfold—Sakura, stumbling toward Shunhi, was sliced in half at the waist by the Spirit Slash.
"Oh? Awake already?"
Shunhi raised an eyebrow and kicked back the incoming shield flying at him.
"Hey! Did you forget about me?!"
Covered in wounds, Obito caught the rebounding shield and stumbled several steps before steadying himself, glaring at Shunhi.
"Another one looking to die."
Another Spirit Slash formed in Shunhi's hand—this one capable of splitting into six. Even if Obito's shield could block one, the remaining five would cut him to pieces.
"Captain! He's after me! Take the villagers and get them out of here!"
Naruto, still lying on the ground, shouted toward Obito.
