Shibi's insects surged forward, black clouds engulfing her vision. Thousands of kikaichū swirled in coordinated formations, aiming for her chakra points, her very life force. Pakura scowled, releasing more orbs, scattering them wide to keep the bugs at bay. Each blast scorched dozens, the battlefield stinking of burned chitin.
But the insects kept coming.
One swarm coiled low, another from above, boxing her in. Pakura clicked her tongue and released Shakuton: Sōryū Bōka (Scorch Release: Twin Dragon Collapse)... two massive scorching dragons roared from her hands, vaporizing entire swathes of kikaichū and forcing Shibi back with the heat alone.
Still, he advanced. Each step deliberate, calm, unshaken. The kikaichū re-formed behind him, relentlessly trying to close the gap. His goal wasn't to overwhelm... it was to drain her chakra, chip by chip.
Pakura frowned. "Persistent insect…"
Their clash became a rhythm... scorching orbs incinerating, insects regrouping, over and over. Sweat began to pour down Pakura's temple, the toll of her chakra drain showing.
And Shibi… though burns spread across his arms and his breath grew ragged, he did not stop. "Even insects," he murmured, "can bring down a giant… by never yielding."
Pakura's patience snapped. She poured a massive swell of chakra, forming four blazing orbs, brighter and hotter than before. "Then let's see you stop this!"
She hurled them all at once.
Shibi's kikaichū swarmed forward in suicidal waves, hundreds of thousands dying instantly, their bodies burning to ash. The orbs punched through the wall of insects, one by one slamming into his defenses. He staggered, his insects straining to absorb chakra, their wings screeching in agony.
The last orb broke through. It struck him full force.
An explosion of heat ripped across the field, Shibi screamed, a sound raw and human, before silence fell. His insects scattered wildly, confused, some disintegrating in the blaze.
When the smoke cleared, Shibi was on one knee, coat burned away, body blackened with scorch marks. His kikaichū crawled desperately over him, but their chakra was too drained to save him.
Pakura lowered her hands, panting, her chest heaving. For the first time, she looked rattled. That fight had taken more out of her than she'd admit.
Shibi raised his head, barely able to stand, his voice rough but steady. "Even if I fall… insects always… leave their mark."
Pakura blinked... then felt it. A crawling sensation across her leg, her side, her back. Shibi's last command had sent a portion of his kikaichū to burrow under her defenses, clinging tight, draining chakra even now.
Her eyes widened in fury. She blasted them off with another scorch orb, screaming in pain as their mandibles tore away, but she had to waste precious chakra to do it.
Shibi collapsed forward. His body twitched once… then lay still.
But he had not gone quietly. Pakura wiped her face, shaking, realizing her reserves were already diminished, her stamina cut. She had won... but the insects had bitten deep.
Pakura, wiping sweat and blood from her lips, staggered back toward the command hill. She fumbled inside her sash, remembering the tiny parcel Chiyo had pressed into her palm before the confronting the insect leader. A bitter-smelling vial. A few hardened tablets. She didn't hesitate... she swallowed the antidote, chased it with two chakra pills, and felt her depleted reserves flicker alive once more.
Pakura gritted her teeth. She had underestimated the Aburame's poisons, but Chiyo had not. Of course she hadn't. Chiyo was the Sand's poison mistress... if there was anyone who could counter Aburame toxins, it was her.
Pakura clenched her fists, heat beginning to glow around her again. She would rejoin Chiyo soon. But first, she had to catch her breath.
--
The battlefield reeked of smoke, scorched earth, and the bitter tang of poison. Konoha's east flank was struggling... the Aburame clan head Shibi had fallen to Pakura's scorching flames, and low-level Hyūga units were dwindling as poison needles tore through their rotations.
On the front, Chiyo herself was frowning. Her puppets flickered around her like phantoms, senbon needles raining in arcs meant not just to kill but to control. She had fought many battles, against many clans... but the Hyūga were a rare breed. Their eyes could see through every trick, every hidden weapon compartment, every angle of her puppet's strikes.
Still, she had learned something already. These two brothers fought side by side, perfectly in sync, but… one of them mattered more.
Chiyo's mind ticked like a machine. The Hyūga have their Main House and their Branch House. Only the Main carries true authority. And only their eyes… are worth taking.
But she had a problem. Both brothers looked identical at first glance... the same long hair tied back, the same headbands pulled low to cover their foreheads, the same Byakugan veins bulging as they scanned every movement of her puppets. They dressed in near-matching armor and fought with eerily synchronized taijutsu. She couldn't tell which one was the heir.
That uncertainty gnawed at her, she did not want to mistakenly kill the main heir. She still has yet to reveal her secret technique.
She released a new barrage of poison-tipped senbon, chakra threads snapping with precision. Hundreds of needles whistled through the air, converging on one target: Hizashi.
He immediately spun into Hakkeshō Kaiten (Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation), chakra bursting from his body in a perfect defensive dome. The needles ricocheted, bouncing away, scattering across the dirt. But Chiyo was relentless. Another volley, and another, forcing Hizashi to keep spinning.
The perfect defense wasn't perfect forever. Chiyo smirked faintly, watching as Hizashi's dome began to falter, slower and slower with each spin. His breath grew ragged... rotation burned stamina fast.
Finally, he stopped, panting. And in that moment, he pushed out a blast of Hakke Kūshō (Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm), a focused shockwave that blew away the rest of her needles.
Chiyo clicked her tongue.

A/N: Pakura vs shibi aburame is not even close. But, he is damaging the chiyo's puppets with insects and eating away the chakra threads. Once the insects are on the puppets... it is not easy to remove them. And, the puppets cost a fortune.
So, Chiyo told pakura to handle shibi. Pakura is a natural counter for shibi with scorch release.
