Chapter 60 - Chapter 60 – Oath of Monsters

The wind of the open sea struck Magnus's face like a baptism.

For the first time since the escape, the air was not choked with smoke or screams.

Only the salt, the roar of waves, and the thunderous laughter of giants filled the horizon.

Behind him, Impel Down burned. The Buster Call's cannon fire kept raining but the fortress was already dying.

What they had destroyed could never be undone.

Magnus stood on the colossal deck, Shusui resting against his shoulder, his cloak of lightning fading into a low, crackling hum.

His crew gathered near him , Bullet leaning against the railing with a wolfish grin, the rogue Marine kneeling as if before a commander and the giant still clutching his mast-club, chest heaving as battle fury cooled into confusion.

And before them… stood Dorry and Brogy.

The captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates loomed like living mountains. Saltwater dripped from their weapons, their laughter still booming across the deck. When their eyes fell upon Magnus, however, there was no mockery. Only recognition of strength, of defiance, of someone who had torn chains from the world's throat.

"GEGYAGYAGYAGYA!" Dorry's teeth gleamed as he sheathed his massive sword.

"So it's true. You cut your way out of the World Government's belly. A feat only a fool… or a king could achieve!"

"GEBABABABABABA!" Brogy added, thundering as he slammed his axe into the deck.

Bullet laughed with them, his voice deep and harsh. "Tch. Damn right. We're just getting started."

The rogue Marine stayed silent, his spear planted like a banner at Magnus's side. The giant shifted uneasily, his gaze flicking between the towering Elbaf captains and Magnus, as if torn between instincts and the chain of will that now bound him.

Magnus finally spoke. His voice carried no theatrics, no laughter.

"You came because you heard the roar. You saw the walls break. That was no accident. The age the World Government chained is ending and I…" He lifted Shusui, its black edge gleaming like a shard of night. "…will be the one to carve it open."

The words hung heavy. Even giants, who had laughed at death for a hundred years, went quiet. The crew behind Magnus stiffened, the reality of his conviction pressing down on them like a storm tide.

Then, slowly, Dorry's grin returned. His booming laughter cracked the silence.

"GEGYAGYAGYAGYA! Well spoken, little warrior! You've got the tongue of a king and the eyes of a beast!"

Brogy's laughter joined his.

"GABABABABABABA! We've fought for pride, for honor, for the glory of Elbaf! But to strike against the World itself… that's a battle even giants would remember in song!"

They lowered their weapons, raising tankards the size of houses, their voices echoing across the sea.

"Magnus! From today, the warriors of Elbaf sail with you! Until this sea itself cracks, our axes will answer your roar!"

The Giant Warrior Pirates erupted into cheers, the deck shaking under the stomp of their colossal feet.

Bullet's grin widened. The rogue Marine bowed his head, his loyalty wordless but unbreakable. The giant threw back his head and roared, the sound carrying across the waves like thunder.

Magnus stood unmoved, though his eyes sharpened. His will had gathered monsters, giants, traitors, and titans.

The sea would remember this day not as the fall of a prison but as the birth of something far greater.

He turned his gaze to the horizon, voice low enough only his crew could hear.

"Now the real war begins."

---

The cheering of the giants still rumbled across the sea, their laughter shaking the deck like thunder. Tankards clashed, oaths were shouted, and the prison of Impel Down sank farther into the dark horizon.

Yet in the eye of that storm, Magnus turned inward.

His crew stood before him. A collection of monsters and broken men. Each carried strength enough to shake the world, yet none of them had a place in it.

Until now.

Magnus planted Shusui into the deck, the blade humming with black lightning as he leaned on it. His eyes moved first to the rogue Marine, who still knelt with his spear across his knees.

"You've fought at my side since the cells broke," Magnus said, voice cold but cutting clear through the noise of giants. "You move like a soldier. You kill like a blade that's tasted too much discipline to rust."

The rogue Marine bowed his head lower. "That is what I was, Captain. A soldier of the Navy… until their chains cut deeper than any enemy's steel."

Magnus studied him for a long moment. The man did not flinch under his gaze. Finally, Magnus asked the question.

"Your name."

The Marine raised his head. His eyes were steady, clear, but burdened.

"Kael," he said. His voice was rough, like stone ground by the sea. "Kael Darnath. Once Lieutenant Commander of Marine Garrison 72… now only a weapon that chose to turn."

Magnus's expression did not change. "No. Not a weapon. From this moment, you are my spear. When I carve through the storms ahead, you'll be the point that pierces first."

Kael struck the deck with his fist, the gesture sharp and precise. "Then I swear it, Captain. I am yours to wield."

The words seemed to hang in the air like iron. Even Bullet, leaning back with his wolfish grin, arched a brow.

Magnus's gaze shifted next to the giant.

The massive figure loomed uncertain, chest still streaked with blood from battle. His mast-club rested against his shoulder, but his hands gripped it tight as if unsure whether to hold it as a weapon or a crutch.

"You," Magnus said, his voice like a chain thrown across the distance. "You fought like a beast in the prison. You roared for freedom but nearly drowned in rage. You stood when I called… but I don't command shadows.

Speak. Who are you?"

The giant's throat worked as he swallowed. His voice, when it came, was deep and raw.

"Gryphon," he rumbled. "Once of Elbaf… but I betrayed my kin. I broke the code of giants. For that… they cast me into the sea, and the World Government caged me. I have no name among my people. Only shame."

The laughter of the Giant Warrior Pirates dimmed around them. Dorry and Brogy's gazes turned sharp, weighing every word.

The crew waited.

Magnus did not look away. He stepped closer, his black cloak brushing against the giant's bleeding leg. "Then hear this, Gryphon. You are no exile to me. You are rage unbound. You are a storm the World tried to cage."

He raised Shusui once more, black lightning crawling along its edge as he pointed it upward.

"From this day forward, you are not shame. You are my giant."

For a heartbeat, silence stretched.

Gryphon's massive chest heaved, his fists trembling. Then he sank to one knee the deck groaning under his weight and slammed his hand to the wood.

"Then I am yours, Captain," he growled, voice thick with something between grief and fire. "Let the sea call me Gryphon of Magnus."

The giants of Elbaf roared of approval, their cheers booming over the waves. Dorry and Brogy grinned wide, their earlier wariness melting into laughter.
