Chapter 3 - The struggle begins

Eryndor's newfound powers were both exhilarating and terrifying. He could feel the strength coursing through his veins, the speed and agility that came with being a vampire. But with these powers came a hunger, a thirst for blood that threatened to consume him.

At first, Eryndor struggled to control his powers. He would lash out in anger, his strength getting the better of him. He would stumble, his senses overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of the world around him.

Valois, his maker, was patient with him, teaching him how to harness his powers, how to feed without killing. But Eryndor was a quick learner, and he soon grew frustrated with Valois's caution.

"I don't need your guidance," Eryndor would say, his voice laced with arrogance. "I can handle this on my own."

Valois would smile, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You're not ready, Eryndor. You're still learning. You need to be careful."

But Eryndor wouldn't listen. He would go out into the city, hunting for prey, feeding on whoever crossed his path. And then he would return to Valois, exhausted, hungry, and ashamed.

One night, Eryndor's recklessness almost got him killed. He had fed on a young woman, but she had been more than just a meal. She had been a hunter, armed with stakes and determination.

Eryndor barely escaped with his life, fleeing back to Valois's mansion, battered and bruised.

Valois greeted him with a mixture of disappointment and concern. "Eryndor, you need to learn control. You can't just feed on anyone you want. There are rules, consequences."

Eryndor slumped against the wall, his head in his hands. "I know, Valois. I just... I don't know how to stop."

Valois sighed, his expression softening. "I'll teach you, Eryndor. But you need to listen to me, to trust me. Can you do that?"

Eryndor nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, he could learn to control his powers, to live with this curse. But as he looked up at Valois, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was in over his head.
