Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

At the same time, on the west side of the city, at a recently closed exhibition hall, tap, a girl in a tight, black spandex suit with only her blue eyes visible landed softly on the floor of a room filled with historical artifacts. She immediately backed up against the wall, her eyes darting around as she scanned her surroundings. She noticed several CCTV camera points in the room.

The girl moved nimbly through the cameras' blind spots toward the exit. She poked her head out to check the long corridor stretching to her left and right, then she ran out, moving along the right side of the hallway. Finally, she reached a wide door at the end of the corridor. she slowly opened the door to peek inside. Her eyes lit up with joy.

"Found it," she said to herself, pleased.

In the middle of the room was a glass box protecting a red gem on the forehead of a full-face mask that looked like a robot's face. The girl entered cautiously. Klap, she closed the door behind her, and her eyes once again scanned her surroundings. She took a spray bottle from her belt. Psssh, she sprayed a liquid into the room.

Instantly, a white mist revealed a crisscrossing grid of lasers filling the entire room. Psssh, the girl sprayed the liquid once more, performing stunning acrobatics to avoid getting the lasers in her spray's path. Thanks to her agility and flexible body, she easily got through all the lasers and stood right in front of the glass box.

The girl bent down slightly to examine every aspect of the glass box, looking for traps that were usually set for anyone who wanted to take the bejeweled mask inside. She took out a pair of gloves and put them on. She carefully placed her hands on the right and left sides of the box. Hup, she lifted the box carefully and placed it slowly on the floor.

"Huff... now for the main event," she said to herself.

The girl's hand reached out and took the red-gemmed mask in front of her. Klek, she pried the gem loose and took a microchip from behind it. After that, she put the gem back and placed the mask back in the box. Psiuuu, cklang, the girl fired her grappling gun upward and immediately ascended to the ceiling, passing through the lasers above without touching a single one.

Once she reached the top, she smashed the glass and jumped out. She ran across the roof and fired her grappling hook once again. She attached the rope to her waist and jumped down without hesitation.

When she was almost at the bottom, she unclipped the rope and did a flip, landing on a deserted stretch of sidewalk. After that, she immediately ran into the bushes across the street. She took off her mask, revealing her long hair and beautiful face.

She uncovered a motorcycle she had prepared behind the bushes and put on her helmet. After that, she took off her entire spandex suit, revealing her school uniform underneath. Then she put on her jacket, started the motorcycle, and left.

A short time later, she arrived in the shopping district and parked her motorcycle behind a massage parlor building. She entered through the back door.

"Hi... I'm here," the girl said.

"Oh no... what took you so long, Nicole? What were you doing at school? Hurry, your regular client is waiting in the waiting room," said a middle-aged woman wearing a tight and revealing outfit.

"Okay, boss," Nicole replied.

She went straight to the locker room and opened her locker. She put the microchip inside an envelope and wrapped the envelope in a towel. After that, she changed into her uniform for the parlor. Nicole then walked out to the front, carrying her towel. She saw a man in his thirties, wearing a neat black suit with blond hair, sitting and reading a magazine in the waiting room.

"Hello, Uncle Edward," Nicole greeted him.

"Oh, Nicole, you're here?" Edward asked, lowering his magazine.

"Just got here. Let's go to the usual room," Nicole replied.

"Yes, let's," Edward said, closing his magazine.

They then walked down a hallway where on their left and right were massage booths. Nicole opened one of the booths and motioned for Edward to get ready inside. Then she placed her towel on the massage table and looked at Edward.

"Everything's here, Uncle," Nicole said.

"Oh, okay," Edward replied, taking off his jacket and tie.

Nicole went outside and closed the curtain. She stood with her back to the curtain and took out her smartphone.

Dling, a message came in. The message was a deposit receipt for a sum of money into her account, along with a message:

"Thank you for retrieving the microchip from my informant in the enemy country. Don't you want to come back to the agency?" asked Edward, who had sent the message.

"No, thank you, Uncle. I want to live a quiet and normal life," Nicole replied via message.

"Okay, I'm ready, Nicole," Edward said from behind the curtain.

Nicole turned and went back inside the curtain, then closed it. She saw Edward lying facedown on the massage table.

"Want to give me a special tip as usual, Uncle?" Nicole asked flirtatiously.

"Oh... okay, sure," Edward replied.

"Nice, thanks, Uncle," Nicole said.

Without delaying, Nicole immediately took off all her clothes before starting to massage him. Then she began massaging Edward and did her job for 90 minutes.

A few hours later, Nicole, who had finished her shift, walked home. She was wearing glasses and had her long hair in a single braid in the back, looking like a total nerd. She entered her apartment.

"I'm home," she said, taking off her school shoes.

Her face looked confused because no one answered her. She walked inside and saw that her apartment was empty. All that was left was the sofa, the television, the kitchen equipment, and the bed.

Other than her own personal clothes, there were no more clothes in her closet. She looked up and saw that the backpack that was usually on top of her closet was gone.

"Where's Tyler? Did he leave? Why are his things gone?" she asked herself.

As she walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water from the fridge, she saw a handwritten note on her dining table and a brown envelope with a folder underneath it. She immediately read the note.

"Sorry, Nicole, we're breaking up. I can't be with you. I plan to build my online career, so please forgive me. I hope you're happy. Thanks for supporting me all this time. Goodbye... Tyler."

Kresk. Nicole's hand crumpled the paper. Tears started to well up in her eyes, but her face was furious, not sad. She threw the crumpled paper at the wall, then sat down in a dining chair with her head bowed. She took off her glasses and began to rub her eyes so she wouldn't cry.

"You bastard. I've been supporting him by working like this... what online career? All he did was play PS 5 all day after school... what a useless man. He left on my birthday, too. That's too much," Nicole muttered, her heart aching.

Her eyes moved to the brown envelope with the folder inside. It had her name written on the front but no sender's name or address. She picked up the envelope and took out the folder, then she opened it and read the letter inside. It turned out to be a copy of her grandmother's will for her and her siblings.

"Huh... Grandma never said I had siblings?" she asked, confused.

A white envelope was tucked behind the copy of the will. She opened the envelope and found a key along with a letter. She read the letter inside, which was written by Mike. After she finished reading it,

"Huh... Uncle wants me to go there this Saturday? (thinking) Huh... Tyler's gone, so I don't need to be in the apartment this Saturday. Okay, I can go. (thinking again) I have siblings. That means I'm not alone anymore and I have a family... I wonder what they're like," Nicole muttered to herself with a faint smile.
