Lucas swung his sword a couple of times, seeing that the weight of the sword was perfect he sheathed it without further ado.
"So where the fuck am I?" Lucas cursed as he scanned his surroundings. It was a deserted mountain range, with sharp jagged rocks covering the entrance.
Beside the numerous mountains were a jungle filled with luscious trees. Lucas was slightly further away from these areas, currently being in a beachy type of place.
'Seems like I'm in a crossroads between the jungle, the mountain and the beach.' Lucas thought with a sigh, "Yeah I'm definitely cooked." He muttered grimly.
Lucas turned his head to see the currents of water, pushing and pulling the sand in a continuous motion.
'If I remember right, Melissa and Amanda should be on the ocean side.' Lucas thought as he pointed his sword to his right before turning it towards the mountain ranges, 'And Arnold and Troy at the mountain areas.'
Lucas tilted his head, realising just how much trouble he was in. He wasn't confident in even beating Melissa, and that was the one who never trained and focused her efforts on experiments, so what hope did he have in beating monsters like Amanda, Arnold and Troy.
"Yep, the jungle it is. I just hope I don't encounter Jezebeth while traversing that mosquito-filled hell." Lucas grumbled with a dry smile, as he started walking towards the jungle.
"..."
"Damn this hell-hole, I already want to kill myself and it's barely been ten minutes." Lucas cursed as he shook his back, scattering the darned mosquitoes who were trying to hog his blood.
Lucas swung his sword in a vertical arc, cutting through a curtain of vines and plants. Suddenly, his back quivered, Lucas's eyes snapped to the side, hearing the rustling leaves.
In an instant, Lucas leapt to the side, rolling across the muddy soil.
The spot where Lucas had stood had erupted in a muddy frenzy, dark soil burst into the air in a violent spray.
Lucas's grip on his sword tightened, his eyes darting around the jungle, "The heck was that?!"
A low breeze rippled against him, suddenly Lucas felt a serrated claw pass over his body. He twisted against the ground, somersaulting in the air as the monster drove his claws in an upward strike.
His shirt ripped open, as four light scratches appeared on his chest. Lucas landed on his feet, his breath was ragged as he raised his sword.
His chest stung, warm blood trickled down from his chest, dropping to his boots.
"Great, first mosquitoes, now some SCP freak trying to fillet me. Best day ever." Lucas mockingly growled.
Crunch!
The sound of mud slobbering echoed behind him. Lucas spun and slashed in an arc, his sword cut through empty air as he raised his sword once again.
Almost immediately, Lucas kicked a slag of mud from behind him.
Thud!
Hearing the sound of mud strike against something, Lucas's eyes widened. His instincts flared up, Lucas dropped flat, twisting his foot, Lucas danced to the side of the creature.
Lucas's blade whistled past the monster. Abruptly, the monster shimmered to existence, for a moment Lucas caught the glimpse of the grotesque creature.
It had a slim body resembling that of a purple salamander with dark spots all over its body and a short tail. It had three triangular eyes, each representing one of the primary colours.
Its fingers were serrated and sharp, resembling that of claws and its teeth expanded outwards, groomed in a way to resemble that of a tiger's.
Almost immediately, it vanished after wiping the mud from its body, it was definitely an intelligent creature.
'As long as I can draw blood, I'm safe.' Lucas thought.
Lucas shifted his stance, lowering his centre of gravity as he held his sword tightly around his fingers.
His eyes roamed every inch of the jungle, the vines swayed with the wind as the leaves slowly rustled here and there but the creature had kept moving before Lucas could attack.
"I was never good at catch-catch." Lucas muttered under his breath.
Lucas calmed his beating heart, his ears strained themselves for a flicker of sound. Then, unexpectedly, he heard a snap behind him.
His reflexes kicked in. He spun, ducking just in time as the creature reappeared mid-lunge, the sound of air being sliced rang from the place where his neck had been.
Lucas lashed out, swinging wide. The edge of his blade clipped the creature's shoulder. A splash of purple acid burst into the air, sizzling the bark of a tree.
The monster shrieked, a high-pitched screech that made Lucas's ears bleed. Then, with a ripple, its body shimmered as if trying to vanish again.
"Oh no you don't!" Lucas lunged at the creature, his blade drawn high, but he hit nothing but mud.
"Ah! Damn it!" He cried with frustration.
