Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: "Welcome to Psychological Warfare (Over 5 Yen)"

This entire elaborate scheme.

The deception.

The disguise magic.

The mind games.

The weeks of gaslighting.

All of it.

Over 5 yen.

And Gojo?

He had no regrets.

Step One: The Lover's Game.

If you wanted to fool Li Lu, you had to hit him where it hurt. And by that, Gojo meant messing with his perception of reality.

So, the plan was simple. The classic "girlfriend moves in" scheme.

Subaki, now disguised, would play the role of Gojo's girlfriend who got kicked out of her parents' house and needed a place to stay. Since Lu was just a normal human on Earth—powerless, no abilities, nothing beyond his dimension-hopping (which he hated anyway)—there was no way he'd be able to see through Gojo's disguise magic.

Their plan was foolproof.

The only thing left to do? Get Lu to accept it.

And after that?

Make his life a slow-burning nightmare.

All for 5 yen.

Step Two: The Greatest Distraction.

When Gojo returned to their shared apartment, he found Lu hunched over his laptop, typing like his life depended on it.

For a moment, Gojo thought, Huh. Maybe this guy is finally doing something productive for once.

Curious, he leaned over to check what was on the screen.

And there it was.

An MHA fanbase page.

Lu wasn't working. He was in the middle of an internet war, passionately defending why Deku x Bakugo was the superior ship.

Gojo blinked.

Lu's entire body was locked in gamer stance. His fingers were flying across the keyboard. His eyes were bloodshot.

This guy was in full battle mode.

He wasn't just arguing.

He was winning.

"You idiots don't understand narrative structure!" Lu typed aggressively. "The rivalry is the foundation of their dynamic! You think author intent matters? No! It's about subtext, pacing, and thematic parallels—"

Gojo just stared.

This was… actually kind of impressive.

Gojo had fought divine-level wars before.

But Lu?

Lu was fighting the most intense battle of all—the online fandom war.

And he was not backing down.

Gojo decided this was the perfect time to strike.

Casually, he leaned against the table and said, "Hey, by the way, my girlfriend got kicked out of her parents' house, so she'll be staying in the extra room for a few months. You cool with that?"

Without even looking up, Lu waved him off.

"Just do what you like, I don't care. Now leave me alone."

And just like that—

The worst decision of his life.

Step Three: "Wait… Why Does She Seem So Familiar?"

A few days later, Gojo finally brought his 'girlfriend' home.

Subaki, now under Gojo's disguise magic, was introduced to Lu.

And that was the moment.

The moment Lu saw her face.

And for half a second, he saw his sister.

No. He blinked. Impossible.

There was no way.

His sister was in another universe. There were only two ways to travel between dimensions:

Through him. Through the Creator God.

And since the Creator God was "resting" (aka recovering for centuries), that meant there was absolutely no way she could have traveled here.

And there was no way she could have gotten strong enough to master dimension-hopping in just a few days.

So, he relaxed.

When he opened his eyes again, the face had changed.

Lu let out a breath of relief.

"Man, I need to take a break from screen time."

He thought nothing of it.

But that?

That was just the beginning.

Step Four: The Slow Descent into Madness.

Over the next few days, Subaki and Lu actually got along.

They became good friends, casually chatting, watching anime together, and—unbeknownst to Lu—starting the slow process of psychological warfare.

Because every now and then, Subaki would drop hints.

Hints that hit too close to home.

Hints that made Lu's brain itch.

She knew things she shouldn't. She acted just a little too much like his sister. Her name was Subaki. Her mannerisms were identical. And sometimes? Just for a second? He'd look at her and see his sister's face again.

And every time?

It was gone in a blink.

He couldn't tell if it was real or his imagination.

But Lu was a geek.

And geeks don't ignore things that feel off.

So, he did what any paranoid, overthinking nerd would do—

He hired a private investigator.

And the results?

Completely normal.

Background checks, records, history—everything lined up perfectly.

She was exactly who she said she was.

Lu even travelled back to his universe just to check on his sister.

And sure enough—

She was still there, ruling her planet like nothing had changed.

So why—

Why did something still feel off?

Step Five: "Am I Losing My Mind?"

That's when it really started.

The little things.

The slightest changes.

The type of changes no normal person would notice.

But a true geek would immediately detect.

At first, it was small.

His collectible mug from his favourite anime? Slightly moved. His anime merch, sealed away in mint condition? Repositioned. His DC and Marvel figures? Mixed up.

He confronted Gojo and Subaki.

They played dumb.

"Dude, maybe you moved them yourself?" Gojo said, sipping a soda.

"Are you sure you didn't forget?" Subaki added innocently.

Lu squinted.

But that wasn't all.

His most valuable things—his signed collector's items—were moved.

But when he checked the CCTV footage?

It was him.

Moving them.

But he had no memory of doing it.

Lu sat in his chair, gripping his head.

"Am I… am I losing my mind?"

And across the room?

Gojo and Subaki smirked.

Phase one was complete.
