The steam lingered as they finally stepped from the tub, Matteo supporting Felix as their bare feet met the cool tiles.
Towels wrapped around them, water still glistening on their skin, and the bathroom light cast a soft, golden glow.
"You're heavier than you look," Matteo said with a teasing edge, though his voice held a softness Felix couldn't ignore.
"Probably because I spent the afternoon carrying the weight of my entire family," Felix replied lightly, but his thumb brushed Matteo's hand, grounding them both.
Matteo chuckled, tugging the towel tighter around Felix's shoulders. "Then you should let me carry you tonight."
Felix glanced up at him, eyes half-lidded, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "That's a tempting offer."
