The door swung open with the faintest, most precise creak, and Matteo stepped back inside.
His presence instantly shifted the air in the room—like the gravity itself had tilted to accommodate him.
Bianca glanced up first, offering her usual crisp, professional smile. "Meeting went well?"
Matteo's eyes, however, weren't on her.
They were fixed on Felix, who was still leaning against the desk where her tablet lay, his expression open and animated in a way Matteo rarely saw outside the confines of their home.
Felix straightened, his lips curving into an easy smile. "You're back quicker than I thought."
"Not everything takes hours," Matteo said, his tone even but quieter, more subdued than usual.
