Chapter 1 - Arriving in Another World With System

The winds seemed to be reasonable when analyzing the light breeze that made the skin feel comfortable, the cold that calmed the minds of those who were distressed and helped them to calm down.

—I can have the luxury to calm myself because of the pleasant climate, I must also thank the danger that doesn't seem to be marking its presence here.

Confusions and nervousness was something very normal for someone who was in the situation of that person with short black hair, normal like any person who was on the street. His black eyes full of doubts were looking for answers about what was happening.

The clothes he wore was a white shirt without details with short sleeves, a simple black pants and black shoes. His look resembled a lot an office worker from the 21st century.

—Where am I??? How did I end up here???

The question was fair when he observed the environment where he was at the moment, his memories did not tell him anything about any place that reminded him of that.

—There was no forest near home, there also doesn't seem to be any type of light or technology where I am. I'm almost sure I was kidnapped, I need to know if they won't kill me immediately or put me in some weird show on the darkweb.

Cold wind could be pleasant for his skin, but the dark night lacking any light was something more than a negative sign. His survival instincts screamed of imminent danger, the nervousness and panic did not take over because of the concentration he was forcing himself to have to survive the environment he was in.

-The same cold wind that calms me is the same cold that makes me remember death. The only reason why I'm not nervous with this shitty situation I'm in is that it would hinder more than it would help, I love my "little life" too much to have the luxury of losing it.

Monologue that he was having with himself was one of the reasons by which he remained calm, it helped to check how his mental and physical situation was when he spoke out loud.

—...

Three white dots appeared in front of him, a blue screen was being materialized, this would make him happy when he thought it was something good.

—The Otherworlder System Was Activated!

Memories were activated to remember those system stories that were his greatest pastime, it was a recent memory and even quite pleasant.

—Does the user wish to know the system functionalities???Yes or no???

The answer was more than obvious when those options appeared on the screen. Knowledge would not harm him, the lack of knowledge and opportunities would.

—The system serves to help the user find their path through the other world to assist the beings of the superior plane to collect pleasant and satisfactory results.

—Don't you think that talking about beings from a superior plane is something that should be hidden from the users???

The blue screen turned red from one instant to another, danger signs seemed to be coming from that screen that should help him or offer a light of salvation.

—Acknowledge your own insignificance! It's not because you gained a system with certain privileges that you can start to think too highly of yourself, your death can come from one moment to another, another user will be chosen. You can even have knowledge about superior planes, it can even be spoken about in front of you and what are you going to do???

That was the moment it was discovered that the system did not like to be questioned, that the superior beings probably saw him only as a laboratory rat and would not explain more than necessary for him to begin his mission.

—Choose a class to proceed with the system tutorial.

The red screen turned blue again, the size of the floating screen had also increased so that he could observe the things that would be demonstrated.

-Classes:

Warlock: Warlocks are magic users who use the power of a superior life form. The user will be able to form a contract with servants of a deity of a superior life form of the superior world if they accept this class.

Paladin: They are knights who can be strengthened through faith, faith is transformed into sacred power by the deity. The user is introduced to the Gods of this world so that they can have an adequate beginning.

Gunner: A new class that only the system can provide the user, the user will use a firearm from their previous world. The system will provide methods to replenish ammunition and repairs to the weapon.

Jon wanted to choose between paladin or warlock, his finger was almost clicking on these two options until certain thoughts came into his head after that.

"Paladin or warlock is like depending entirely on the system, on the entities of the superior world and other things. The gunner can even depend on the system at the beginning, however it can be noticed that my independence is something possible if I put some effort and dedication."

The other two options would give him more power, a quick beginning that would lead him to unimaginable heights, but it did not make him feel at ease when he thought that he would have to depend on a superior existence that could command and demand out of a whim.

"Gunner is also not very reliable, the beginning and the end are dubious, the other point to analyze is that this is a different world, firearms may be nothing in this other world."

Doubt about what to choose was very normal when analyzing the three classes presented. Most people would not even take a second look at the third, the focus would only be on the first two.

His finger was rotating over the three options for some time, his mind was undecided until he closed his eyes, his choice could not be clearer the moment he pressed to select.

—Are you sure you will choose this class???

-I am.

The hesitations could be left for later, time would prove if he made the right or wrong choice when he finds himself in the coffin as a nobody, or in the middle of the crowd as a legend.

—Processing...

The floating screen quickly shrunk to a tiny form, then it elongated with a complete profile sheet that the user would have after choosing the desired class.

Name: Jon Walker

Age: 20 Years

Sex: Male

Classe: Gunner

-Skills:

Mana Bullet: The gunner can form bullets with his own mana, mana bullets are made of energy.

Materialize Weapon: The gunner can hide his weapon until the moment it is necessary to summon it to fight.

Survivor: Passive ability that helps the gunner to think more clearly in critical moments.

Status:

Strength: F-

Destreza: D-

Magia: F+

Agilidade: F+

Sabedoria: F

—Materialize Weapon!

Jon quickly gave the command for the weapon to be materialized in his hand, it didn't take long for a Colt to be held in his right hand.

-How many times can I reload this weapon with my current capacity???

—The mana bullet ability allows you to reload one cartridge per use, your current capacity is able to reload it only three times.

His mind quickly reasoned to realize that for now he could only fire 18 shots a day, since the Colt's cylinder only held 6 cartridges at a time.

-The rest depends only on me.

Confidence was filling his heart when he felt the firearm in his hand, his steps were taken to find something that would guide him to some path that would get him out of the dark and cold forest. Caution was not thrown to the wind even with the strength filling his body, his pride trying to corrupt his sense of self-preservation.

...

Loud sounds of metals clashing at high speed, a desperate fight was taking place at that moment. The number was around 20 units or a little more.

Many armed men were surrounding a carriage of someone who resembled a merchant, the guards who were executing the escort were hurt.

—Do not allow these scums to steal my merchandise! Our life also is important.

The merchant evoked a heavy feeling in his heart, his head could not reason properly due to the current circumstance where everything unfolded. He could run at any moment because of the risk his life was running. His physique was a little thin, his hair black and a little grayish and a small beard.

The criminals remained in greater number, the wear on their bodies and weapons was also much less than that of their enemies, the smile on their faces showed the confidence they had of winning, the loot was guaranteed, the gold was not an illusion.

—You should run for your life, the luxury of caring about material goods will be nothing if you lose it.

Jon watched that from a considerable distance while he trembled to glimpse unbelievable things like blood being shed after the body was eviscerated by blades strengthened by some kind of mysterious power.

—Can I really get involved here???

Fear of death existed when he noticed the superiority of strength that those thieves had, the weapon did not seem to be anything against the force of numbers, physical and mental.

Bodies fell in more numbers, hesitation became stronger, trembling was taking over his whole being, the fear of death generated a cold worse than that of this dark forest.

—How am I going to change the world if I can't even deal with bandits???

The weapon quickly stopped shaking, his hand and mind were no longer hesitating when the decision was made. The strategy had to be formulated so that he could use each of the 16 bullets he had.

The distance was more or less 30 meters, the weapon was quickly pointed at one of the targets as he came out of the cover where he was hiding. The shots were quickly fired in sequence, the targets were more than one.

The first bullet hit the head of a man with a huge height of almost 2 meters, his breathing ceased almost instantly. The second was pierced in the left lung, a merchant's escort quickly finished the job. The third had his leg wounded, his movements were impaired and a spear was embedded in his skull. The fourth managed to react in time to take cover, the shot grazed him. The fifth had his hand hit at the moment he was going to deliver the final blow, the man finished was himself after that. The sixth was grazed and quickly hid.

—Who's there???? Don't hide and show yourself!!!

The gunner quickly changed his position at high speed so that the shots were made from a different location, he would not allow himself to be found by any of his enemies who were looking for his head. The sound that was made at each shot was something that gave away his position, the mistake when moving could mean the end of his life.

—4 enemies neutralized, 2 wounded. 16 still remain.

Fear became part of those cruel sinners, the sound of the shot being fired was as if death itself was in flesh and blood to claim their souls. Fear of the unknown was something that scared much more than the fear of something that is really scary, because the unknown can be much worse than what is expected.

—Let's let these guys kill each other because of fear. I will only help when I see the opportunity or in favorable moments.

The boy from another world was trying to preach a tactic that would affect the psychology of his enemies, the effort would be much less if the fear was really planted in them.

—This person must be a coward for not having shown himself!!

—Don't be afraid of something that hasn't shown itself, the coward is weak when up close!!

—Follow me-

The speech was quickly cut short because of a shot to the forehead, the people who were trying to group up behind him to try to chase in the direction where the gunner was before were also targeted. 3 people were shot down, one was wounded and 4 bullets were spent.

The bodyguards were not messing around when they managed to eliminate the wounded, so the number decreased once again to 10 people.

—Recede!!!

—We don't stand a chance with this abomination on our tail!!

The bandits quickly dispersed to several different places when they saw that their numbers were reduced to 5 by prolonging the combat. The fear had made them have a wrong combat judgment, that mistake on the battlefield was equal to death.

"I'll hide my weapon."

Jon quickly hid his weapon while making sure his steps were audible as he approached the merchant's carriage.

The mercenaries were nervous as they heard those steps that seemed too heavy to belong to a person, the fear of those flying projectiles was tremendous.

—Hello, I'm Dimitri.

The merchant was the first to stand out with his hands gesturing good will, his smile could deceive those who were naive.

—My name is Jon, Jon Walker.

The figure of the otherworlder could be observed completely, those who were hired by Dimitri were disappointed to see a skinny and not at all practical physique.

—Was the esteemed Jon Walker the one who saved this humble merchant???

The merchant was nervous in front of that man who turned the battlefield upside down in a few minutes. The fear of a wrong word irritating the man who seemed more like a creature thirsty for blood.

—It was me. I will not be humble to deny my identity, because I need a favor.

—What would that favor be???

—I want you to take me to the nearest city, I also want a small monetary compensation so I can rest in an inn for a few days before taking my course.

The merchant did not think it was an unfair deal when he put his life on the scale after analyzing everything, the requested favors were things that would not spend even 1% of what he had in his carriage.

—We have a deal.

The unequal deal for his own safety and life could not be denied, his instincts told him that he would be killed the moment he refused this offer made by his benefactor in front.

"Good thing I didn't have to resort to brute force."
