Bang! Bang!
A puff of white smoke rose into the air. Yuichi's expression darkened slightly as he stared at his exhausted Shadow Clone.
The clone was gasping for breath.
"Ten avatars… each can only cast an A-level ninjutsu five times. There's no Chakra left!"
If it were an S-level technique like Hard Vortex Water Blade, the clones wouldn't even be able to cast it once.
This limitation made Yuichi understand something crucial about his "infinite" Chakra. Having infinite Chakra didn't mean he had unlimited energy—it simply meant he would never run out. But the maximum capacity for casting still existed.
It was like a meter ranging from zero to one hundred. Each time a ninjutsu is cast, the meter drops. Ordinary ninjas reach zero—Yuichi's lowest limit was 100. Shadow Clone divides that energy evenly: ten clones with ten points each. Far less than what Yuichi had imagined.
"So I don't have as much usable Chakra as I thought…" he muttered.
Some techniques required more Chakra than a clone possessed, meaning they couldn't be used effectively by the clones. Yet Yuichi himself could still cast them—his infinite Chakra ensured the system could supply the energy even beyond apparent limits.
"My Chakra volume must also improve," Yuichi realized.
The system had offered options to increase his Chakra before, but he hadn't known the full extent of this limitation. The maximum Chakra not only affected Shadow Clone efficiency, but also the raw power of his ninjutsu.
"Uchiha Madara could suppress a large number of Water Style ninjas with just a B-level technique during the Fourth Ninja World War. That wasn't just skill—it was the sheer volume of Chakra…"
Previously, Yuichi had accidentally triggered a Chakra increase reward, but after that, the system mostly offered ninjutsu upgrades. Suddenly, he thought of the daily choices.
Morning: new ninjutsu acquisition
Afternoon: ninjutsu upgrades
Evening: increase in Chakra volume?
It made sense—learning in the morning, practicing in the afternoon, and meditating or reviewing at night. Yuichi guessed the evening reward would boost his Chakra.
Even with the upper limit of Chakra, Shadow Clones could still accelerate proficiency gains. Ten clones, five casts each, completed in about seven seconds—roughly five times faster than Yuichi alone.
"Not bad," he said with a grin.
He decided to upgrade his Great Waterfall Technique to perfect, and other Water Style ninjutsu as well—except Hard Vortex Water Blade, which was too destructive to safely practice repeatedly.
The clones worked tirelessly, the valley echoing with the roar of rushing water as waves collided with the forest.
After an hour of relentless practice, the system finally prompted:
[Congratulations! Water Style: Water Severing Wave upgraded to Advanced level]
Yuichi collapsed to the ground, cheeks flushed, blue veins crawling across his forehead like a living map. Sweat dripped from his face.
"No wonder multiple Shadow Clones are considered a Forbidden Technique…"
Half an hour earlier, he felt he could barely continue, but the system notifications kept him going.
Now, Water Severing Wave was advanced, and his other Water Style ninjutsu had also leveled up:
Great Waterfall Technique: Perfect
Water Turbulence Technique: Perfect
Water Dragon Bomb Technique: Advanced
Water Severing Wave Technique: Advanced
Yuichi's combat effectiveness had nearly doubled—but he wasn't finished.
It was time to focus on Wood Style. Shadow Clones couldn't help here, as they lacked his Wood Style physique. He had to rely on himself.
Using Wood Style Chakra control, Yuichi gradually increased his proficiency. His palm seemed to transform into wood, and a branch with small buds sprouted, which he discarded.
[Wood Style proficiency +1]
"The speed is slow… maybe mental exhaustion is a factor. But Wood Style Chakra seems to help recover my energy."
He continued to practice, feeling his abilities grow with each movement.
[Wood Style proficiency +1]
[Wood Style proficiency +1]
Yuichi's mastery of Water and Wood Style was steadily rising. The combination of Shadow Clones, system-assisted training, and his own discipline was turning him into a prodigy unlike any other Genin.
