"Mama, why are the people outside scared?"

Dr. Chen, who was reviewing Luna's weekly development charts at our kitchen table, slowly looked up from her tablet. "Scarlett, most infants don't speak in full sentences until eighteen to twenty-four months."
"Most infants don't broadcast peace to entire city blocks either," I pointed out.
