The emergency alert came through at 3:17 AM, cutting through every TV channel, radio station, and cell phone in New York City.
"THIS IS AN EMERGENCY BROADCAST FROM THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION. A BIOLOGICAL CONTAMINATION EVENT IS CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS. ALL CITIZENS ARE ADVISED TO REMAIN INDOORS AND AVOID CONTACT WITH AFFECTED INDIVIDUALS."
I bolted upright from the couch where I'd been trying to sleep, my Luna senses immediately picking up the panic radiating from millions of people across the city.
"Alexander." I shook his shoulder. "Wake up."
He was already moving, his Alpha instincts responding to the same wrongness I felt in the air.
