"What… what does his death have to do with you, Yami-kun?"
Utaha's brows arched, her voice calm but edged with suspicion.
Yami shrugged, answering as if it were nothing.
"I killed him."
The words dropped like a stone.
Eriri panicked, waving her hands in a rush. "W-Wait! Don't misunderstand! Tomoya threatened Yami-kun first—he even fired a gun at him! That's why it happened!"
Utaha's eyes widened. For a moment, her sharp composure cracked. Yami's blunt admission had startled her—but deep down, she instinctively believed there had to be a reason.
Hearing Eriri's explanation, she exhaled softly, a knowing look settling over her features.
"…I see. Then it wasn't wrong. Anyone who threatens someone's life… gets what's coming to them. Self-defense, plain and simple."
There wasn't even a flicker of doubt in her tone.
Yami could only sigh with a bitter smile. Why does it feel like Eriri's more worried about distancing herself from Tomoya than about what I actually did?
He reached out suddenly and pinched her cheek. "Eriri, relax. I won't hate you just because you were friends with him."
Her face flushed at the contact, but before she could retort, Yami added quietly
"After all, the Eriri I know is already the way I like her to be."
"…!!"
The words landed like an arrow to her heart. Eriri's ears burned red, her pulse skyrocketing. She closed her eyes, leaned forward slightly on her toes—
Only for Utaha to cut in mercilessly.
"You blonde clown. He never said he likes you."
"Wha—!?"
Eriri's composure shattered as she exploded in flustered outrage.
"D-Don't get the wrong idea! I don't like him either!"
Her voice cracked, tsundere bravado bubbling out in full force.
"Ah? So you don't like him?" Utaha's lips curved into a devilish grin. "That's perfect then."
Before Eriri could snap back, Utaha moved in close, looping her arms around Yami's. Her chest pressed against him, soft and deliberate.
"In that case, I'll take him. Yami-kun, how about it? Will you let me be your girlfriend?"
Her words were bold, direct—but her body trembled ever so slightly. Her face was flushed, betraying the nerves she hid under her sharp tongue.
Eriri's jaw nearly hit the floor. Watching her rival cling to Yami like that was like being struck by lightning.
What the hell is happening right in front of me!?
But Yami spoke before the situation could spin out of control.
"To be honest, I do like you, Utaha."
Her breath caught, heart soaring—
"—But I don't think it's right to cheat when it comes to feelings."
Her expression froze mid-flight, crashing down in an instant.
"…Cheat?"
Yami nodded slowly.
"I'm greedy… too greedy. I like you, Utaha. But I also like Eriri. That feeling might just come from appearances… or maybe something deeper. I don't know yet."
The rooftop wind carried his words, leaving the three of them in tense silence.
"To put it bluntly," Yami said with a calm shrug, "I just like your bodies."
Silence.
"How can people who've only met a handful of times suddenly talk about deep feelings?" His tone was unshaken, blunt to the point of cruelty.
"I don't see anything wrong with a straightforward desire. Real love… comes with time."
Both Utaha and Eriri froze in place.
It was flattering to be confessed to, even vaguely. But the follow-up? The kind of words only a scumbag would dare say.
Bodies?
So shamelessly direct?
A normal girl would've slapped him and stormed off.
Yet Utaha, still clinging to his arm, didn't move away. Instead, her lips curved into a faint smile.
"Honestly, Yami-kun, I think that's fine."
"…Eh?"
"If your looks and figure hadn't caught my eye first, if you weren't handsome and someone who helped me… I doubt I would've fallen for you either."
She carried herself with elegant composure, her voice teasing but sincere.
"So if you like me for my appearance, that just proves how attractive I am. And frankly? I'm happy about that."
But her expression sharpened as she continued.
"Still… I want to know who this 'other woman' you're close with is. And just how far you've gone."
Yami tilted his head in thought, then raised his hand.
From the shadowy space of his dungeon, a girl stepped forth. White dress, white hair, red eyes that glowed faintly—
"Master!"
Ella rushed straight into Yami's arms before either Utaha or Eriri could blink. And without hesitation, she pulled him into a deep kiss.
"…!!"
Eriri nearly screamed. Utaha's brain flatlined.
The rooftop wind carried nothing but silence, broken only when Yami finally pulled away from Ella's lips and said casually:
"This is Ella. My woman, and my right hand. She's undead. As for our relationship… everything that can be done has already been done."
"…Huh!?"
"Wha—UND—undead!?"
It was too much. Their minds short-circuited trying to process the words.
Undead? Not even human? And he just dropped that bomb with a straight face.
Utaha rubbed her temple, sighing through her disbelief. "…Yami-kun. Is everything you just said actually true?"
As if to answer, the shadows at his feet writhed unnaturally, dark tendrils flickering in the sunlight.
"Does that look fake to you?" he asked coolly.
But Utaha's gaze didn't waver. She leaned in closer, her voice sharp.
"…I'm not asking about that. I'm asking—when you said you liked me. Was that part true?"
Yami blinked, caught off guard. He hadn't expected that question.
"If liking your body counts… then yes. It's true."
Utaha's breath hitched, though she masked it with a smirk. "…Yami-kun, you're absurdly honest about your desires."
Her eyes narrowed, heat flickering in them. "And I don't hate it."
Then, with deliberate boldness, she whispered
"Prove it to me. Show me how much my body attracts you."
For once, Yami didn't answer with words. He wrapped an arm around her slender waist and pulled her close, kissing her deeply.
Utaha stiffened for a moment—but then melted into it, hooking her arms around his neck and pressing forward with equal hunger.
A sharper, deeper kiss followed.
"Tsk~"
Ella tilted her head, watching curiously like an outsider to a play.
And Eriri? She was petrified, eyes wide, face burning red.
Who am I? Where am I? What am I even looking at?!
