Chapter 298 - Chapter 298

As everyone knows, shouting loudly bolsters your own courage — and can unsettle an enemy at the same time, tilting the opening exchange in your favor.

Following her usual style, Mira let out a full-throated battle cry the instant she launched herself into the air and began bringing her weapon down.

Elsa, by contrast, was the type who erupted in silence.

So one side was announcing herself at the top of her lungs.

The other was as quiet as a dormant volcano.

The result —

Smack.

"Mira!"

While Wolnir was still pouring out Death Miasma, he raised one arm and swatted Mira aside as casually as brushing away a fly.

His arms can still move freely while he's breathing miasma?!

We thought the dungeon was deliberately leaving us an opening — turns out it was a trap!

Well. Not exactly a trap.

The opening was real.

But if you're about to land a surprise attack, announcing it at full volume is probably counterproductive. Wolnir isn't deaf.

Even Wade himself would probably be pressing two fingers to his temple at this spectacle.

Fortunately, while Mira's approach had failed, Elsa — serving as the backup plan — came in without a sound and brought her greatsword crashing down on the bracelet adorning Wolnir's left arm.

The impact rang through the pitch-black cavern like a struck bell.

The black mist filling the space contracted sharply, as though it had its own feelings about the matter and those feelings were not positive.

"Hyaaah!"

Elsa poured everything she had into it, no longer able to hold the shout back.

Sparks cascaded where her blade scraped against the bracelet. Its glow distorted and flickered. Even the Abyss beneath Wolnir seemed to stir with increased agitation.

She held nothing back.

One goal.

Destroy the bracelet. Strip Wolnir of its protection. Let the Abyss take him.

But —

The bracelet buzzed violently.

Fragments chipped away where the sword struck, dissolving into drifting particles of light.

It looked as though it could shatter at any moment.

And yet it simply refused to break.

"Again!"

Without hesitation she gathered herself and swung a second time.

Clang!

The strike landed squarely. The bracelet trembled even more violently than before.

Still intact.

Were sacred relics from the Age of Ancients genuinely built this well?

There wasn't time for a third swing.

The instant the bracelet was struck, Wolnir's composure gave way to fury. His enormous hand came down.

Death itself descended over Elsa like a physical weight.

At the same moment, Wolnir threw his head back and roared — the kind of sound with enough force to interrupt anyone in the middle of any action.

Why does every remotely powerful monster in this dungeon know how to cancel attacks with a roar?

After two fully charged heavy strikes, Elsa was completely winded. She hadn't even finished exhaling before her body demanded air again. The roar at point-blank range nearly knocked the remaining breath from her entirely.

And now the same colossal hand that had once killed the assault team captain in a single motion was coming down —

She couldn't clear it in time.

Fortunately, someone had anticipated exactly this.

A chain materialized around Elsa's waist without warning.

A violent yank pulled her backward.

She cleared the attack with nothing to spare.

The ground where she had been standing caved beneath Wolnir's palm and was immediately consumed by the Abyss.

The chain belonged to Luluwo, who had been hidden beneath an Invisibility spell the entire time — invisible enough that Wolnir hadn't registered her presence.

If she hadn't been invisible, he wouldn't have settled for a slap. He would have grabbed the chain itself and swung Elsa around like a yo-yo.

She would have died exactly like a certain member of the Survey Corps.

"Good thing I never assumed Wolnir was just a mindless monster."

Luluwo exhaled, then nodded toward Elsa.

Understanding immediately, Elsa tore open an Invisibility Scroll and faded back into the shadows.

It wouldn't erase Wolnir's awareness of her location entirely. But it could dim her presence enough to encourage him to redirect his attention.

For instance —

Jingle… jingle…

Belto produced a bell.

Holding something in one hand and ringing it with the other, he activated it.

The moment the bell sounded, his mana drained rapidly.

A giant-like presence slowly took form before him.

Spirit Ashes: Taylew the Golem Smith.

Standing before them was the very nightmare of the sorcerer Roger — the entity that punished anyone harboring malicious intentions toward the Forest Region's Pokémon —

Taylew the Golem Smith.

"Go!"

Belto shouted dramatically.

Then he hung a necklace strung from several Alluring Skulls around the Golem Smith's neck —

And immediately ran.

No sooner had he cleared the area than Wolnir's gigantic arm swept across the battlefield.

The Golem Smith was launched through the air and hit the ground heavily.

What astonished everyone was what came next.

A normal person would have had every bone and organ destroyed by that impact. The Golem Smith developed a few cracks across its surface.

Then it slowly climbed back to its feet and resumed its steady march toward Wolnir.

The Golem Smith was an enemy from the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, defined by two things above all others: an enormous health pool and exceptional resistance to nearly every form of attack. Without targeting its weak point on the back, dealing meaningful damage to it was close to impossible. Under certain circumstances in the game it could even solo the DLC's final boss.

Summoned as Spirit Ashes by Belto, its offensive power against Wolnir was negligible.

As a tank, however —

It was without question the sturdiest thing in the arena.

Sturdier than anyone present.

As a side note, Spirit Ashes were unique to Sein Dungeon. There were countless varieties, all extremely convenient to carry. The system hadn't caught on broadly outside the dungeon, though — partly because powerful Spirit Ashes had extremely low drop rates while ordinary ones weren't impressive enough to bother with, and partly because Summoners and Necromancers could already accomplish much the same thing. The demand for Spirit Ashes remained low and their position in the adventuring world awkward.

By any reasonable measure, the Skyrim Group obtaining the Golem Smith Spirit Ashes was the equivalent of pulling an SSR through sheer luck.

With Wolnir's attention now occupied by the Golem Smith — who was wearing a necklace of six Alluring Skulls and advancing with complete indifference to its own structural damage — the group launched another assault.

Mira went first.

Before being swatted away earlier, she had activated the Uplifting Aromatic, which had absorbed a significant portion of the damage. Without it, the hit would have killed her instantly. Having survived, she had strong feelings about making Wolnir account for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately —

Before she could even reach him, Wolnir raised one arm.

Death Miasma erupted outward from his entire body, driving her back.

For both Mira and Elsa, who depended almost entirely on physical contact to deal damage, there simply wasn't a window.

The others compensated with ranged attacks.

Belto waved his staff with visible anxiety.

A torrent of Glintstone Pebbles poured out as though mana were free.

In his panic, however, he had misjudged their maximum range.

The projectiles faded mid-flight.

Not one connected.

Compared to him, Ais and Aim performed brilliantly.

They raised their hands simultaneously with synchronization that would have impressed Pacific Rim pilots.

Together they cast a purple sorcery —

Meteorite.

The beloved gravity spell of countless Elden Ring mage players. Originating from the Academy of Raya Lucaria, it used gravitational force to hurl massive meteorites at targets. Classified as sorcery, it dealt physical damage.

All six meteorites struck the bracelet on Wolnir's right arm squarely.

The bracelet didn't shatter.

But its glow unmistakably dimmed for a moment.

Wolnir roared.

Planting both hands against the ground, he lurched violently forward. As he advanced, the Abyss spread across a larger area, steadily compressing the space the adventurers had to work with.

Four advances like that and the entire arena would be swallowed.

It was the boss fight's hidden time limit.

Just as he charged —

Luluwo raised one arm with measured grace.

A swarm of bats burst from her sleeve and surged toward the bracelet on Wolnir's left arm, detonating against it on contact.

A spell born from her vampire bloodline — something that should have been beyond her reach. But repeated leveling at the bonfire had forcibly awakened the dormant power sleeping within her blood.

The entire Skyrim Group had grown considerably stronger during this period. They hadn't spent their preparation time on research alone.

"ROOOAR!"

Both bracelets had now been struck simultaneously.

Their light shrank at the same time.

Then something no one had expected happened.

Wolnir's enormous body lurched —

Not forward.

Backward.

The Abyss —

Was pulling him back.

Could this be —

Was he about to fall in?

Luluwo's eyes went wide.

Then, just in time, the bracelets flared back to full brightness and halted the drag.

Even so, his forward advance had been completely stopped.

He had been pushed back a considerable distance.

"That's it!"

Tami's voice rang out with barely contained excitement.

"Attacking the bracelets stops him from spreading the Abyss!"

"Exactly."

Luluwo smiled.

Her enthusiasm burned brighter than it had in some time.

The reason she was so consumed by dungeon exploration was precisely this — the uncertainty. You never knew what your actions would produce in the next moment. Things could get better. Things could get dramatically worse.

That uncertainty was what made dungeons endlessly fascinating.

And discovering that attacking every bracelet simultaneously could push High Lord Wolnir back —

The thrill it gave her was more exhilarating than winning ten billion at a casino.

At the same time, Mira and Elsa found another opening.

Their two massive weapons struck both bracelets simultaneously.

Clang.

Clang.

The clear metallic impacts rang out across the cavern.

The bracelets' radiance was fading steadily.

Everything was moving in the right direction.

Wolnir erupted in another burst of Death Miasma, driving Mira and Elsa back again.

This time, something had changed in his attention.

He had noted that those two had inflicted more damage on the bracelets than everyone else combined.

He stopped responding to the Alluring Skulls entirely.

And fixed his pursuit on the two women.

"Mira! Get clear!"

Elsa required no concern on that front — she was faster than anyone else present and had already put herself outside his reach.

Mira was a different situation entirely.

She was the textbook definition of a heavily armored warrior. Expecting someone in full plate armor carrying a gigantic hammer to sprint like a ranger was not a reasonable expectation. She could have kicked sparks from the ground and still wouldn't have made the distance.

Nobody was close enough to reach her.

Luluwo hauled on the chain around Mira's waist.

Ais threw up a protective barrier.

Aim cast Windrun.

Still, Wolnir's hand drew steadily closer.

At this range, intangibility was probably the only thing that could save her.

"Then everything on this!"

Mira activated the Uplifting Aromatic.

She triggered the Wolf Ring.

She swallowed both the boiled shrimp and the crab she'd been keeping in her mouth for this moment.

She crushed the consumable Golden Vow she'd been hiding in her boot.

Multiple buffs cascaded through her body simultaneously.

With a magnificent battle cry, she activated the Ash of War attached to her great hammer —

Braggart's Roar.

The enhanced strength poured into her body as she swung directly into Wolnir's incoming hand.

BOOM.

The desperate strike was powerful enough that the surrounding black mist exploded outward. A visible shockwave rippled through Wolnir's arm.

"It worked—!"

Before the celebration finished forming —

Wolnir's other arm came in from the side.

Mira's small figure disappeared completely beneath the enormous hand.

Nothing visible remained inside.

"Attack! Draw his attention!"

Every strike on the bracelets forced Wolnir to release his grip.

The group hit them from every angle.

When Wolnir's hand finally lifted —

Mira was still standing.

"She's standing — she can still fight!"

Joy broke across Luluwo's face. She moved to pull Mira back —

Mira's body crumbled slowly into drifting ash.

In the space of a single breath, she was gone.

Every adventurer recognized the effect instantly.

The visual for dying and returning to the bonfire.

"…Huh?"

The entire group asked the question in perfect unison.

She died standing up?

Was Mira genuinely that committed?

Inspired by her apparent resolve, everyone absorbed the fallen warrior's spirit and pressed their assault on the Overlord harder than before.

The truth, however, was considerably simpler.

Mira had remained upright after death solely because of the Wolf Ring and her accumulated defensive buffs. The Wolf Ring Replica had greatly increased her Poise — so even after she died, she never actually fell over.

To put it another way: she had stood there and absorbed every last unit of damage without going down.

The Uplifting Aromatic's protection had been consumed by the first hit. The second landed squarely on her body with nothing between them.

Wolf Ring.

At that point it was functioning less as a combat enhancement and more as a mechanism for keeping corpses upright.

If anyone wanted to go toe-to-toe with enemies on Wolnir's level, they weren't remotely qualified yet. At the absolute minimum, they would need Havel's full legendary armor set — though given their current physical strength, walking while wearing it would probably be the first obstacle to overcome.

Mira's death seemed to mark a turning point.

Mistakes began compounding.

Luluwo attempted to bait Wolnir into breathing Death Miasma again so Elsa could attack the bracelets.

Wolnir feinted.

He drew breath as though preparing to exhale — then the moment Elsa emerged, he swatted her sideways without completing the attack at all.

Ais and Aim became tangled up fighting off waves of Carthus Warriors and lost the ability to provide direct support. They could only find occasional windows to cast support spells when an opening appeared.

Belto devoted himself entirely to keeping the Golem Smith functional.

He had quietly become nothing more than his Spirit Ash's dedicated support unit.

There was no helping it. Magic was his secondary discipline. His actual specialty was stealth attacks with daggers — a talent that was perfectly useless in the current situation.

As for Tami —

He stepped bravely into the position Mira had vacated.

Unfortunately, the damage he could produce simply wasn't enough.

Wolnir kept advancing.

Step by step.

The adventurers' mistakes grew more frequent.

Their supplies were running out.

Everyone endured injuries and fought on the brink of death just to attack the bracelets, all to create more opportunities for Elsa to strike.

But—

"Break already! Why won't you just break?!"

Luluwo's eyes were bloodshot.

Every attack they landed dimmed the bracelets' radiance. With each hit, they grew darker and more battered, looking as though they were on the verge of shattering.

Yet they simply refused to break.

It was as if they were HP-locked.

The feeling was like repeatedly slashing an enemy, only for its HP bar to remain permanently stuck at 99%.

Those bracelets were even harder to wear down than a Pinduoduo bargain.

Perhaps enough time had passed, because Wolnir finally drew his ultimate weapon—the Holy Sword.

Luluwo's party also used their last remaining Uplifting Aromatics, along with scrolls containing King-tier defensive magic.

Sword light flashed.

The wrath of the gods shook the battlefield.

The good news was that they survived the Holy Sword's devastating attack.

Afterward, Wolnir sheathed the weapon.

The bad news...

The Golem was completely destroyed by that attack.

After putting up a valiant fight and delivering a beautiful "GG," it crumbled into dust.

Without the golem to draw Wolnir's attention, the Overlord immediately turned his aggression toward the rest of the party.

Moreover, after drawing the Holy Sword, Wolnir's attacks became even faster and more ferocious.

"...That's it."

"This subjugation attempt has failed."

Not long afterward, as they faced the Holy Sword's second magnificent burst of Wrath of the Gods, Luluwo shrugged helplessly and, abandoning all elegance, cursed,

"Damn it... why the hell are those bracelets so ridiculously durable?"

A flash of light later—

Everyone revived at the bonfire.

Mira, who had revived much earlier, had grown so bored that she was playing with pebbles on the ground.

She had even built a tiny fortress out of them.

Seeing everyone return, she kicked the pile apart and asked,

"So... round two?"

"Let me think..."

Luluwo sat before the bonfire, deep in thought.

Our battle strategy wasn't wrong.

Every reaction from High Lord Wolnir proved that attacking the bracelets was absolutely the correct approach.

Our team composition isn't the problem either.

Without Guts, she would have simply fought alongside the Farron Guard.

Darrick wasn't a bad substitute, either.

So where exactly is the problem?

Her expression darkened.

It was all because of those absurdly resilient bracelets.

Why couldn't they just break when people wanted them to?

The thought alone made her grind her teeth.

But anger alone solved nothing.

If killing intent alone could kill...

The Dungeon would have been wiped clean of life long ago.

"We need a way to destroy those bracelets much faster."

What could make them break more quickly?

The first thing that came to mind was increasing their attack power.

After all...

Brute force solves everything.

Unfortunately, that clearly wasn't an option right now.

Then what about increasing the number of attackers?

That would require time to build teamwork.

Perhaps they could recruit more people after today.

What else...?

There has to be another way...

As Luluwo frowned in thought, Mira suddenly sighed.

"If only Gapar were here."

"He'd probably be able to slice those bracelets apart."

Gapar...

Perhaps he really could.

But when Luluwo thought of the old Sword Saint, the first thing that came to mind wasn't his unparalleled swordsmanship.

Instead...

She remembered the first time he died in the Dungeon.

His body had been transported to the Resurrection House in the city, attracting crowds from all over who came just to take commemorative photos.

The spectacle became famous overnight.

Along with it...

The image of the Sword Saint crying after his resurrection spread throughout the city.

It caused quite a sensation.

Now that I think about it...

Why was he crying again?

Oh, right...

Because his beloved weapon had been...

Suddenly—

Luluwo's eyes lit up.

She jumped to her feet.

"I've got it!"

"Everyone, come with me! We're making a trip outside!"

Everyone looked utterly confused.

What kind of solution required leaving the Dungeon?

Calculating the time, however, it was already close to midnight.

The Dungeon would soon close anyway.

If they left now, rested for a few hours, then returned...

They could continue the battle.

Their destination wasn't the Royal Capital.

It was Bedford City.

Not long afterward...

They arrived at a gloomy mansion that practically radiated an eerie atmosphere and knocked on the door.

Judging from the overgrown weeds covering the courtyard...

The owner was clearly a complete shut-in.

Luluwo knocked for quite some time without receiving an answer.

Yet she stubbornly refused to give up.

Eventually, an irritated voice came from inside.

"Coming, coming... Who is it?"

"It's the middle of the night! Are you seriously not going to let people sleep?!"

The door opened.

A man with messy stubble and enormous dark circles beneath his eyes appeared.

Looking more closely—

Wasn't this Mage Roger?

Recently, he had either been dragged around by professors promoting magical theory...

Or forced by his mentor to stay up all night writing academic papers.

The dark circles beneath his eyes were darker than the night itself.

Today had finally been his day off.

And now someone had disturbed him.

The resentment radiating from him was practically enough to resurrect the Evil Sword Immortal.

"Oh... it's you."

"What do you want...?"

Roger wore the exact same expression as someone silently asking,

"You're awake too?"

Luluwo smiled with the most harmless smile imaginable.

She spread her hands.

"Mind lending me some Poké Balls?"

"...What?"

Everyone knew that Roger possessed the largest stockpile of Poké Balls.

He spent every day capturing all kinds of bizarre creatures.

"Croak?"

A Basilisk poked its head out from beside the doorway, sounding just as confused as its master.

Perched atop its head, a sleepy Fletchling swayed drowsily, barely able to keep its tiny eyes open.

No one knew exactly what Luluwo said afterward.

In any case...

She really did leave Roger's house carrying an entire basket of Poké Balls.

That's right.

An entire basket.

"Listen carefully."

"The next strategy is this..."

Luluwo mysteriously explained her new plan.

After hearing it...

Everyone smiled.

Elsa, in particular, immediately understood.

She repeatedly praised Luluwo's incredible ingenuity.

"I wish I could attach your brain to mine."

...That was a rather terrifying thing to say.

The Skyrim Team left the Dungeon an hour before it closed.

When they entered again...

It was once more the middle of the night.

They only had enough time for a single battle against Wolnir.

"Come on!"

"Round Two begins now!"

The second battle against High Lord Wolnir officially commenced.

This time...

Their team composition hadn't changed.

Neither had their supplies.

Even their strategy appeared almost identical.

At first glance...

Nothing seemed different.

There was only one change.

This time...

Berto didn't summon the Forge Golem.

Instead, he constantly ran around Wolnir, repeatedly brushing shoulders with death.

What were they trying to accomplish?

Luluwo also stopped baiting Wolnir into using ranged attacks.

Instead, she deliberately stayed close.

Once the bracelets had been damaged enough for their glow to noticeably dim...

Wolnir entered his enraged state.

His melee attacks became dramatically more frequent.

And this time...

He treated everyone equally.

"Now!"

"Throw them!"

At Luluwo's command...

Tami pulled out a red-and-white Poké Ball.

He hurled it directly beneath Wolnir's descending hand.

The Poké Ball opened.

A creature resembling an insect—

One deeply connected to Sword Saint Gapar—

Appeared.

Before it could even move...

Wolnir smashed it flat with a single slap.

Blood and shattered flesh exploded everywhere.

Much of it splattered directly onto the bracelet.

The adventurers repeated the process.

One Poké Ball after another.

Every single one contained the same creature.

The enraged Wolnir slaughtered every one of them without exception.

Blood and flesh flew in every direction.

Soon...

Both of his hands...

And the bracelets wrapped around them...

Were completely coated in gore.

Were these creatures Pokémon?

Of course not.

Once every Poké Ball had been thrown...

Wolnir gradually calmed down.

Luluwo's party immediately resumed their previous strategy.

Once again, they created an opening for Elsa to attack the bracelets.

The opportunity had arrived.

Watching Elsa assume a stance remarkably similar to Lion's Claw, everyone stared with unprecedented anticipation.

Her target was the bracelet on Wolnir's right arm.

Earlier...

Everyone had focused their attacks there.

Its radiance had already dimmed considerably.

After throwing the Poké Balls...

They had intentionally stopped attacking the bracelets.

They didn't want to alert Wolnir.

"BOOM!"

Carrying everyone's hopes...

Elsa's greatsword erupted with crimson light.

Scarlet flames engulfed the blade.

Like a blazing meteor...

It crashed directly into the bracelet.

CRACK!

As the meteor's brilliance faded...

The unmistakable sound of something shattering echoed throughout the cavern.

High Lord Wolnir let out the most terrified roar he had ever uttered.

"It broke!"

Luluwo cried out excitedly.

"It finally broke!"

Everyone else erupted into cheers.

Before their eyes...

The bracelet on Wolnir's right arm dissolved into countless starlike fragments before disappearing into the darkness.

The Abyss immediately surged up his right side, desperately trying to drag him downward.

For a brief moment...

Wolnir and the Abyss struggled against one another.

It was the perfect opportunity.

Elsa immediately rushed toward the bracelet on his left arm and swung with all her strength.

Seeing this...

Luluwo joined the assault as well, helping Elsa destroy it.

Why had the bracelets suddenly become so fragile?

It all stemmed from the creatures they had thrown earlier.

Those creatures were called...

Rust Monsters.

The very Rust Monsters that dwelled within Farron Keep.

The same Rust Monsters that had once destroyed Sword Saint Gapar's treasured sword.

Anyone who killed a Rust Monster would find their equipment gradually corroded.

Once enough corrosion accumulated...

Their gear would eventually break.

Because of this...

Rust Monsters had earned a notorious reputation throughout the Dungeon.

No adventurer wanted to hunt those disgusting pests.

That was exactly what Luluwo had remembered.

But she had taken the idea one step further.

Would the Rust Monsters' corrosion work on sacred relics like Wolnir's bracelets?

If so, how much would it take?

Unable to know the answer...

She decided to test it.

Borrowing a basket of Poké Balls from Roger...

She eventually captured nearly thirty Rust Monsters.

Even throwing all of them wasn't enough to destroy the bracelets outright.

But...

Their corrosion did affect Wolnir.

The effect was simply much weaker.

If one wasn't enough...

Then overwhelming numbers would make up the difference.

Luluwo couldn't help but sigh in admiration.

"As expected..."

"The best way to deal with dungeon creations..."

"...is with other dungeon creations."

After Elsa destroyed the second bracelet...

Wolnir temporarily broke free from the Abyss's grasp.

He drew the Holy Sword.

Then unleashed the largest Wrath of the Gods yet.

And immediately cast it...

A second time.

Luluwo's party survived through a combination of Uplifting Aromatics, the Forge Golem, and every defensive measure they possessed.

Unfortunately...

This time, after unleashing Wrath of the Gods, Wolnir did not sheathe his Holy Sword.

Instead...

He launched an unrelenting storm of attacks.

After surviving the two consecutive divine blasts...

Luluwo's party had exhausted every last resource they possessed.

None of them survived the assault that followed.

But...

That didn't matter.

They had already found the correct strategy.

What remained...

Was simply time.

Repeated attempts.

And perhaps...

A little blessing from Lady Luck.

They adjusted their equipment.

Replenished their supplies.

Captured more Rust Monsters.

Repeated the process again and again.

They purchased Ashes of War such as Bloodhound's Step and Raptor of the Mists to evade the Holy Sword's attacks.

Unexpectedly...

They even managed to acquire the sorcery scroll for Iron Flesh.

Next came every imaginable method of increasing their attack power.

They even hired several mages whose sole purpose was to cast buffs such as Flame, Grant Me Strength, Golden Vow, and Oath of Vengeance upon them.

Another day passed.

After who knew how many attempts...

With only one hour remaining before the Dungeon closed...

"HAAAAAAAH!"

Elsa's greatsword, covered in crimson patterns, blazed with scarlet flames.

Unable to contain herself any longer...

She roared as she swung.

She wagered every last ounce of her strength on this single strike.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion thundered throughout the cavern.

A brilliant flash illuminated the darkness.

Immediately afterward...

High Lord Wolnir let out one final roar of defiance.

The final bracelet disintegrated into ash.

And with it...

The Overlord's ambitions crumbled into nothingness.

No one had time to celebrate.

A sinister wind swept through the pitch-black space.

An overwhelming sense of dread filled everyone's hearts.

The Abyss became more active than ever before.

Wailing in despair...

High Lord Wolnir was mercilessly dragged into the Abyss.

Even a being as powerful as he was utterly helpless before that horrifying force.

Everyone watched in stunned silence.

Fear aside...

They had won.

...Right?

As the black fog filling the cavern gradually dispersed...

Everyone finally returned to the battlefield.

But before the rewards appeared...

Something else manifested first.

A... memory?

A vision?

An image began to play before their eyes...
