Dirk Carter's gaze was deep.

Dirk Carter turned around and asked, "Is there something you need?"
Houston Marshall nodded and said, "Mayor Ross wants you to head over to the Municipal Government immediately."
"Norman Ross?"
Dirk Carter asked in surprise.
Houston Marshall nodded and said, "Secretary Johann Holloway from the Municipal Government office and I are old classmates. I mentioned it indirectly, and it's probably about your promotion."
Promotion?
A promotion at this juncture?
It's important to know that after the downfall of Brett Summers' group,
the city hasn't filled all the vacancies in the county yet.
