The whole room was heavy with tension. Stern-faced leaders and representatives from every major werewolf pack, lycan pack, and allied division in Silvermane filled the rows of seats, their collective focus a palpable weight in the air. I sat next to the Speaker of the legislative council on the raised dais, feeling the eyes of the entire room on me.
I cleared my throat, the sound unnaturally loud as it was picked up by the microphone. My gaze flickered over to Nyx, who held a quiet Presley in the observer's gallery, rubbing his back gently as she stood close to Wyatt.
"We've gathered here today to formally announce the discovery of the Celester Moon child by the Alpha himself," the Speaker, Frederick Garfield, began, his voice echoing through the silent hall. "This comes just weeks after Alpha Soren's personal decision to lead the search following our last urgent meeting."
