Huh.
"Watch out." That sentence was said to me, and I instinctively dodged.
Wait, I can see again, was my first thought.
My eyes blinked rapidly as I looked around.
I realized I was in class right now.
But I remembered that I was in the male bathroom before this.
Then I was attacked and everything went dark.
Suddenly, I felt someone slap the back of my head.
"Blind boy has good instincts."
"I heard bats are blind too, and they use sound to see."
"Maybe you should go look for them to recognize your family."
"After all, it's kinda sad to be alone at our age."
There were a lot of voices that kept adding remarks while the others snickered.
The back of my head felt slimy, and I realized that it was an egg they had smashed on it.
I wasn't in the mood to deal with these idiots, so I turned and walked to the bathroom again.
I was distracted and bumped into a lot of people, but they just ignored me and walked away.
I was busy trying to understand what was going on.
I closed the bathroom door behind me and sat against the wall beside it.
I switched on my headphones and played a soothing tune.
It was calm and steady, which helped calm my erratic mood.
I took a deep sigh and tried to figure out what was going on.
The last thing I remembered was being attacked by someone.
I couldn't see who it was or where the person came from.
All I knew was that they landed on the floor as if they were fighting someone.
Then they stood up and attacked me.
After that, I lost consciousness, only to arrive in the classroom.
Judging by the words spoken by those idiots, it was probably the same day.
But just to be sure, I checked the date using my headphones.
A blue transparent screen appeared before my eyes with the same date as before.
So what on earth could be going on?
Did I fall asleep or something and hallucinate the whole thing?
That can't be right.
I was slumped on the floor with my back to the wall and my knees to my chest.
I tapped my fingers on the ground, thinking about my day.
I woke up as usual and got dressed for school.
The rest of the time was spent eating breakfast while being insulted by the other students,
followed by the walk to my classroom amidst taunts and shoves.
Basically, I didn't have a moment to rest after I woke up, so there wasn't any opportunity for me to fall asleep.
I frowned and thought more deeply, trying to find any point in time when I could have fallen asleep.
Eventually, I was disturbed by the slime dripping down my neck.
The egg hadn't been washed off my hair yet, and it felt sticky.
Sighing, I walked over to the sink and used my hand to scoop some water.
Then I proceeded to wash off the egg.
The water splashed on my glasses in the process, and I had to put them down.
It's annoying to still see only blurry images with tiny dots in your vision.
As I was taking care of that, I heard the door open once again.
It was the same loud thud.
I dodged out of the position I was in and felt someone land on the ground in that direction.
I scrambled to stand up, but I was too late.
There was a hand dragging my trouser leg, and I fell once again.
I swung my arms wildly in front of and around me, but the person still bit me.
I couldn't see where it was, but I could feel where they bit.
I tried to shake the person off and used my other hand to hit in that direction,
but my hand met air, and the pain was now on my neck.
I tried to shove the person's head away from my neck, but they were too strong.
Eventually, I lost consciousness amidst the soothing melody.
....
"Watch out."
That same voice and the same egg.
I was still dazed for a while, but I slowly reacted.
I left the classroom and headed straight for the male bathroom.
Then I began to think, not even caring that I hadn't put on my headphones.
I paced around the room, thinking, until my movements stopped.
I walked to the sink and hurriedly washed off the egg.
Then I wiped my glasses clean with the base of my uniform shirt and placed them on my face.
I walked to the other end of the bathroom and grabbed the mop that was leaning against the wall.
I stood with my back to the wall, gripping the mop while staring at the door.
If a fight has to happen, it's better that it occurs in an enclosed environment.
The hallway would probably be filled with too many people for me to swing the mop around properly,
and I would be too vulnerable to attack.
At least I know for sure that there is one person who attacks me,
and the only entrance is through that door.
Time passed by, but I stood firm while waiting.
Then it happened.
Someone was slammed into the room through the door with a thud.
The door hit the wall due to the forceful opening.
I didn't rush forward because I still couldn't see who it was or where they were,
so I just swung the mop from left to right as fast as I could.
I tried not to leave any gaps, and I felt the other end of the mop hit flesh.
I continued to swing it wildly until, eventually, the person broke it.
That's right.
They took the hit head-on, and the mop stick broke.
I didn't relent and continued swinging the broken mop.
Eventually, I couldn't move it anymore.
It felt like it was stuck in something.
The person lunged at me with the broken mop in their body.
This time, I was bitten before I could react.
The other end of the mop pierced my chest before I could be bitten.
Son of a bitch.
...
"Watch out."
I ignored those idiots and went to the bathroom.
What to do now?
I cleaned my glasses once again and went to the mop bucket instead.
I removed the mop stick and grabbed the bucket.
There wasn't any water inside, and it was quite light.
I weighed it for a bit, then got into position.
Back to the wall, eyes focused on the direction of the door.
After a while, it was time.
I just realized that the attack happened after the bell rang for first period.
Once the door was forced open,
I swung the bucket around in different directions.
But alas.
The person slapped it away, and I hit my head on the wall, passing out.
...
"Watch out."
Now what?
What is the most appropriate tool for me to fight with?
My bare hands?
I thought about it for a while, then walked back to the male bathroom.
My classmates looked at me like I was insane as I walked away.
Once the appointed time occurred, I swung my fist in the direction of the barely visible silhouette.
But I lost.
...
"Watch out."
This time, I chose to run away before the first period.
I promptly left the classroom and headed to the exit of the building.
But I was caught by a teacher and dragged back to class.
I tried to make an excuse that my eye hurt, but they didn't listen.
As long as I wasn't dead, there wasn't much else they cared about.
I stayed in class, hoping that it was only one person who went crazy and started biting people.
But I was wrong.
Soon, there were screams coming from the hallway, and people were running.
The class erupted into chaos when someone was attacked at the door.
I stood up and tried to run with the rest of my classmates,
but I ended up slamming into a desk that had been pushed into my path.
Eventually, the person attacking people at the door caught up to me.
...
"Watch out."
This time, I tried to use the desk in the classroom as a weapon,
but I tripped on a chair that was on the floor.
...
Another time, I opted to climb out the window instead of using the school building door.
I slipped on my way down because I couldn't see the best place to put my hands.
Luckily, our classroom was on the ground floor because we were first years,
and the school field was in front of the building.
But unluckily, I was jumped as soon as I got up.
It seems there were more attackers here too.
...
This time, I sat in the classroom after dealing with the egg.
I didn't linger in the bathroom and came straight back.
Because I realized that no matter how hard I fought,
there was nothing I could do as a blind man.
You know the expression "went in blindly"?
I think it's not properly used unless one experiences it themselves.
Just imagine closing your eyes and fighting someone stronger than you.
People don't realize how important their eyes are.
They never realize until they lose them.
But your sight is the most important sense your body has.
One can live without the ability to smell,
though it might feel uncomfortable.
One can live without taste,
though food may feel unbearable.
But at least you can see the food, and you can see the perfume.
It's hard to describe the terror one feels when trying to fight in endless darkness.
But if I could, it would feel like chains wrapped around you,
everything hindering your movement,
and yet you can clearly hear your death approaching.
You just don't know where it's going to strike.
That state of not knowing.
That tension amplifies the experience.
You can't fight back because you don't even know what it looks like.
You can swing your arm at the sound, but your hand meets nothing.
You can struggle all you want, but that person can still subdue you in a second.
It's not just a disability or a crippling.
It's a cage that keeps you deep in terror.
So I let the darkness consume me.
Hehe.
Haha.
Let's plunge the whole world into darkness.
Then I heard that voice, one that sounded deranged.
Then I thought about how the Noi family was still in the world.
And I smiled and replied to the voice,
"Sure, why not, as long as I can drag the Noi family into the abyss."
The mangled body of the blind youth with glasses started to twitch.
Noi Karn had a crazed smile on his face as he stood up.
The silver opaque eyes that held no images began to be dyed in a bloody red color.
The last crazed laughter rang out in the building filled with zombies.
Then his eyes rolled back, and he passed out.
A cat made out of shadows
entered the classroom.
It went straight to the unconscious Noi Karn and tapped both his eyes.
Then its body melted into a blob.
The blob split into five smaller round blobs, and each went to the five kids it had come into contact with.
Then each blob dissolved on the areas that the cat had touched.
The five unconscious kids showed signs of waking up.
