Chapter 265 - Cap.252 - End of the Sunil Disaster

[A/N: The opening part of this chapter was taken from the original novel.]

It took a month for the outbreak to reach its final stage on Planet Sunil. At that point, the beasts that appeared last were extremely powerful, and some of them had already surpassed the category of beasts and could be called monsters.

One of these monsters was the Acid Flying Beetle, with a wingspan of over a hundred meters, which wouldn't die even after taking more than a dozen laser shots. It was capable of shooting corrosive acid from its mouth, clinging to the warship's shield and hissing smoke. One of these monsters could be dealt with easily, but they appeared in groups, and the firepower of the field couldn't match them. Thus, the warship's shield was breached and its outer armor damaged. It was forced to land and undergo emergency repairs.

-What did the monsters on this planet eat?- A cry rang out among the mercenaries, they were in shock. Monsters with a wingspan of 100 meters were almost as large as the smallest warships on Sunil. This was just a wild animal on a planet, but it had grown into something comparable to a warship. A monster this large didn't even require a ground observation team, reconnaissance aircraft could locate it directly.

-Prepare for impact! Prepare for impact! Mountain Beasts have been detected and are approaching. Estimated arrival time is 14 minutes. All soldiers, get ready. Begin loading the High-Energy Concentrated Particle Cannon! - In the fifth ring of defense, the floor opened, revealing a fearsome and extremely complex metallic cannon. Its barrel was hexagonal and embedded within the hollow Particle Stabilization Device, like a cannon being divided into parts.

This High-Energy Concentrated Particle Cannon was a discarded product from the central wormhole of the Shattered Star Ring, a galactic-level weapon of war, and it was unknown from which superior civilization it came. It had been collected by Scavengers for sale, and the Sunil had spent a huge sum to buy it. This was what they had learned from the enormous loss they suffered in the first catastrophe, they had to have a trump card against powerful beasts.

Although it was a scrapped product, it had cost the Sunil a fortune. It had the protection of technology from a superior civilization, could not be repaired or studied, and could only be used. Each shot required a large amount of energy, which was precious on Planet Sunil. Each shot meant burning a large amount of fortune, since its energy technology naturally did not match that of the superior civilization. It took a long time to charge before firing, so they only used this enormous cannon when they encountered the most fearsome monsters.

The Sunils explored this planet for over ten years and recorded a large number of beasts in their database. The Mountain Beasts were among the top monsters. Strong beasts were all diverted by the frontline combat troops, so the appearance of this Mountain Beast meant they had failed.

As the cannon was loading, Hila appeared beside Commander Sunil. - No need, let me handle it.

The commander was shocked, but a voice came through the communicator in his ear and the next moment, he was overjoyed.

Up to that point, only Rick and the players were participating in the 'war'.

Hila floated upward, her crimson energy covering her black armor, her head without its helmet, so her red hair floated behind her.

Her eyes gleamed, and in the next moment, a huge figure of dark energy appeared above her head. The figure resembled a gigantic black bird, hundreds of meters in size, making the monsters look like mere poodles in front of a lion.

The beasts seemed to set aside the madness in their eyes for a brief moment, fear surged as the cold energy of death emanated from Hila like a red star beneath the black bird.

The next moment, Hila opened her mouth, just like the 'bird', a silent cry, not echoing through the air, but straight from the soul. All who heard it felt their minds short-circuit for a brief moment, but they were not the targets, the true targets were the tide of beasts and the monsters behind them.

They froze, their bodies still for a moment, the next moment, each of them fell as their souls were sucked out of their bodies, rushing straight into Hila's mouth. She swallowed hundreds of thousands of souls at once, closing her eyes, she felt that energy being 'digested' inside her.

Welding a cold sigh, it was truly satisfying.

The other members of Triple Six weren't far away. Vanessa stepped forward, opening her mouth, her energy emanating and covering the entire battlefield. Every monster was also affected, the still-warm blood in their bodies rushed into the air like streams of liquid flying straight into her open mouth.

Vanessa sucked more and more blood as red veins appeared on her skin, her eyes became bloodshot, she was consuming an enormous amount of blood energy at once, she was euphoric, but soon her body could no longer cope, she had to stop.

Sighing, she raised her hands. The blood stopped rushing into her mouth, rapidly concentrating into a huge sphere of blood. She had only sucked in about 30%, the rest was compressed directly into a massive ball of blood, which contracted rapidly until it solidified.

Most of the blood's energy would be lost that way, but it was better than nothing.

The group of mercenaries swallowed hard, whether it was Hila or Vanessa, both had captured hearts and fear at the same time.
