-Oh, is it over? - Han Xiao asked him.
-Six? - The leader asked calmly, more of a statement than a question.
Ringo looked at the communicator, thought about saying something, but when the moment came, he really had nothing to say to the man.
He remembered his story.
He was a consequence of the war, and deep down, Ringo admired him in his previous life when he read about him. That's why he was one of the few characters he remembered well, at least from the first part of the book.
Ringo is a selfish guy, after all. If he had gone through what the Germinal leader went through, he probably would have followed a similar path. Even in the end, he would rather detonate the nuclear bombs than surrender.
He remembers really liking the Germinal leader at the end and finding it a shame that he died.
But now they were on opposite sides. Besides, he was tortured for almost half a year. Lin Wei Xian was just his jailer, the Leader was the one keeping him in the cage. He would pay for this.
Ringo had already signed the Germinal Leader's death warrant. Not only that, but he dreamed of how to "pay" his debt to him every day. His hatred for him was only surpassed by his hatred for Lin Wei Xian. After all, it was easier to hate someone when they laughed at his suffering every day. Lin Wei Xian held a special place in his heart and he was still saddened by his death.
In any case, there was no point in talking to a dead man, so he walked straight past and away, ready to change positions.
Han Xiao saw this, shrugged and practically declared war on Germinal before breaking the communicator and chasing Ringo.
Only Hila remained on the ground. She lay there for several minutes before getting up, a little shaky, the blow to her liver still causing her lingering pain. She became even more fearful of Six's strength, one blow had practically rendered her combat powerless.
She began searching for a communicator among the corpses, hers destroyed by Ringo. She understood why. He couldn't let anyone hear what he said. Even now, she still doubted Ringo could do anything, but deep inside her, she had some hope.

On the other side, Han Xiao was complaining. - You didn't have to destroy the helicopter.
Ringo didn't respond, his wings shrinking into his body as he withdrew his energy, his muscles growing back. He grabbed his shirt and put it on, then grabbed the backpack Han Xiao was carrying.
Han Xiao rolled his eyes. He was already used to him. He didn't think Ringo would kill him out of nowhere, so he felt more calmer around him.
-We haven't found any signs of civilization so far. - Han Xiao sighed.
Ringo said. - I'm hearing voices, about two kilometers northwest.
Han Xiao's eyes gleamed as he accelerated, changing direction. Ringo shrugged and followed.
The pair walked for ten minutes before reaching a camp that was still lit up even late at night.
A group of armed men stepped forward. - Stop right there!
Two armed men emerged from the settlement, aiming their guns at him. Ringo ignored them, intending to continue advancing, but Han Xiao seemed to sense Ringo's irritated mood and stepped forward.
-We're travelers, here to buy food and water. - He said with a professional smile.
The men frowned. -Coming here at middle of the night?
-We got lost and saw light in the distance. We'd also like to know our current position. - Han Xiao smiled professionally.
Ringo seemed disinterested, still thinking about Hila.
He ignored the conversation as he remembered the incident, her scent, the soft skin of her neck, the taste of blood...
His eyes clouded over, and a maniacal smile appeared on his face. Fortunately, the pair were still talking to Han Xiao to notice.
Ringo wanted to go back and take her with him. God knows how much he wanted to knock her down right there and breed like an animal, but he knew Aurora was the key to everything. He didn't just want to fuck. Hila would not only be powerful, but a valuable partner too.
Using force won't help. He needs her to submit willingly. A woman like her, once she promises something, is unlikely to change her mind, except, of course, if her sister's life is at stake. In that case, he has no doubt she would betray him. Aurora was the most important to her sister
Ironically, he didn't want her to stay with him because of the little girl. It irritated him. He'd rather beat her every day until she accepted him than force her to commit for her sister's sake. It left a bad taste in his mouth.
He hated it.
He knew Hila's personality, she's the kind of woman who'd rather die than bow down. She's extremely difficult to win over and ironically, the easiest way to win a woman over is through her sister. Originally, her relationship with Han Xiao improved for several reasons. If Han Xiao had wanted to, they could even have become a couple, but the true starting point was Aurora. Without Aurora, Han Xiao was just another passerby in her life.
But he knew, even with his current power, he couldn't defeat the Leader. His power was strong, very strong, but it required time to grow. He wanted to run and become stronger quickly, but it wasn't time to isolate himself yet. He needed a channel of communication with Han, as well as information about this world. After all, he only knew it through the reader's eyes, and he'd read this novel years ago, he remembered very little about it.
As for the fact that his thoughts were focused on forcing himself on the woman? Ringo didn't even think it was strange. He wanted her, he would have her, simple as that.
(A/N: For those who are offended and think the MC is a "hormonal pre-teen brat," know that the MC is still in the "crazy" phase and that mindset will change later, at the very least, it will become much more relaxed. He's currently in an "animalistic" state, it doesn't usually seem like it, but Hila is a trigger for him. Hila is like a perfect female for him. Forcing her is no different from what happens to animals in the wild, so don't take it personally. It's like Baki's Pickle is constantly at odds with the MC's normal personality. I know it sounds like I'm building an evil MC, but no, my MC is neutral, but his current mindset is broken and he needs time to "adjust.")
-Ringo, let's go. - Han Xiao pulled his arm away, pulling him out of focus. Ringo looked at him blankly and nodded.
At some point, Han Xiao befriended a clearly Chinese man with a strong physique. - This is Hu Hongjun. He offered to let us spend the night, but he doesn't have enough beds, so we'll sleep on the floor.
Ringo didn't mind at all. He hadn't slept comfortably in months, so he didn't mind waiting a little longer.
They were placed in the room of Hu Hongjun's nephew. Hu Hongjun woke up angrily, then sighed and ignored them.
The man brought them some blankets, but Ringo refused, he simply used the backpack full of weapons as a pillow and passed out.
Han Xiao became even more envious of this ability.
The next morning, Ringo was woken by Han Xiao. Apparently, Hu Hongjun's wife had made breakfast.
Hu Hongjun's wife was clearly Western. The man introduced her as "Anne." Ringo found her pretty, but didn't look at her again. He wasn't a pervert, he just wanted Hila. His eyes became unstable at the thought of her, and his expression distorted a bit, but he quickly adjusted.
No woman he had seen so far had attracted him as much as she did, in fact, it was as if other women were... inferior, as if the simple act of passing his genes with them was degrading.
Besides, he saw that dark figure from his dreams again, making him angry.
He wanted to forget about her, he should have adapted to it, but he didn't. He remembered her, again and again, like chewing gum stuck to his mind.
This frustrated him more than he could say, but he thought he knew why. Deep down, he didn't really want to forget, at least not his original body.
Most of his memories were gone. Why did this one stay? Why did he dream about it every night? Clearly, the answer was that it was the most important memory to him.
He, who inherited this body, seemed to feel it more fully. This guy was just like him, obsessed with this woman just as he was with Hila. What had he been through? Why had this happened to him?
Han Xiao seemed to notice that since meeting Hila, Ringo had been constantly pensive and oblivious to his surroundings, simply following him. He didn't know why, but he decided not to ask, and Hu Hongjun didn't comment either, thinking Ringo was silent by nature and Han Xiao was the leader.
Ringo began eating, and he finally came to his senses when he took the first bite of what he thought was chicken, but soon realized it was duck.
He didn't really like eating duck, but this one was surprisingly good, so he ate it greedily, under Hongjun's surprised eyes and Old Han's slightly embarrassed lowered head. He wasn't as shameless as he would be in the future.
Anne chuckled lightly and seemed pleased with the sounds of rapid chewing.
Ringo finally ate his fill and patted his belly a few times, watching Hongjun's eyes flutter and Anne's soft laughter. Han Xiao pretended to be oblivious, his embarrassment fading as he ate too, finally eating something that didn't taste like prison food or something out of a can.
The pair nearly cried as they ate.
-You're really voracious. - Hongjun nodded and patted Ringo on the shoulder, who was clearly taller than him, both in height and muscle.
