Kareen drove her Kia Soul to the police station to pick up her younger sister who worked as a receptionist.
The police on the force nodded their head to the Alpha when she walked in. Her younger sister, a Beta, walked to her with her purse in hand.
"It'll be just a moment. I gotta Omega out back that needs to be locked in." The Beta said.
Kareen rolled her eyes and smacked her lips. She leaned down over the counter of the police station and looked at the awards and plaques on the walls. Apparently the police station was under the supervision of the Jones pack.
Her Beta sister escorted an Omega with dark skin and curly coiled hair. Kareen looked at the Omega and watched her walk, the way she swayed her hips was mesmerizing for the Alpha. She smiled and walked over to the Omega who was instructed to sit to the side while the receptionist wrote down her information from the counter in the computer.
"First name?"
"Lacy," Lacy responded. "Can you take these cuffs off me? They're hurting me."
"You should have thought of that before heading out without an escort. Now last name?"
Kareen walked over to Lacy and leaned on the wall. "They got you in here for something stupid, uh?"
Lacy looked at the Alpha, noticing that she was indeed attractive but Lacy rolled her eyes, and slammed herself in her seat.
"Walking without an escort is a serious offense here, Kareen," the Beta replied, her fingers typing away on the computer.
"When can I call my Alphas?" Lacy yelled out.
Kareen lifted up an eyebrow. "Alphas?" She whispered to herself.
The Beta sister hit the command and took her purse. She clocked out while the other receptionist took her place at the counter.
"Tomorrow morning." She answered Lacy's question.
"TOMORROW MORNING!?"
An Alpha cop informed Lacy to be quiet as he took her toward the back of the station with the other Omegas who were out without an Alpha escort.
Kareen shook her head and led her sister out the station.
When the twins rolled into their driveway, they heard the fire alarm going on from within. They exchanged looks and quickly got out the car. Salmona burst opened the door and called out to Lacy.
Samantha ran into the kitchen and saw the stove smoking. She opened it, waving the smoke away with a towel.
The lasagna slammed itself into the kitchen sink. Samantha turned the faucet on and called out, "DID YOU FIND HER YET?"
Salmona ran into the kitchen. "Nah, she ain't here." Samantha shook her head, pacing back and forth. She ran into the living room thinking maybe there was a phone but there wasn't one.
"What's her friend's name?"
Salmona snapped her fingers tying to think. "Um, Clarice, Clare..."
Neither of them had Clara's phone number because well, Alphas weren't allowed to have contact information of Omegas who were claimed, even in dire situations like these.
SCREEEECCH!
The sports car screeched into the driveway of the police station. The Alphas ran out to the entrance when they saw Kareen coming out.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Salmona bucked up to the Alpha, ignoring her sister pulling her back.
Since meeting, these two Alphas had an immediate dislike for one another. Of course they knew of each other given the industry they worked in, but there was a time when Kareen was on her own side with her own pack but now...she had crossed over to the Theresa pack.
Samantha stepped in the way of Salmona and Kareen. "Listen, sorry we couldn't meet more formally." Samantha pushed Salmona inside.
"Don't worry. I'll see you tomorrow."
Samantha continued to push her sister until they got to the counter. Salmona fixed her clothes and leaned over to speak to the male Beta.
"We're here to see if an Omega of ours is here." Samantha said. "Lacy."
"Lacy...Lacy..." the Beta repeated. "She's yours? She's not marked."
"We're in the process of that," Samantha exclaimed.
"Dude, look in the system and you'll see the Council has it confirmed." Salmona interjected.
Kareen licked her lips as she drove her sister to their apartment. Her sister looked at her, smiling. She shook her head and clicked for the window to go down.
"Don't be thinking about that Omega."
"Why not? She was gorgeous." Kareen said, running her fingers through her hair. She drove with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on her hip.
"She's owned by the Theresa pack."
"Who?"
"The twins."
Kareen nearly drove the car off the road and as she was struggling with the wheel, the twins were pissed at Lacy back in their BMW.
"Can we stop by the pharmacy store so I can pick up my birth control pills?" Her Alphas remained quiet. Salmona keeping her face toward the passenger window while Samantha kept her eyes on the road.
They drove past the pharmacy.
Lacy didn't even want to get out of the car because the tension was so thick, but Salmona opened the door for her. Lacy walked into the house and was ordered to sit down on the living room couch.
"You know how much it cost to get an Omega out of jail?" Samantha asked.
"You can afford it."
Salmona wanted to slap Lacy for such a snarky comment but she turned her back to the Omega, and counted to three.
"It shouldn't be a crime for an Omega to walk."
"That's the system we live in," Samantha told her.
"A system y'all support," Lacy said under her breath. "I need my birth control pills." She got up to walk to her room. Salmona beared her canines and rushed to bring Lacy back to the couch. Samantha pushed Salmona back.
Salmona pushed Samantha back, slamming her into the wall. "You're such a punk," she gritted. "Treating her like a spoiled brat. I'm going into rut tomorrow. If you wanna be a little bitch," she said with such coldness in her words. Samantha glared at her twin, hating they were having this conversation in such a vile way. "Go get her pills tomorrow."
Samantha arrived at work the next day after running to get Lacy's pills and dropping them off at the house.
Before she could take her blazer off and get on the computer to check her clients, Kareen knocked on the door. The Alpha poked her head in and entered with her hand out.
Samantha shook her hand and gestured for the Alpha to have a seat. Kareen's eyes glanced at the picture of the Omega on the edge of Samantha's desk.
"Is that your Omega?"
Samantha's smile lit up the room. She was quick to nod her head and strut her shoulders. "Yeah, she, uh, was assigned to me and its funny, um, we met while playing a game."
Kareen listened, finding it stupid that the council government school meant for Omegas were the ones who assigned pairings. It was so restrictive.
"That's so old fashion," Kareen said.
"Theresa said you're liberal... more than me. Everyone thinks I'm liberal," the silver haired Alpha laughed.
"I believe Omegas should have freedom, right to automany."
"Omegas belong to Alphas. They don't need freedom," Samantha said, adjusting her blue blouse.
Kareen kept the conversation cordial and business related but she completely disagreed with the Alpha that sat before her, and she was already thinking how she could show this Omega what it meant to be free.
